I've been a loyal client for roughly 10 years, through several different wax specialists, and I'm done -- not because of the service itself, but because of everything corporate wraps around it. The "rewards" points aren't rewards, they're a sales tactic. I'll have $10 in points sitting on my account and get asked at checkout if I'd like to put it toward a $60 product. No -- having $10 doesn't mean I want to spend $50 more. Similarly, when I have a few waxes left on a package, I'll be told a renewal special is ending soon "in case I want to lock it in" -- a soft-sell disguised as a courtesy. The scheduling is worse. They text reminders so frequently that I'll get one two days before an appointment and another the day before, both expecting a "yes." A few weeks ago I confirmed one of these reminders, drove roughly 30 minutes to get there at the exact date and time it listed, and was told my appointment was actually the following week. I had the text confirmation in hand. No apology, no credit, nothing for the wasted trip. Most recently, I was refused check-in because I didn't have physical ID on me -- I'd left my purse in the car on a 93° day and only brought my phone. The specialist I've worked with for years was in the building and could have easily confirmed who I was, but that wasn't an option. Nowhere in their reminder texts or emails do they mention ID will be required at every single visit, not just at sign-up. Demanding it repeatedly, with no advance notice, feels excessive and unnecessary. Add in consistently terrible parking, and it's just not worth it anymore. After a decade, I'm switching to an independent, sole-proprietor esthetician. You lose the personal touch the moment a good service gets buried under corporate policy. read more

Received a call this morning from a receptionist at this location asking me if I wanted to book my next appt. as she saw I was in 6 weeks ago. I kindly explained to her that I was using an underarm wax pass that I had remaining from when I used to wax with EWC several years ago. I no longer wax with EWC (switched to lasering). Took some time to explain to her that I discovered that I had 1 remaining unused wax pass after reaching out to tech support to delete my online personal information. She proceeds to make me feel uncomfortable, then cuts me off with a hmm ok no worries before she abruptly hangs up the phone on me. @EWC just a tip. If your business strategy to bringing in more people is calling them, then being rude to them when they give you a response you don't like you're going to end up losing more customers than retaining. Thank you for reminding me why I stopped waxing with EWC in the first place. Additionally, the underarm wax I did those 6 weeks prior was patchy and the specialist was 20 minutes late. Funny how EWC has such a strict late policy, but can't equally respect other people's time. read more

I walked in at 1:35pm for a 1:30pm appt. After they cancelled my appt. The day before 1 hour before the appt. Time and they refused to take me. No walk in was taken back in place of me and I even said I would skip parts of the service if needed so it wouldn't run into the next appt. I am a weekly customer with a pass and am never late. They refused to take an appt with a paying tip to have zero business in the last time slot instead. It's the second time they have canceled my appt. At the last minute for not being able to get waxers to show up for work. I pay for multiple services and keep getting cancelled on or turned away when I plan these appts around events I need the services for. If I were you I would not waste my money purchasing passes from them and trying to use them at the Tustin location. It's a joke and very poorly run. They cancel whenever they want with very little notice and have less than 5 mins grace period for you. read more

Consent forms electronically AND in person? Why. It's the same questions. I took the time to answer them before my appointment electronically, then had to also fill out the same questions in-person. Why are you wasting my time? Don't send them electronically then if you need a hard copy. Asked for ID. Is this a 21 and older bar? I'm confused. I've never been asked for my ID for a wax appointment. I gave my name and showed my appointment confirmation email and text message. Normally that is enough. I don't understand why this location is so difficult. My waxer was 20 minutes late. The appointment after me also showed up and was waiting. Two people waiting for appointments in lobby for the same waxer. My appointment was at 1pm. Theirs was 1:15pm. I waited 20 minutes for my appointment. Alyssa was my waxer and she was good. She did miss a lot of hairs though. My fiancé was like confused that there was still hair right after my wax. Needless to say I won't be back to this location. I'll stick with other European wax centers. Not a fan of making customers do doable the work. read more

