I stopped into plus size pretty today, and I'm glad I did! I forgot to take pictures (sorry!), but…read moreit was incredibly cute in there. Full of color and fun wallpapers that make the shopping experience fun. The store is sorted mostly by size ranging 14-30+ with the majority of items being towards the middle of that range. There is a separate rack for lingerie/swimsuits/longer items. The majority of clothes on the racks were in season, and they mentioned that the store would be transitioning to fall soon. The fitting room is HUGE! There is plenty of room to try things on, a large mirror to view all the angles, and a fan (hooray)! The star of the shower is truly Angelina! She is not only passionate about her store but passionate about making sure you find something that suits you! She has such a bubbly personality and is so welcoming from the second you enter the store! She also hosts events, so be sure to check her social media for details! I would definitely encourage you to stop in and take a look around!

It's easy to get to, has an amazingly fun shopping atmosphere, and really feels like the owners behind the place really understand some of the frustrations plus-size people have had with clothes shopping - and tried to mitigate it as best as possible. Honestly, it's really fun to shop here! STUFF TO NOTE: -There's a parking lot right behind Plus Size Pretty. There's also free street parking on both sides of the street. Depending on how busy Broad is, you're looking at less than a block's walk. Tons of space when I parked on a Saturday. -The door to Plus Size Pretty is actually on the side of the building. It looks more like an employee entrance than the front door, so you might be confused at first. Look for the door labeled with their street number 924. -There are multiple chairs inside for easy seating. There are chairs inside with and without arms, and most of them look pretty sturdy. -If I remember correctly there are a few (just one or two!) into the store itself. Everything is flat, one-level once inside. -As far as I could tell, the store carries size 14-30+. The "+" is included, and they do have a section that's small, but there, for sizes over 30. The 14-16 section is probably the smallest. PROS -This place is so PRETTY. Easily one of the cutest clothing boutiques I've been in. It feels bright, welcoming, fun, and colorful. From the bold color choices to the pretty wallpapers and carpets and jewel-toned furniture, shopping here feels like a treat. -The dressing room is gigantic! Like, it's easily 6-8 times bigger than my bathroom at home. It's probably the size of my second bedroom. Tons and tons of space to try on clothing without ever feeling cramped. There are giant mirrors to see how things fit as well as a fan installed on the ceiling for staying comfortable. There are even feather boas in the corner that really make it feel like you're supposed to really be enjoying the experience. (Large, supportive couch and chairs in there too for getting into complicated clothing!) -All the clothing is sorted by size. This makes it really easy to stick with your size. Everything is really well organized and in its place too. I didn't see anything in the wrong areas. -All the clothing is pretty in-season. It's March, and there are no coats and sweaters out. Just like a standard clothing retailer, they've swapped over to lighter fabrics and swimsuits. There's a small section for formal outfits too, and I picked up a beautiful red evening gown for dirt cheap. (Okay, no real events to go to anytime soon, but when you find something that makes you feel like a million bucks and costs virtually nothing, you buy that!) -They also sell shoes (wide widths!), jewelry, tights, and more. You can get your accessories here alongside some new outfits. -The staff member here was sooooo helpful when I came out of the dressing room looking for opinions. They had so many compliments for me, and we talked about my body (and how it fit in the clothing) in non-destructive terms. Clearly, they were quite used to a lot of it, but it was really refreshing to not have someone comment on cellulite or shapewear. CONS: -I'd love to see more selection. That's, honestly, about it. However, the selection they DO have is in-season, current styles, and in good shape. I'd much rather see a slimmer selection that's great (which it is here!) than weed through a larger selection that's worse.

The store is located just off of High on First Avenue, and the only reason we spotted the tiny clothing store was because of a sign that read "Designer Clothes at 'Knock Off' Prices". There was one more thing that caught my eye on that sign, the part that read sizes went up to 20! I'm not a fashionista by any stretch of the imagination, but maybe it's because as a plus size girl I find it really difficult to find name brand clothing in my size that doesn't look like a floral print potato sack. Savvy on a Shoestring is small, with a couple hand fulls of outfits in each size category. Some of the brands I hadn't heard of, but I did notice a fantastic Vera Wang dress on display. Clothing ranges from business, active wear, evening dresses and accessories in the form of handbags and sunglasses. The lady behind the counter was pleasant to talk to and I told her how happy I was that they carried plus size clothing. She said both her and the owner were larger women, so they tried to look after us curvy girls. However, due to a lack of interest (or perhaps a lack of knowledge) from their customer base, they were going to start scaling back their plus size line. Don't let this happen, Columbus! I just found this great treasure of a store!

The store is also tucked on a side street behind Grandview Mercantile. These factors add up to one thing: me forgetting that Savvy exists. But one of my friends went in recently, and she couldn't stop raving about the place. She put three or four things on hold, all major name designers like Versace, Michael Kors, Dolce & Gabbana...Everything is offered at a huge discount. You can find a $400 pair of jeans selling for $40. I don't know how they do it, but they do. So, this past Holiday Hop, I made it a point to stop in. The store was small but full of clothing neatly arranged on racks by size. Personally, I couldn't find anything that was my style. Everything looked like it was selling to an older crowd. They had a bit of everything from sweat suit jumpers to skirts, blouses, and rain boots. There weren't many duplicate pieces. The workers were nice and had York Peppermint Patties for us. If you're a label whore, give Savvy a peek. It's oddly affordable in a neighborhood full of $200 sweaters.
