He's been growing out his hair for almost 3 years. Senior portraits are soon and I pretty much begged my son to do something/ ANYTHING to his hair. Reluctantly and after much research, he opted for a wolf cut. CJ is so talented! My son showed him a picture of the haircut. He took a glance, said OK and started chopping away. Making another appointment in 8 wks. By far the BEST barber we've gone to yet. Mahalo CJ for giving my son a boost in his confidence and for making this Mom happy.

This was key in solidifying the booking of my appointment: Kauai Paa @styledby_paa Nestled at the top of a staircase, The Empire Maui, is a clean barbershop with a brotherly, island vibe. Kauai is highly personable and asks all the necessary questions to give your best preferred look while paying very close attention to detail. He took his time and he clearly wanted to get my cut right. I left the shop feeling like a million bucks. I highly recommend getting a haircut here.

I was surprised at how uneven it looked, so I politely asked if she could clean up and fade a few areas. To be fair, the staff were very friendly and welcoming, but it seems they may be more experienced with women's cuts than young boys' haircuts. I've always passed by this shop when I'd be at Maui Mall, but never knew they cut children's hair as young as 1! We were able to make an appointment the same day which worked out perfectly. I don't remember the name of the lady that cut our son's hair, but she was really fast and efficient. This was our son's first hair cut ever (he's 3 1/2) and I was worried he'd get nervous. However, she made him feel comfortable and was able to patiently work around our super ticklish, squirmy little boy. About 18" of hair gone, just like that! My heart may have broken just a little, haha. We were in and out in less than 30 minutes and my son's been loving his short hair ever since. I only wish she had used regular scissors vs. the razor as it can damage hair, but overall pleased with the results. The shop is pretty basic, but spacious and clean. They met our needs and we'll be back for another haircut for the kiddo in the future.

So, the lady didn't greet when I entered and check out my husband who happened his haircut almost done. He asked if his haircut was good enough and I suggested to trim more some part of it. Surprisingly, the lady told me with irritated voice, "you just came and you want me to trim again!" I got pissed but remained calm and told her just do whatever she likes and left. I understand that people gets tired maybe because she was busy all day but we are customers and we don't deserve to be treated that way.
