When I arrived for the appointment, I was told that it was never put on the books and had to leave. New management is horrible. They don't listen to what the client says, and then will proceed to lie to your face over and over and over again. And then threatens to call the cops on you and told you to f* off. My mom dropped off my dog and told them to only shave under neath and her butt like a sanitary trim. Any groomer should know how to do this. The new groomer was so lazy to brush my dog, so she proceeded to cut 2 inches of her hair off by and due to the kind of breed she is it probably will never grow back how it was. She continued to lie to me and change her story about five times maybe six I couldn't keep up there was so many lies and contradictions. They claimed my dog was matted, I have about 10 witnesses that will say my dog was not matted. I just want to save someone else the hassle and also my dog gets really low self-esteem when her hair is short. So please stay away or just pick up a pair of clippers and do it yourself bc that's what's going on. They are also charging mobile dog grooming prices, but your getting someone with zero experience. My husband and I adopted a dog from the Maui Humane Society. In the packette was a free grooming at the Mutt Hutt. I was so excited to get his first bath I wanted to post it on Face Book to show all our friends. There is a viewing window to watch. I took a picture of Cody getting his blow dry. A few moments latter the owner/groomer stopped what he was doing came out where we were with my dog he shoved his cell phone in my face. i had no idea what he was doing I just looked at him . He asked me how it felt then he told me I was invading his personal space and mocking him he told me he wasn't there for our entertainment. Great place! Left with a happy little mop-dog who was no longer edging towards Rastafarian. My parents' Havanese puppy is their first foray into 'small dog' world after a lifetime of Malamutes, and that undercoat took advantage of a few days of going unbrushed and went out-of-control matted. I don't usually write reviews but I want to support this business. I adopted Seamus from the Humane Society and got a FREE bath and full grooming from Mutt Hutt! He donates his time as a "thank you for saving this dogs life"! Thats Awesome! I was so surprised and stoked/nervous (for Seamus). Randy was awesome with my pup. He tested to see how he would react to combing him because Seamus had some matting and just came from the shelter a week prior :( He was very gentle and didn't push Seamus when he demonstrated he didnt like having his dreads combed out, because ouch that hurts. Instead he was calm and patient until Seamus settled down. When I picked up my pup smelled so nice, had a cute bandanna, had no matting and was happy! He wasn't showing any signs that the experience was traumatic at all. Instead he was wagging his tail and all excited. And that makes me happy. read more

We love the Maui mutt hut! We've been taking our two dogs here for over a year now. Randy's service is the best. He truly loves dogs and what he does. He has consistently done a great job with grooming our two dogs a poodle and a Pomeranian. He also let's you leave your dogs for 4 hours when you leave them to get groomed which is great for running errands and also giving our dogs time to play with the other dogs. My baby girl Pua! Has been going to Randy at Maui Mutt Hut for as long as he's been open in the Kihei location. She always comes out sparkling clean and a tropical bandana or seasonal holiday print banbana on her, so adorable. Today, she had a teal blue and white plumeria design bandana on.SO CUTE! Worst grooming ever! We have had our dog groomed every 4-6 weeks for 4 years. This groomer used the clippers (one length on body and legs) and did no hand trimming. Didn't touch her head, tail or feet. Our dog is a miniature golden doodle, 28 lbs.. we were charged $40 more than we have ever paid. My daughter pays about the same for her doodle that is 70lbs. There was also an almost bald, mangy looking dog with open bloody sores wandering loose in the room. When I requested that my dog not be allowed near this animal, she acted like I was crazy. This is My second review ever but I feel it's important to warn people who have a long haired dog that this new owner as of one or two months ago has no idea how to trim my dog. Christa was wonderful and my dog never made a sound once Christa took her lovingly from my arms. She never barks except when someone comes to the door. Dogs have a seventh sense... I should have listened. I came back only to find my dog would have been better off had I trimmed her Myself but it takes being a professional at least once every eight weeks.I told the owner that she had forgotten to trim the Fur on her legs, feet and other parts of her body and she attempted to improve on the spot. I gave her an added chance to improve on her mistakes which was A waste of time.She had covered her with a cute dress and now I know why. Sound mean? No I paid $80 and will have to go somewhere else. I asked to see pictures of her work before I handed off my girl and she did not have any nor were any of the day cares there for a trim. My guess is this was the only business on Maui for sale. Her daughter Who is very sweet,said she had been in the business five years as I had also asked that question. How do I know? No certificates on the wall. When am I going to learn that trust is not always the right way to go? I believed that five years was a long enough time from apprenticeship to professional. Wrong!! Again nothing on the wall or anywhere to prove that. Save losing your cool and money and try Wailuku or possibly the mobile lady furdresser. . I would've had to of put Post-it notes all over my dogs body to bring attention to the improvements needed. This place is awesome! I cannot recommend it enough! The staff is so friendly, and their prices are great! Complimentary 4 hours of "play care" with grooming so I dropped my dog off in the morning for his bath and was able to leave him there while I ran errands all morning and he got to play with other dogs.
