My preferred florist on Maui was closed so I searched the web and Yelp for alternatives. When I…read morelooked at the offerings from Fernhouse I was immediately struck by the artistry of design which wasn't cookie-cutter like so many others. Ordering the flower arrangement, scheduling the delivery, and paying for it via Fernhouse's website was easy, and I received the requested text message the next day when the order was fulfilled. When my friend sent me a pic of the flowers and thanked me for the gift, I became infuriated! The flower arrangement that was delivered BARELY resembled the photo of the arrangement I ordered. I am well aware that some flowers and fillers are seasonal and, at times, might not be available. But, I would expect a florist to remove the item from the website and/or contact the buyer when the greater majority of the flowers needed are unavailable. Among the differences: The sales pic shows 2 Birds of Paradise; my order contained 1. The sales pic shows beautiful red/orange roses and similarly warm-colored filler flowers (that are orchid-like); my order contained yellow pompoms and zinnia. The vibe is completely different. The flowers that were used are, in my opinion, of a lower caliber than what I was sold. Additionally, the arrangement that was delivered was by no means as full/rich as the specimen in the sales pic. Bottom line: what I paid for is very different from what was delivered, and (to me) this borders on "bait & switch." Additionally, had the arrangement that was delivered been shown on their website, I would NOT have considered paying $95 for it; mind you...that's $95 before tax, tip and delivery.

In addition to this, it was soon discovered that her niece had a rare form of cancer, and soon after passed away. I am on Oahu and was able to call Maui Green Gardens and was able to speak with the owner, Quirino Hipoloti. Over the phone I ordered a Puakenikeni tree from his nursery to commemorate my friends niece and he hand delivered it to her doorstep. While waiting for a family member at their appt, I went window shopping to check it out. Sad to see this place has fallen like other major malls across the country since covid & looking like a ghost town. The only anchor store left is Macy's. Their food court on the 2nd floor has dwindled to just a handful of choices: L & L BBQ, Panda Expess, Pearl Korean BBQ. There's also a pretzel place on the 2nd floor but near the Fun Factory. Downstairs was a Starbucks, Jamba Juice, and a Mexican restaurant. But there still are some other popular stores like Bath & Body Works, Victoria Secret, Ben Franklin, & even a Cat Cafe where you can play with cats for a fee or adopt. Still a lot of empty store spaces advertising for lease. The mall itself is a beautiful mall to walk thru. It's open-air with a tarp like cover that lets the trade winds blow thru. Ample parking with a huge covered parking structure in the back. I enjoyed visiting this mall, it was just sad to see it half empty.

While shopping there, I heard two other customers mentioned that they were so happy with the employees willingness to share aloha! It made it a wonderful shopping experience. Shop owners are absolutely friendly and kind! There is a saying that customers get to choose which businesses are successful, because they vote with their dollars. Get your Molokai Bread here! I didn't know anything about…read morethis type of bread until a friend told me about this shop in Maui that specialized in selling it. I was visiting Maui for the first time and I'm so glad that I got the info. The bread is soft and sweet and you can get it with or without fillings. You have more of a selection if you go earlier in the day because they do sell out. You can get plain, cinnamon and butter, cinnamon and cream cheese, blueberry and cream cheese, strawberry and cream cheese, butter cream cheese, ube cheesecake, haupia cream, strawberry guava cream, or guava cream. On our first visit, we arrived around 2pm and they only had butter cream cheese left. We decided to return the next day and buy two more loaves to bring to our next stop in Oahu and ordered a cinnamon butter and an ube cheesecake. These are so tasty and I can see why the bread is so popular. And, that's not all! You can also get fresh lemonade, coffee, pizza, sandwiches, poke bowls, açaí bowls, and sherbert. There's more than food here, too. The name of the store reflects that it sells wares from local artisans from Maui, Molokai, and Lanai. There is clothing, hats, art, and more for sale. Truly local and we loved it.

This shopping complex located located between the twin towns of Kahului and Wailuku, opened in the…read moreFall of 2013 with Safeway as is anchor tenant. It has 103,249 square feet of leasable space on approximately 12 acres. Access to the complex is off of Ka'ahumanu Avenue, with the main entrance off of Maui Lani Parkway. There are 4 buildings in this complex. Safeway with an attached building of 10,450 square feet, a 2-story office building (next to Safeway), a "restaurant" building and a building for shops (along Maui Lani Parkway). The complex went through several changes before it was even built. Originally proposed with a larger Safeway and another attached building (on its' mauka side), it was also to have a gas station. Neighbors in the adjoining neighborhood opposed the idea and the developer revised their plans. The complex was scaled down with no gas station and the proposed entry off of Kainani Street was moved. Also removed was the fifth building that was proposed on the mauka side of the property. Another issue was the discovery of human remains and burials on the property. Local Hawaiian groups opposed the building of the shopping center, noting that it was an ancestral burial ground (pre and post contact). The developer eventually kept several burials in place and marked them (as designated by the Maui/Lana'i Burial Council) with stone markers, a bronze plaque (stating it was a native Hawai'ian burial site, site identification number, AND to respect the area) and metal fence to enclose it. Filling up this shopping center has been slow. There are spaces for a possible 25 tenants, but so far only 6 have opened up. The proposed "restaurant" building is empty and rumours ran rampant that it was the site of Olive Garden.