Mariah was amazing! i got my underarms, lower legs & i did my first brazilian! spoooooky haha. the #1 thing i noticed & enjoyed about the services was definitely their special wax! i believe she said it was a comfort hard wax as opposed to soft & wow it's a world of difference.. i couldn't imagine a brazilian without that & legs & underarms were a breeze! i was laughing & talking w my technician the whole time during the legs & underarm portion, so comfortable! as far as my first time getting a brazilian i was a little nervous but Mariah made me feel very comfortable. i loved how she explained everything she was doing for each area. a trainer came in during the brazilian & she was nice too. from what i understand EWC is a chain so if i find one in south county i may start going there over my other place because the comfort hard wax really is a game changer. thank you Mariah for making me feel comfortable & taking great care of me! i usually upload photos but i don't think anyone needs to see my blushing kitty cat.. catch me in a couple days ;) read more

Okay-so a few years ago I gave this location five stars and absolutely defended them against bad reviews. Mainly, the bad reviews were women who were late for their own appointments, didn't give notice or gave notice as they were already late, and were shocked when they weren't accepted after a 9 minute grace period (so basically, entitled ladies). I figured, given that any late appointments would cut into appointments of people that were actually on time, this was a totally fair business plan. Plus, there were no bad reviews on the services itself, which meant they actually do a great job and people were just mad that appointments couldn't be shifted to suit their needs on the day of lol. That being said, I've been coming here for years and never had an issue, up until the last couple months. It's truly as if they've just given up. Several months ago, they were late and I was on time. However, they were insanely apologetic and gave me a large discount for that day. So, no harm done. It still felt as though they valued their own rules, and were able to give something back when they messed up. Then, a few months ago, I started noticing that they kept missing spots. I'd go home and find areas still full of hair, no matter who my specialist was (I don't care who I get, so it's not the same person every time). So, I started checking myself before leaving each appointment. And each time I'd have to point out 3 or more spots that were missed. If it was a day that I was in a hurry to get to my next appointment, neglected to check, and just trusted that my wax specialist did her job, I'd find giant strips of hairy spots later, every time. I shouldn't have to check the work that I'm paying so much money for! At least not to this extent. It's insane. Every single time. Then-there was one appointment where, only about two hours or less before my appointment, they reached out to me to let me know that they actually can't take me anymore because they don't have a wax specialist for me (even though this appointment was made six weeks prior). I told them that's not acceptable and that I wouldn't be able to reschedule for at least another week, which really isn't fair. Luckily, last minute, they found someone, and my appointment was only pushed back half an hour or so. BUT STILL!!! If not, that's at least another week where my hair cycle is going and I'm stuck being hairy. Given that they demand 24 hour notice for appointment cancellations from us (clients), I found this to be unacceptable on their part. Not even following their own rules. And then today, they were 10-15 minutes late for my appointment. I was on time, but the specialist was still with the appointment before me. And when she brought me in, she was still taking off the old paper and barely wiping things down and cleaning, getting ready for me. She could have at least had me wait an extra two minutes while she readied the room. I just find it insane that the standards to be on time were so strict (if you're late or don't show up and don't call, you get a point. After a certain amount of points you're blacklisted). They expect clients to be on time and be respectful. Yet, now they're allowed to be late with zero repercussions, and they're not even being respectful about it. Pretty much any time I have an appointment now, it's always something. And it's a half apology and zero effort on their part. I'll likely start going to a new location in hopes of getting the professionalism back. read more

recently visited this establishment for an eyebrow wax and tint in preparation for an upcoming event. Unfortunately, the results were deeply disappointing. The tinting was poorly executed, leaving my eyebrows uneven and unnatural--far from the polished look I had hoped for. I was genuinely shocked by the outcome and did not feel comfortable expressing my concerns at the time. I would not recommend this location for eyebrow tinting services. While other reviews may reflect positive experiences, it's possible that tinting is not one of their strengths. If a service cannot be performed to a professional standard, it should not be offered. I hope this feedback encourages greater attention to quality and customer care. read more

