I usually patronize the location next to UHMC but their redemption center has been closed for several weeks already due to staffing, but you can still drop off recyclables there. Tucked in between the gas station and car wash is the small, dirty and bustling operation. Grab one of the netted carts, dump your separated goods in them and wheel it to the attendant. They'll print out a receipt which you take to the gas station's window cashier who'll disperse your money. OVERALL: Do your part and recycle!

They also are a good source of building materials that are left over from jobs the contractors finish. It's hit or miss whether you find the type or quantity of materials you need, but it's still a good place to check if you're about to start a project. We were there recently, to drop off a couple boxes of floor tile and some used copper tubing. I hope someone can use it. There's a small parking lot beside the building. Be really careful there because you might not have much time to react when someone backs out without looking. I had to use my horn, first time in years!

We recently purchased a new washer and our water lines needed to be replaced. I couldn't do the work myself because I don't have the proper tools and everything was rusted over. I called Brandon of Pro Island Drain Cleaning and services by referral from John of Good Guy Plumbing that I got from Next Door. Brandon wasn't able to come out day of being that it was about 6pm but he did tell me to call first thing in the morning so they could get us in on the schedule. I called the next morning and he told me to send him the address and he'll have someone to come by. He had someone come by around noon to see what needed to be done and he left to pick up the other parts needed. Our plumber, Kai was so easy to work with especially since we previously bought some of the other needed parts to begin with the day before. It was less than an hour of work that would have taken me much longer on my own. The price was much more fair than calling one of those bigger plumber companies that charge $100 to cut a pipe.
