Where do I begin? We were charged twice for a plot. Then once a year we had to hire a caregiver to be with my mother so I could listen to a sales pitch. When we wanted a refund, it fell on deaf ears. She took care of all our needs, answered all our questions and made sure that we made the best decisions regarding our Mom's final wishes. An update is in order as we sought services in the business office. Nicole warmly greeted us, gave her condolences, and made us feel very welcome. We were here to finalize paperwork for my dad who passed. She went over everything with us; burial location, plaque design, and his paper work from back in the day. She took the time to explain details, answer all the questions we had, and we never felt rushed. Because my dad had bought a burial plan back in the 80's, I was expecting some current day add-on charges, but that was not the case. The only money we paid for was for an optional granite border ($500) underneath the plaque, which is standard fare now, but not back in the day when concrete was best, but tends to erode after several years. Nicole was even nice enough to draw up a burial plan for me and my spouse, and I was surprised at how affordable it is, especially with monthly payments. The main cemetery is in its best condition ever. The infamous crumbling wall has been fixed, and the grass is mostly free of weeds. It still lacks any trees and charm, though the mountain, city, and partial ocean views are good. read more

Went to the cemetery Sunday March 12, 2023 at 8:20 a.m. and found the gates locked and a line of visitors waiting for it to open. Dry erase board sign said Park Closed from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. It was way past time to open up. Very discouraging. read more

The park seemed very unkempt and grass overgrown!Seem to me they don't even trim grass around gravestones!!Visiting my parents' grave,I found the vases broken off and could not even fill water in one of them!!this is the second time this has happened!!!My grandparents' grave is right next to my parents and one of the vases had to literally be dug out!!It was embedded with overgrown grass!!I also noticed that the statue was so dirt ridden!What a disgrace!!What are the maintenance people doing??I contacted the park and all I got was excuse after excuse!!Rene claimed she called me and left a message BUT I got no message as I was home all day,I gave her my email and she said she'll send me pictures of the vases being fixed But I have not received the email!!Terrible service.I will now employ one of my sisters to go and check the graves as I live on Oahu.People pay alot of mony for their loved onesto be burid there and looks like they are very LAX on maintenenc and care. read more

I am a former Kula, Maui resident now living in Washington State. Recently, on a trip back home to Maui, I stopped by Maui Memorial Park. I was pleasantly surprised. There have been SO MANY improvements since the last time I was there! Back in 2005, my father was laid to rest here. It looks so beautiful! The grounds are well-kept and everything is so clean! A big difference since 2005. I couldn't remember the exact location, so I asked one of the groundskeepers/maintenance men if they could help me. Everyone was so friendly and more than willing to help. Nick placed a call in to the office and I was immediately directed to my Dad's memorial. Another pleasant surprise was meeting Pat Puana ~ she came out to greet me and to see if there was anything she could do to help me. I expressed my gratitude at how friendly and helpful everyone had been to me. During our conversation, I disclosed to Pat that I was struggling with a chronic illness and it got me thinking about my burial options. Pat went over the options available to me on Maui, plus gave me information on their Mountain View location in Washington State. What I had dreaded doing (going to the cemetery) turned into a comforting, informative experience. Pat is knowledgeable, friendly, personable ~ a real asset to the organization. I now live in a busy metropolitan area where good customer service is hard to find. But Ms Puana and her staff showed me true aloha spirit and that excellent customer service is alive and well at Maui Memorial Park! I recently visited Maui for a family reunion. While there I decided to visit Maui Memorial Park to pay visit to several family grave sites. I hadn't been to MMP since 2002 and boy has it improved! Upon arrival I noticed the beautiful landscaping done in the front. For those of you that aren't familiar with this area, it basically is a sand hill; however the entrance is lush and thriving. Of course having not visited for 12 years I went to the office for assistance to find the location of my ohana and GM Pat Puana graciously not only looked up the plot sites but physically walked my family and I to the sites. Upon arrival at sites, the vases which hadn't been used in years was stuck and not able to be removed by hand, so she called the cemetery crew and a gentleman showed up almost immediately with some tools and loosened the vases for us. Not expecting such service I only purchased 3 bouquets of flowers and I was pleased to see that they now offer flowers for purchase so I was able to conveniently purchase 3 more bouquets to fill all the vases. And the pricing was better than what I paid for my bouquets at a local super market! This is such a convenient service for the locals that visit regularly but especially for out of town visitors. Another beautiful improvement is a fishpond located by the sales office. Visitors can enjoy a zen feeling by just sitting by the fishpond and enjoying the moment. Kudos to GM Pat Puana and her office staff and cemetery crew to their customer service and hard work improving the the park. It's come a long way since 2002! read more