I've been a loyal client of European Wax Center for years and have always respected their time. I've never no-showed and have always been on time. That said, I take full responsibility for running late to my 7:45 PM appointment. I didn't realize their grace period had changed to five minutes (I believe it used to be seven or nine), and I got a text saying I missed the appointment just as I was arriving. I called immediately and let them know I'd be there by 7:51 or 7:52, only one to two minutes over. Unfortunately, I was told they couldn't take me. I completely understand that policies are in place for a reason, but considering I was the last client of the day and just barely outside the window, I hoped there would be a little more understanding or a one-time courtesy, especially given my long-standing loyalty. It was my mistake, and I accept that. But the lack of flexibility or customer service in that moment left me feeling like just another appointment, not a valued client. It's disappointing, especially given how much we invest in wax passes, and it honestly makes me reconsider continuing with them. read more

Time is worth more than money because I can always make more money but I can't buy back time. European Wax Center Tustin location annoyed me a few times, but I'm stuck on the EWC wax passes and there has been poor availability for months... As in you have to book at least a week out and still might not be able to get in the desired time and date. This is same for their neighboring locations like the Irvine location. All under the same ownership who I hear recent acquired these branches. Let me state for the record the locations in Upland and Rancho Cucamonga, under different ownership, is not having the same staffing issue. Because of their LACKING AVAILABILITY I had to pick a random day and time that was not the most convenient for my schedule. I showed up early like any person with a soul should. At least be on time... It is Thursday, August 5th I have a 3:30pm appointment and the 3:15pm prior to me strolls in at 3:23pm and they ask me if I mind. OF COURSE I MIND!! They suggested I can reschedule... I'm already here. Rescheduled til when?? When do you guys even have time? Why am I punished for someone being late? They still took the inconsiderate rude late person in when my appointment time was near. And I like how close they book these appointments together. Is there even enough time to clean?? Probably not well. Front desk refused to give me their management contact information... I planned on giving them some friendly advice. But nevermind I'll give it to the Yelps. Management seriously needs to staff this place. I'm annoyed enough with Wax Passes that are hard to use. If I had the unlimited pass I would probably demand a refund for not being able to utilize it. And now I'm just being petty, but the new owner decided on this new line of product with different scents. I like the old scents. I'll buy it online or at some other location. I walked in here with every intention to stock up on products but this whole place annoyed me. The wax quality wasn't great either. Wax was too hot and at moment pulled on before it was dry. The physical pain was not as annoying as the emotional pain of this whole situation. To make it worst, the wax job wasn't thorough. So annoying... The waxer made a comment like it's not her fault availability is poor. I agree that's management's fault... Her fault for taking the late appointment and making me wait. But as I got home and checked out how everything came out and OMG I was left with so many patches of hair everywhere ! I was so disappointed and when I called to see if I can go in and get it fixed and maybe get a free wax the next time or at least a discount for the inconvenience they blew me off and said they didn't offer anything like that. I've been a loyal customer for ~8 years... I've had an unlimited underarm package for ~8 years. This past august they asked if I wanted to renew my package, I said yes and assumed that the same package I've had the entire 8 years would be renewed, not a different one that the rep screwed up on. Well I recently found out that the tustin rep actually renewed the WRONG package so I spoke with harmony (district manager I believe, Irvine informed me), explained that I obviously wanted the same package I've had for years and would like it figured out. No help, I'm straight outta luck & they said I just have to buy a new package.....mind you this package should last until august 2024 so that's about 7ish months earlier then it should be. She even admitted she could see who made the mistake and she'd chat with them but there was nothing she could do. Even the Irvine reps were blown away when they asked what the outcome was.... Beyond shocked with the customer service received by Harmony/EWC to its loyal customers. Just be ware that if THEY screw up, you're screwed. At least at Tustin. Needless to say, after 8 years of being a loyal customer who is in there every 2 weeks, I won't be renewing underarms due to extreme poor customer service. read more

I gave this location a try because I had a 50% off coupon for Brazilian Wax service. Usually, they charge over $60, which is above market price, so I went in with high hope of good experience. The person who did my waxing was friendly, and the technique was hygienic. So I decided to buy the whole year package (12 sessions). Unfortunately, the next day, I noticed that there were a few different spots that still had hair, and it looked patchy. I tried calling two days in a row and left voice-mails but didn't receive a callback. Finally, I was able to speak with someone at the front desk today. When I explained the situation, the person said that on first service usually there would be hair left, and all clean is not guaranteed. I've gotten Brazilian done before many times at other locations, and it's been all clean. So not only was I disappointed with the quality of service, but also with her lack of professionalism. Her tone was very short and unhelpful. Then she said she will have her manager call me back to discuss. The manager called back, and that was also a joke. I explained the situation again to her and told her that I wanted to cancel my package based on the poor customer service experience. She offered no apology or empathy. Straight up canceled my package and refunded the difference. Which I'm glad about. Poor management and customer service. This was my first time trying European Wax Center. I don't know if this location is an anomaly or if the whole franchise is the same. read more

