Not your average self-taught hole-in-the-wall Microblading place! They're only using Groupon to get new customers in because this place is new but she's VERY good at what she does. Take the discount on their website or Groupon before this place gets too popular! Just got my eyebrows done by Monique. The procedure took a little over 2 hours- she took her time mapping my eyebrows beforehand and that was probably the most difficult part because I previously had my eyebrows tattooed more than 5-7 years ago. It was never mapped so they were a little bit crooked and it faded from brown to a red-ish tone. Since the procedure took 2 hours, I got to know Monique a little bit and she's definitely good peeps! She's very pleasant to talk to, and she seems highly educated in being an aesthetic who have furthered her education in Microblading, I appreciated that she's traveled around to train as well. Cleanliness 5/5- she showed me how she uses tools that are brand new and in packages. NOTHING WAS REUSED. I even saw her do a few glove changes and when her phone rang, she never picked it up while she was microblading me. Ambiance 5/5- cute (very clean) suite located into Sola salons. Bring a jacket, it gets cold! Procedure 5/5: I usually get a little bit antsy when getting anything done for more than an hour but everything went by in an appropriate amount of time- I appreciated that Monique took her time with me to get things right and I appreciated that she cared how comfortable I was the whole time. The procedure can be painful if you aren't numbed correctly- I felt a slight pain for litterally1 min when the numbing cream started to wear off only once and I could've gone longer but Monique felt it right away and stopped. I really appreciated that. Service 5/5: I would give 10 if I could! I get beauty stuff done to me all the time and this place had to be one of the most pleasurable places from booking the appointment, to how she cared if I was comfortable or not, to how transparent she was about the whole procedure. I admit, I was nervous about getting my brows micro-bladed; 1) Its something you have on your FACE so you have to be picky with who you trust, and 2) I don't have any tattoos and I had heard it was similar to getting a tattoo (pain-wise). Monique put all of my hesitations to ease and made me feel so comfortable! She took her time to explain the process, map out my brows, asked my opinion on shape/color and she was very attentive to my pain levels. Maven Brow Society is the perfect setting for something as serious as microblading. I was still a bit on the fence and then found out that Monique (who I used to go to for all things WAX when she was in San Diego) now offers microblading in Tustin! I was more than fine with the drive because I honestly wouldn't have gotten them done or trusted the job with anyone else. As soon as I walked in, and began talking with Monique about the process, my anxiety's melted away. I get my back waxed every other month or so for a few years now. found Maven on Instagram through a coworker who loves their eyebrows they do there! was in a definite need for a wax and its closer to me than the OC waxing I usually go to. I had this procedure done two years ago but wasn't completely pleased. There was a language barrier and the gal didn't really understand the shape and thickness I was after. She did a great job basically just filling in the shape of my brows that I already had. So when I decided to have them done again I thought I would check Groupon for deals. There were several but Maven Brow Society stood out because it was a brow salon and not a nail salon like most of the others. This salon is so cute, the decor and cleanliness won me over from the moment I stepped in. Monique is so sweet and attentive. Lets start with I am extremely.... Extremely picky when getting anything done. I typically revert to not going to places because they can never get it just right to my liking and that is a bit of an annoyance... However! Monique was awesome. My 2 hour appt ran to almost 3 because she stayed and worked with me until I was utterly comfortable with my brow outline. I was a little "crazy" and asked for the pencil to show her what I wanted. She was so patient. That alone deserves 5 stars. One thing else that I was impressed by, was her ability to know when to stop. I am a heavy bleeder, so after 20 mins my brows were like little baby rivers and she decided that to continue would not be good for me and opted to stop. I would rather walk around with almost perfect brows for 6 weeks (until touch up) then an artist just trying to rush me thru. I'm so excited to finally leave this review!!!! I had been wanting to get my brows done for about a year now (I'm a victim of the over tweezed 90's brow), but I was super hesitant/nervous because microblading was new to me and I didn't know who to trust. Fast forward to about a few months ago, I heard Monique was back in California and opening up her 3rd business offering hello... MICROBLADING! I've trusted Monique for years, back at one of her other businesses in San Diego with all of my waxing from brazilian to brows and I knew she was the person I'd been waiting for to do my microblading!! I live in San Diego but I was more than happy take a drive to to the Maven Brow Society which is about an hour and a half away from my place. Since this is a bit more of a commitment then a brow waxing I'd rather go to someone I trust then someone that was just close to my home. Maven Brow did not disappoint, it was super cute, private, CLEAN and I LOVE MY BROWS! Monique went through the whole process with me and answered all my questions. The thing I was most surprised with was how thorough and in depth the mapping process was. I'm usually shy to speak up about things but Monique made sure every thing looked great to me before she even started the actual microblading part of the service and made me feel comfortable to ask about anything I wasn't sure about. I absolutely am amazed with my brows I can't believe they are mine! They are soft and natural looking yet full just like I wanted them to be.
