I've been going here for years. Recently, I really like the fact that I can buy a solid color suit. Also, great selection, many sizes, styled and colors. I love how helpful they are too! The suits run small. I wear a medium and I need an XL in the top and large in bottoms. Paia has kind of gone downhill though allowing the homeless to run it. So, be careful where you park and don't bring kids bc they might see things that could scare them. read more

My girlfriend and I came in to look at bikini tops, since they seemed to have a large selection of looks. We were extremely put off by the rude saleswoman, who followed us around the store and made us feel unwelcome due to her snarky comments and cold demeanor. There was extremely limited stock for anyone larger than a size medium and the sections were unclearly organized. The product may be great, but we will never know. I'm so glad I found this bikini shop when I was in Maui! I'm a designer bikini kinda girl and I love me some Vix and Vitamin A. However, I was bored with their collections and wanted try something new. I walked into Maui Girl and they didn't disappoint as I immediately fell in love with all their sexy, fashionable bikinis. The store carries a number of lines but I really love the actual Maui Girl brand. They make their bikinis teeny weeny in Hawaii and I love that! I LOVE Brazilian bottoms and they had a variety in different styles, colors, and sizes. I never want to shop at another bikini store again on the mainland because all the bottoms here seem so big in comparison. As someone with a very small butt, I need an extra small bikini bottom to accentuate what little I have. The Maui Girl brand is also pretty inexpensive compared to designer bikinis. This spot is the spot if you're looking for those "I bought this bikini in Hawaii vibes." It's locally made and locally sold and the style is spot on for it's elegant, yet "just having fun in the sun" sexiness. The best part is that I fell in love with their camo print--which is also very Hawaii because of the US military occupation--but they didn't have the bottoms in stock. They whipped me up a pair custom ordered to my size because they had extra fabric at their workshop. Now THAT is the kind of service you can only find from locally owned shops. The one thing to keep in mind so you're not disappointed: I'm 5'5" 130 lbs and my size is XL, so it is a shop aimed for the petite, but does so exceptionally well. Because they whipped my bottoms up, they may be open to a custom fitting for you if something they have doesn't fit you. It's worth checking out to ask them, IMO. Oh hi! Separates in all colors I can mix and match!? Yes please. I'm rocking a slightly smaller figure these days (thanks mv nutrition) so I was sick of my suit bottoms not fitting and nearly falling off. I picked up an adorable new pair in the "Bella" style, that while a little more daring, hugs my hips much better! They have some fun prints and even if it's hung as a set on the hanger you can totally purchase a piece separately. Love all the different top options. My new favorite bikini shop! I have not yet visited the actual store...but their online store is phenomenon! If you don't see your size, you can always shoot them an email to request the item to be made..(Maui Girl swimwears are known to be all customized, so even if a certain size is not available or a design is no longer on the website, they can still make it for you ) The staffs were quick with the emails and i got my orders in about 2-3 weeks. The quality of the swimwears are superb and the designs are worth the price because it is one of a kind. (trust me, ive seen enough girls wearing the same VS swimsuits in vegas..ugh). This is a really cute little boutique. As with many swimsuit boutiques, it wasn't huge. They were having a big sale when I visited, but a lot of sizes were sold out (for example, to have matching pieces of a bikini, whether you needed the same size for the top and bottom, or different ones - often there was just either a top or bottom left). I was looking for a white bikini bottom and there wasn't much available in my size. I'm sure the selection is better at other times but I was only in Maui for a week. read more

