Ever since I can remember, I have been going to tax preparers. Mostly, it was the various accountants of H&R Block, that handled my 1040 income tax forms. Every year I would go there, and every year it was the always the same. "Well, Mr. S, You have to pay $465 on your state return, and here on your federal, you need to pay $620, now if you'll just sign here please. . ." Let me just say, all of that ended the day I met Anthony Mauriello! I remember the office being near Hylan Blvd and Richmond Ave, and it was nearing the end of the 1990's (if memory serves me correctly.) I can recall meeting him for the first time when he stepped out of his office in shorts, a white tee shirt, with a baseball cap! At first, I was a bit skeptical, seeing that he looked like he was still in high school, but then I said to myself, everyone deserves a chance to prove themselves. Anyway, I was told to come back the next day to pick up my forms, but when I did, he told me I would be getting back money on both my state and federal returns! It was close to $1000! I almost collapsed!!! Since then, I tell everyone about Mauriello Enterprises! If you help people save money, they remember you, right? Exactly! No one should have to shell out all that money to the government and state, especially if there are legal ways around it that others simply are not telling you! My friend Dave used to pay upwards of $1,400 every year, and I practically had to drag him there. Now he gets back over $2,000 annually and couldn't be happier! Today, the office is pleasantly located off Nelson Ave, on a little side street called Driggs. As soon as you see the firehouse, you're there! Today, everything is high tech and that works just fine for me. I go into the office, we chat awhile, I sign the forms, they e-file the paperwork, and in four to five weeks I get my refund in the mail! I prefer it that way, because I like to see the check before it goes into my checking account. That way it can't be confused with what's already in there! Great place to have your taxes done. Beautiful atmosphere. Nice wall plaques o enjoy while waiting to be seen by a professional income tax man. He's a professional at his job & at his taxes he does. The girls make you feel at home & theres a lot of candy treats for your pleasure. These guys are by far the best accountants I have ever used. I get the largest and fastest tax returns from them rather than those pretend chain-places like H&R block and such. They are always available to help when and answer my questions even after April 15th. And their periodic emails offering wordly financial advise have helped my husband and I tremendously. I live in Staten Island now but when I move, wherever I move to, I plan on working with them for as long as they are around. Also, because I couldn't get to the office to sign the paperwork and pay the service fee so they could file my è-taxes, they were able to email me the paperwork to electronically sign. How cool is that!?!?! H&R Block doesn't do that? Does your current accountant do that? I didn't think so. Saved me time and energy. I adore these guys. read more

We got taken to the bank by this firm. First off they took over our former accounting firm Bradshore, however, we were never notified of the change by Mauriello. We did not find out until we sat down with their employee and questioned him as to where was our previous accountant. Next we were told that they were not going to raise our rate to prepare a simple tax return. We were charged over $400.00 for which they did nothing magical. Also the guy we sat with did not do ours tax there in front of us, but told us that he was going to send our tax information to the Mauriello office for them to prepare and we could pick up our taxes in 24 hours. I spoke with other clients and each one did not pay more than $250.00 to $300.00. I also called up their office as someone else and was told that there rates start at $100.00. They offered us no compensation when we confronted them as to why we were charged so much. Neither the owner nor the guy who took our paperwork said that there was nothing they could do about what we have been charged. Really, the owner cannot do anything. That's a bunch of crap. So needless to say we will be going elsewhere next year. Check out their rates before having them do anything for you. read more

Anthony and his staff is a company you can actually trust when it comes to your taxes. They are very professional, accommodating, have a great work ethic and go above and beyond to help their customers. As a small business owner you never have all the answers so you are constantly looking for advise. After working with another accountant that obviously didn't care about my business I was given Anthony's number by a friend. This friend first gave me Anthony's number when I first opened my business but unfortunately I assumed that someone closer would be more helpful. Well let me tell you that was not the case, when I finally called Anthony he was extremely accommodating he met with me even though he was 2-3 times as far as my old accountant and he took care of all my taxes. More importantly he answered all my questions, was able to get me caught up on my returns and his staff was able to take care and catch up all out quick book files. Anthony and his staff is def a top pick in my book. They value their customers, will respond to your email the same day and make life as a small business owner much much easier. It takes a lot of pressure off my shoulders knowing If I have a question it won't take a week plus to get an answer like it did with my old accountants.