Been going to European Wax Center for well over 10 years. Never had I had encountered such poor management behavior in any other location as the one I'll describe. Went to get wax services Sunday 5/21, unfortunately for the first time in at least 8 years, the waxer left a lot of uneven spots, I called again one week after 5/28 and I explained that I had several uneven spots from my visit from a week ago and would like to see if they can fix it. The receptionist showed good customer services, she apologized and scheduled an appointment. During my appointment I made sure to say that I was there just to get the spots that had been missed from my appointment from the week before. Again, I'm making sure Im being fair and not trying to get more service than what I was there for. As I make my way to the front desk, turns out I am being charged full price. I explained I wouldn't pay and yet again I explained the whole thing for the 3rd time. I was told there wasn't a manager on call or on site and therefore, I would get a follow up call the day after. Although already this is a bad experience, I didn't care for 1. Having to find time on my busy schedule to go again, 2. Having to explain myself over and over again, 3. Dealing with the unpleasant situation of explaining why I shouldn't get charged. What I do care is the attitude and service provided by the manager, who declined to give me her name. From the tone of her voice I knew she was a little pre-disposed, she started by telling me "I heard what happened but I want to hear it from you" (that felt a little odd as yet again I'm having to explain for the 4th time or more at this point the whole thing, not only that, but made me feel like I was having to explain to my mom what had happened) then she said "I have already taken care of it, but going forward, you have to come within 5 days and the same waxer has to see you. I said thanks for letting me know but this is information that the associates have to know. Things were not as bad there until she implied that I was lying because she said: "I already spoke with the associate and she said that you never disclosed you only intended to get a spot treatment " there was a lot of back and forth during that discussion where she then suggested it's best if I look for another place to get my waxing services. I asked for her name several times and she declined which only proves that she's embarrassed of her behavior. She made me feel like I was lying and trying to get free services. I really want to point out that I feel the person who scheduled the appointment had a lot better customer service skills that the manager demonstrated. When I called she was apologetic and quickly took action to care for my needs. I can understand she might have felt under pressure to lie about our phone call and her doing something right because of the management environment of that place. Sad that one person has ruined so many years of loyalty and ongoing business from me. So let me start this off by saying this review is entirely in regard to the facility, and not about my waxer at all! I have been going to Breana consistently for over a year and she is absolutely amazing!!! Today however July 11, I had a really unfortunate and negative experience while checking out. The front desk workers I'm familiar with, and they are always very pleasant to me. Today however there were 2 additional girls I had never met. I believe one or both are managers, which makes this that much more insulting. One of the girls in particular (kinda short with short dirty blonde hair) was incredibly unwelcoming and unpleasant from my arrival. And to make matters worse, I'm positive I heard her call me a B word under her breath on my way out, and talk poorly about me to the other girls for the tip amount I left. Can't imagine what I did to warrant this treatment, but if I didn't love my waxer so much I would truthfully never return or give my business to an establishment who treated their guests this way. On June 8, 2024 I went in for my routine brazilian was service. I have been a loyal customer for several years at this location. For the first time, I am disappointed with this service as the gal that did my brazilian wax left patches of hair in random areas. Unfortunetely, I had to leave out of town to a funeral the next day and returned the following Sunday June 16th which is when I left a voicemail message. On Monday, June 17th no one had returned my call so I called and was informed that since five days had already passed since my service there was nothing they could do for me and I would have to schedule and pay for another visit to remove the patches of hair that were left. After much back and forth, the gal answering my call took a message for her manager who to this date, Weds June 19th has not called me back. I will have to look, elsewhere to get my wax done from here on out as this place did not even try to accomomodate me even though it was their mistake and unforseened circumstances which did not allow me to return to the next day or within five days. read more