Turns out that the Maui Girl website is too good for (any) customer service and can rely on their in store business and SI reputation to survive. Review is for the website. The only reason I give 2 stars, instead of 1, is that the bikini styles are amazing. However, I placed an order on June 19, have had a horrific customer service experience ever since, and STILL don't have a swimsuit in hand. Oh, and my card was charged the $175 price immediately upon ordering--how convenient for the merchant. There are very few retailers who charge with this timing if an item is back ordered. I was optimistic, because after placing my order for one of the SI 2013 bikinis, I received a friendly email that my order was received, but the suit had to be made so I wouldn't get it for 2 to 3 weeks. The customer service ended there. I followed up a little after 3 weeks by calling and emailing. The employees on the phone were friendly and polite, but there was no service to match that. I never heard back via phone, and I only received one email response reiterating that the suit is custom and may take the 3 weeks stated on the website for delivery (I'm not sure if they're using a different calendar system at the store, but this was on July 12, 2 days after the 3 week mark, and the order was not even in transit). Last week, I wrote a detailed email voicing my complaints and desired resolution. Still no response late into this week. I informed them, again via email (because clearly the employees on the phone do not follow through), that I'm opening an AmEx dispute tomorrow and to please update me if there is anything that should prevent me from doing so. As far as I'm concerned, it appears that the company disappeared. Funny thing, though, their facebook page is updated nearly daily. I was really wishing for the suit I ordered, but unfortunately it seems that this will end badly, hopefully with me getting my money back at least. UPDATE: Refund received upon threat of AmEx dispute. Then got a call back that my suit coincidentally was just delivered by the seamstress. Upgraded to three stars due to the quick call back, but I wish I hadn't had to threaten to get it. read more

Nice selection and sales staff was friendly and helpful. I deduct 4 stars for their blatant false advertising. We actually decided to shop here because of their 10-50% off ENTIRE STOCK sign. As we checked out, I said "ok, these are all on sale right?" Salesperson points to a small section and says "only those are on sale". So we decide to buy one suit instead of two. As we leave the store, I re read the sign outside. Yes it says ENTIRE STOCK. Go back in and point this out. Clerk says that it isn't correct. If that's the case, the sign should be removed. I am giving this bathing suit store only one star for several valid reasons: Absolutely no Aloha when I visited and spent about 40 minutes searching for a unique high quality suit for my exotic vacation! The selection is OK but the prices are much higher than what you can find at the many Water Wear stores throughout Maui! ( Water wear has a great selection & better customer service) I felt a couple of the sales girls where not helpful & a little rude! Maybe I needed to spend over $100 to get better service from this store! I bought some a couple of pieces for about $40 each and I wanted to buy more but I just was not sure of the quality!!! I will have to write a follow up report if the quality if up to par! I do have my doubts and that is why I only wanted to buy one bikini here! Went to Paia for lunch and swung by this place to check out the bikinis. It definitely did not disappoint. They mostly carry their private label Maui Girl, which you can mix and match or buy just the top or bottom, in a variety of cuts and colors (from hot lime to black). I saw a couple of other brands; Despi for one. Prices range from $99 to $200 for a bikini set. You can also buy any of the items separately starting at $40 each. Most of the triangle tops are unlined (which I don't like) and the lined/lightly padded items feel slightly cheap. I ended up only getting a hot pink cheeky bottom and leopard print Brazilian cut brief. Very happy with the selection of bottoms there. I'm a fan of the Brazilian bottom anyway, so I'm overall very happy even though didn't find a bikini top. Pros: Very good selection of the Brazilian bikinis in awesome colors and cuts, friendly staff who will help if you need it and who will leave you alone to browse if you know what you're looking for. Cons: Solid colors are great but the prints are just ok. Price is slightly expensive for the quality that you get. read more

Great place to shop for a bikini. At first I didn't think they were going to have anything I could ever imagine wearing (sequins, thongs, and electric tropical prints were the norm), but they actually have a wide variety of shapes and colors hidden on those racks, and the saleswoman was tireless and patient. They also have a comfy armchair and magazines for the boys to look at. Now I have a nice new brown bikini (not that different from my old one, but that's good, because I liked it) and a pink and green hat. Got to get color in there somehow. read more

Had an excellent experience here . I usually put off bathing suit shopping as long as possible since its a fairly traumatic endeavor. But alas, a wedding in Maui next week required a new swimsuit. My husband did a quick google search and found that Maui Girl Bikini Shop had been around for 25 years and had really great reputation When I came in, the store was nearly empty. Denisse was working and promptly set to help me find swim suits that accentuated what I wanted accentuated, and covered what I did not. She knew her inventory really well and offered me suggestions, additional fabrics, cuts, and styles and in general was exceedingly helpful without being overbearing. In the end I got a suit that I was really happy with. All in all this was a very positive experience. The customer service here cannot be beat. As an added benefit, this store's layout allowed my husband to relax in a chair by my dressing room and participate in the swimsuit buying process (which he enjoyed). I appreciate his input and having him be a part of the process (without having to run out of the dressing room and into the main part of the store a la Victoria Secret) made the whole experience much less stressful! read more

