Unlike much less experienced and profit driven facialists, she strategically targets the highest and best outcome without the fluff or pushing the latest laser. She focuses on what you need, knows that us girls need results...and over time! If your goal is just for date night, ok, but she really understands the aging skin thing and she will not direct you to simply sit in her chair and spend. An added benefit for me is that Karen is known widely for her tattoo removal expertise, which I have never needed, but I did have a procedure gone wrong that left me with some terrible scaring. My confidence had been a little shattered, and by a surgeon! I am certain that unless one really knows their stuff, tattoo removal can leave behind some damage in itself and so I thought ok, who do I trust to fix my scars?! We kind of get one shot, right? Had a facial with Mirabel for the first time this week. I should've realized I felt anxious about…read morethe situation from the jump but the red flags kept coming: - I am a new client and Mirabel didn't introduce herself or explain to me how to get ready for the facial. She excused herself to let me get into a towel wrap, which I've never had to undress for a facial, so I wasn't sure what she wanted at first, but I just made some assumptions. - once the facial starts, she doesn't ask me any questions about my skin: not what my skincare routine was what my concerns were why I was in for a facial if I had any recent exfoliation or procedures any allergies?!?! not anything - she uses a regular towel and towelettes on my face. since she is, i assume, an experienced masseuse, her pressure on my face with a rough towel is actually pretty grating; it felt very rough and hard on my skin. - she didn't walk me through any of the procedures or products. I still could not tell you what she used or what she did. - she started on extractions I believe with just her gloved nails. she used very hard pressure, which i'm used to from my own picking at my skin and I know is bad for my skin. For many people, it would've been way too hard and aggressive. I actually have cuts on my face the next day from it. If i wanted to destroy my skin from picking, I could've done it for free at home - her products are very fragranced and actually did start to irritate my skin during the facial. U mentioned the burning and she wiped my face with clean water but it did not subside much and continued after I left TLDR: very abrasive facial that left my skin dull, irritated, cut up, and worse than when I went in. would not recommend. She did provide a massage during the experience and it was very good, I would return only for massage service.
