Horrible experience! Got dermoplaning with collagen facial and she didn't even massage my face with the facial! She petted my arms and shoulders instead of massaging. When I asked for deeper presser she did it lighter. Put red light over my face and didn't tell me how bright it was going to be. Minimal communication. No after care instructions. Her services are 100% customized to my skin's needs and she'll even pivot and try new things depending on what my skin is doing on any particular day. Laura was amazing! As soon as I walked in, she was super friendly but professional at the same time. The space was very neat, clean, and welcoming. The entrance is the very last door on the right when looking at the building from the parking lot. Laura was quick and made my appointment as comfortable as possible. I went in for a Brazilian wax after 3 months without maintenance and I had accepted that my appointment would be a little more sensitive. However, I was pleasantly surprised that it was nowhere near what I had expected! Laura explained to me that the soft wax she uses is much more gentler on the skin, and from my experience, I completely agree! Also, unlike hard wax, there is no need to wait for the wax to harden before removing it. I plan to continue seeing her and would like to try her other services. For the first time in my life, I was looking for some below-the-neck waxing while on a recent trip to Maui. I did my Yelp research, and ending up at Maui Skin & Body, based on the incredible reviews. As a person who hates having wax poured on/ripped off of my face, needless to say, I was more than a bit anxious and a bit flipped out about the procedure! I did online research, did some breathing exercises, and prepared for the best-slash-worst. Stephanie was amazing. She made me feel welcome the moment that I greeted her. She talked me through the procedure, but didn't OVER-talk me through it, if you know what I mean. Before I knew it, wax was being applied, hair was being ripped and...it was FINE! I wouldn't say it was painless (I mean, I'm a human being), but it was very much LESS of a traumatic procedure than I ever imagined. Dare I say it was much less painful than getting my lip or eyebrows waxed. Stephanie made me feel super comfortable throughout the procedure and I didn't feel weird at all (kind of a first for me!). I had brought a change of wardrobe (pants into a dress) in anticipation of the AFTER effects of the waxing, but it was nothing. I don't like leaving negative reviews but I'm writing one today because I had the worst experience here. I just moved here and was looking for a new wax place to do my brows and bikini. Found this place on Yelp and based on all the 5 star reviews, I thought it must be good. So upon arrival, I was greeted but Laura didn't introduce herself. Few minutes pass and asked if if she ever serviced me before, I said no. She said "sorry, usually I introduce myself but I'm not having the best day" so I was like ok, no worries. The whole time she was doing my brows, she was giving me short answers and you could just tell she didn't wanna be there. The whole time she was doing my brows, I didn't even wanna go through the bikini wax. I just wanted to leave. But I stuck with it, hoping it would get better. When it came to the bikini wax, it was SILENT. She wasn't really trying to strike up conversation or anything. So at that point, I stopped talking. Then her phone starts going off and she stops to check her phone MID wax and then continued to wax me down there! Ew, your phone is a cesspool for germs! Everybody knows that. And then she made a sighing sound (as if she was annoyed by what she read on her phone) She kept looking over at her phone. I'm sorry but a bikini wax is an intimate service and I believe that the client your servicing should feel at ease and comfortable as possible! I didn't get that vibe at all. I wanted to get out of there asap. I get it... everybody has bad days but you leave your emotions at the door before you walk into work! Maybe I came on a bad day but first impressions are so important. It determines whether or not someone will return. I will not be returning to this place. I scheduled an appointment with Laura, for my daughter, after reading great reviews on Yelp. The reviews couldn't have been mor accurate. Laura is a sweetheart and is very dedicated to her work and her customers. She is professional but very personable. My daughter had never had a Brazilian wax but Laura thoroughly explained the process, putting my daughter at ease. when I saw how easy and gentle the waxing process was, I asked Laura if she had time to give me a.bikini wax (and she did ). I also had a great experience. It wasn't painful, as I thought it would be...the main reason I've avoided getting a bikini wax in the first place. Her studio is also very nice and comfortable. I hope that my daughter and I can find someone, like Laura, back home. I did a Hydrafacial treatment with Laura for the first time as I was having breakouts from wearing my mask and I loved the results!