This place will forever be a 'must' when we visit Maui. My boyfriend at the time now hubby bought me this white bikini when we first visited in 2011. I was so impressed with the styles they carried and this is us being from San Diego and me having travelled to Rio, Brazil. They just had so much sexy edgy hard to find lines. I had a baby last year and now traveling to Maui for a family vacay this past February 2017 I knew I wanted to pop in. Definitely more body conscience this next time around and not as confident as when I was prebaby but the owner couldn't have been more helpful and amazing. Love Maui Girl and Co. I went there with my husband after he had seen their website. Not being the perfect bikini "shape" I was worried I wouldn't find anything or that the girls working there would not be friendly. It was the EXACT opposite. The customer service was AMAZING. Brittney immediately introduced herself and started getting swimsuits for me to try on. She made me feel super comfortable.....I tried on SOOOO many suits and made a total mess and Brittney did not bat and eye. She was very complimentary and just wanted to make me happy. I ended up buying 2 suits two days in a row and Brittney was awesome both times. I use to always buy my bathing suits here! I walked in today to take a look and stock up on some suits before going back to San Diego. When I walked in I was never greeted by the girl who was working. She didn't seem to be stoked on life and had an attitude. Basically, I was told all the bottoms I wanted to buy were discontinued. She told me I was a large when I've always been a small, so I tried on the large and it looked like a saggy diaper...she clearly doesn't know how to size anyone! The sale rack states it's 50% off...anyone would assume it's 50% off the marked price. Well, I was told at the register the price tag already includes the 50%. Yikes...that's not okay to do that to customers. Didn't buy the bottoms and will not be returning. I ended up buying all my suits at pakaloha today instead...they have way better customer service and suits anyways! read more

Maui Girl is the best! Went home last month and in a whirlwind tried to buy a bikini--hit a bunch of different stores in the hometown including Maui Girl but didn't end up buying anything. Feeling deep buyer's regret, I went to the Maui Girl website. There was a silly mistake made on my end and I ended up having to call back and forth with Brittney. She was so helpful and patient and helped me with sizing questions. They shipped my bikini that day and I just got it!! So excited!! I got a neon pink Makena bottom and neon pink Lanikai top. The quality is so great and the fit is perfect, I can honestly say I've never had a better bikini and trust me I have spent some dough on a suit. I had an amazing experience shopping at the Maui Girl store it started with Brittany who greeted my fiancé and I as soon as we walked in the door. She was smiling and sweet! The store is clean and very organized and I quickly found some bikinis, Brittany came over and asked if she could start me a dressing room. Sure! She had no problem bringing me different sizes and I even asked her what bottoms she thought might be cute with certain tops. I have never treated myself to expensive bathing suits, being a single Mom does that to you. However, I had a big trip to Maui planned, filming some yoga videos for YouTube channel and Monatomic Music. My best friend here on Big I who sells bathing suits at Mermaids told me to buy my suits at Maui Girls, that they had the best quality suits. She could have had a big sale for her store but kindly referred me to them. Unfortunately after wearing them only three times and not even in the water the tops were so stretched out that my nipples decided to make an appearance with the keikis and parents one day at a family beach BBQ.....Embarassing! I even bought an athletic supposedly surfing top which also became a flimsy no support bikini after 3 wears. Low quality material- low quality suits for high price tag. I spent hundreds of dollars in their store and when I called, yes it was 4 months later because life was hectic, to share my experience and disappointment, they basically blew me off. I'm a local and very disappointed in their lame excuses. The manager could have at least apologized and said we can comp you half price and mail you another top or something. I gave it one star because the sales girl was awesome and she helped me for two days pick out suits. Honestly, you're better off getting your suits at a thrift store. support this place. the owner sells her own designs. some are one-of-a-kind so they won't have your size. for example: an ivory two-piece with little gold handcuffs on the sides of the bottoms and on the tie-straps of the top. magnificent! they also carry some of the best brands in women's swimwear. these are not cheap suits, but as we all know, ladies, it's worth every penny to feel good when we take our clothes off in front of people. read more