We scored because they were just putting out a new shipment of boots today. I took home a pair of Dingo's and I'm so excited! Perfect for the fall trip I have coming up. I also found a cute dress that was on their sale rack. The ladies working today were all really sweet and helpful. Definitely worth checking out!

We found another hidden treasure trove on Maui. Da Warehouse has taken over 2 niche markets…read more They sell new, unique, imported furniture items in the front of the store. If you're into hand carved, one-of-a-kind pieces from the far east, check it out. In the back (the warehouse), they sell used furniture from local resorts that have remodeled their units. This is what we were interested in, but sorta worried that the items would be cheaply made. We've seen particle board dressers with holes in the top for bolting down lamps. This was not the case. The pieces we looked at were obviously high quality with a few marks from expected wear. There were lots of different tables, night stands, chairs, hotel art, mirrors, televisions, lamps and bedding. The kind of stuff you would find in your room at a resort. We bought a huge credenza with doors and drawers that fit perfectly and operate smoothly. Even noticed that the back was solid plywood. We've been through all of the furniture stores on the island and did not find a anything that compares to the quality. And the price was so low. We also bought an end table from the same resort. Also, great quality. Drawers work smoothly. I notice drawers because I've seen pricey items elsewhere with no drawer guides. Both items came with glass tops. Nice. Da Warehouse doesn't have a shipping department. They might want to add that in the near future. But, they know a guy. Joel took our call and we worked out a deal for him to to the delivery right then. Quick and very friendly.

Wow wow wow! Andrea is so very talented and completely satisfied my dream wedding bridal bouquet and bridesmaid bouquets. I am still so in love with my flowers that 5 days later and an island over I have kept them. Hoping to take back to main land and let them dry out to forever have this wonderful keepsake. Andrea was knowledgeable, stayed in contact and kept me apprised as she worked on our flowers. She is a deeply kind professional person who takes great pride in her work. My style of flowers was not the traditional Hawaiian and I was concerned but there was no need for that as she completely created the ideal bouquet I sent her images of. Highly recommend Petite Maui! I was so delighted with our beautiful arrangements I would like to acknowledge the company and recommend the service. We were retuning to Maui to stay at the Kaanapali Alii for 10 glorious days. May 24 is my birthday and my husband wanted to order some local flower arrangements for the condo: a smaller one for the bedroom and a larger one for the living area. I called the concierge before arrival to inquire about a florist they could recommend, she immediately told me about A Special Touch. She said that the owner does exquisite flower arrangements with local flowers. They were delivered five minutes after we arrived at our condo and I was so impressed by how beautiful they were, I had to acknowledge and recommend this special Lahaina florist. I was directed to their website so that I could cruise the different kind of arrangements and price ranges. There were a lot of different selections and they all looked gorgeous. When I called to place the order, I asked the owner which would best fit our space and our tastes. Upon her suggestion, we ordered the "Hawaiin Stlyle Tropical Centerpiece" and the "Jewel Tone Tropical Centerpiece" The prices were quite reasonable and we spent $222.00 for both including delivery. Anyone who loves flowers would appreciate the variety of local flowers and the exquisite arrangement. So I can wholeheartedly recommend this florist for all of your flower deliveries. She provided concrete planters (that, btw, she makes herself!) which she had suggested black based on the white table clothes so that the color of the flowers would pop. She also did a beautiful flower ring for us, my bouquet, some boutonnieres, and all of the table flowers. She was on site to set up the flower ring, make sure all of the flowers were set up on the tables and she was there at the end to break everything down. I was trying to create a realistic budget for floral and want to make sure I'm choosing sustainable options. I called and said " Hello, I'm getting married in November and was wondering if you could share with me what floral you would recommend" the woman who answered immediately got snarky and said "It's Valentines week next week and you're calling about your wedding in November call some other time". I realize I have a while, but my time is precious too. There are so many other lovely ways you could have transitioned our conversation to a time that was better for the both of us. You've lost my business and a good chuck of hard earned money I was hoping to invest in your services.
