Was charged an extra $87.50 and given instructions to reinstall lights. When I did the fog lights worked as intended -no wiring problem. I went to Jack Williams because I had a stubborn valve stem cap I couldn't remove. When I got there, to my horror it was no longer Jack Williams but Mavis. I had prior dealings with them before at a different location and vowed never to go to another Mavis again. Well, I was there and it was only a valve stem cap right? They told me I needed 2 front lower control arms which they turned out to be half truth, I did need 1 not 2. They told me I needed rear shocks and other repairs totaling almost $2,000.00. This was a Friday and they were insisting I make an appointment for Sunday. I told them I would have my mechanic of 15 years check it out. He told me it couldn't wait, it was unsafe to drive in the condition my vehicle was in. He followed me to my vehicle going down the list of repairs and that I had to make an appointment for Sunday. After finally making it out of there I went to my mechanic and nothing they said was true except the one control arm. I recently moved and had my vehicle inspected by a different garage, this is the third inspection since then and neither garage has told me I need rear shocks or any of the other work they tried shoving up my a$$. read more

I want to give a big " Thank you " to Theresa and her employees, including the mechanics. They tried to get the two rear calipers and brakes installed as fast as they could, but the warranty company was very, very slow to pay them, and I had to wait until they did. The girls were very understanding, and Theresa offered me a coffee, which I took. I am on oxygen and was running out, so Theresa got on the phone with the warranty company and told them my situation, and 5 minutes later, Mavis was paid what they were owed. Bought 2 new tires a week later, 1 had lost air. After an hours investigation, they replaced the valve stem. 5 days later, the same thing. An hours wait and the original valve stem wasn't installed correctly & they replaced it. 3 days later, it's flat again. Avoid these shysters. read more

This location is very busy with repeat customers. I had four new tires purchased elsewhere mounted and balanced. It was crowded and folks just kept coming in. It took two hours to complete because I also ended up needed an unexpected oil change (another auto shop had done an oil change and left the cap off!). The tech alerted me and advise that an oil change be done because of the exposure of dirt to the engine lubrication system. The tires were mounted, balanced and I also had an alignment. My car drives like a dream! Those guys work very hard and customers just don't understand how tough it can be when it is very busy. You may end up having to wait, even with an appointment because lots of things are discovered when a car goes on a lift. I'd give 5 stars but the shop needs to get their bathroom fixed. read more

Jay was very helpful when I went in for my oil change. He gave my vehicle a good amount of attention. Jay also noticed that my inspection was coming up and gave me good education in terms of how early I can get my inspection completed. Him and his team displayed great work and were efficient with their time. The only downfall is I purchased x2 new tires to pass inspection and was told during time of purchase that they have a lifetime warranty, which I was then informed electronically that it is not true. read more

I stopped in Mavis on a Wednesday made an appointment for Saturday at 10 o'clock to have my car inspected. sat there for 2 1/2 hours waiting. I finally had someone pick me up. If I could give zero stars I would, I walked into Mavis hoping to get a flat tire repaired, the customer was completely empty except the employees at the counter, the both were engaged in a non business related conversation and completely ignored me, after waiting around 15 minutes without any assistance, I left. Ever since Mavis and Jack Williams merged there customer service as gone downhill. I filled the tire with air from my portable air compressor and left. Ripoffs. Always adding things in when you don't need them even after you tell them don't do it. 120.00 for an oil change is ridiculous especially when the dealership charges 55.00. And don't bother calling customer service either they lie too. We were told that a regional manager would be calling but instead they emailed me a a shut me up voucher to use at their store. Took my pick up to Brodheadsville for inspection. They failed it said it had a bad leaky shock with oil on it. Took to Ram dealer next day. Told them problem. They checked it and passed it with no problem. Tried to call customer service repeatedly. They never took the call and never called me back. They also broke one of my tpms sensors while mounting a tire. They never made good on that either. They are crooks. I would rather walk than take my vehicle there read more

Husband took his company truck for an oil change and to have the front end looked at for tire wear . Next thing you know they are telling him he needs spark plugs, coil packs and his check engine light is on. Why did they mess with the spark plugs ? They were not asked to look at them. When he went to pick his truck up, it is now not running right, the battery was dead and yes, the check engine light that was not on when he dropped it off is now on. This is not the first time we have done business with Mavis, but I can tell you, it is the last. In my opinion this company has incompitent workers who are scammers and liars. Predatory and shady business practices. Needed a front passenger strut to pass inspection. I was quoted $800 for both front struts and feeling pressured to pass inspection I authorized the work under desperation to get the car legal. When I went to pick my car up I saw they marked up both struts 300%. The strut at most only cost $100 each instead of $300 each. I called customer service and got a hold of the regional manager Kevin. Of course he gave me the run around and told me I should have negotiated it in the store and they get they're parts from a reputable dealer. Unbelievable. Just a piece of advice, I've used mavis in Broadheadsville before and I was very happy, Anthony is a good manager, but if you see a guy named ed, steer clear. I dont want to give the entire place a bad review as I've not had any problems before, but ed told me he ordered tires when he didn't then when I called the next day (3×) he kept stringing me along saying they would get to it, and the tires were not even ordered! So Anthony calls me the NEXT day and tells me the tires were ordered and won't be in for 2 days. My car had work done by my mechanic friend in another state. Had to get PA inspection. Pandemic related etc.... Car looked at 4:35 for 4 pm appt. Not horrible. Mechanics tells me wheel 'shimmys' while on lift using his hands. Need new tire rod. BS. Plus can't do wheel alignment post repair. Anthony tells me machine broke & won't be fixed for 2-3 weeks but be sure to get it done elsewhere. Wait, a tire store can't do wheel alignments for 2-3 weeks. LOL. I went in for new tires for my Honda Accord and it was fone till they put the tires on. After that my steaaring wheel was shaking so I went back and they told me I needed brake pads and roters. So I got them. The stearing weel still shakes and the car dosnt stop well. They messed up my car. It wasnt doing any of this befor I took it to them. The manger told me every day that he was going to talk to the head to see what to do. I went in today and the manger promested to call me he was going to have a meeting tonight and told me by 6:00 he would call me and didnt. Lies. Bad tires and bad people that lie strait to your face. I spent $ 700 all toll. Some day hopfuly when they get old this same thing will happen to them. Made an appointment for an oil change for 8 a.m. Arrived on time after driving 30 minutes to get there. 40 minutes later my vehicle is still sitting where I parked it. When I asked for my keys back I was asked if I wanted to come back later. Don't take an appointment if you can't make it work. Sent my concern to corporate customer service. I appreciated their honesty and willingness to take the extra time to explain. I had a question about the Cooper Tire warranty. Cooper referred me to Mavis. Once connected I spoke to Anthony. He explained the warranty in detail, indicating that the tire had to be inspected before it could be determined if the warranty applied. I drove to Mavis and Anthony and I agreed that the cause of the problem was "road hazard", to which the standard Cooper warranty did not apply. I was quoted a price for the replacement which was in line with the best prices I had discovered in an internet search I had conducted prior to visiting Mavis. While my tire was being replaced, I sat in the waiting area, where I could overhear Anthony dealing with other customers and answering the telephone. Anthony was knowledgeable and courteous; going so far as to assure, a very nervous customer, who was running late, that he would stay after hours, on a Friday night, until the customer got to the facility. My experience at Mavis was unusually satisfying and I highly recommend Mavis (and Anthony) for all tire and auto needs. read more

I purchased 4 brand new tires Nov 2018 and when the tires were installed I was told I needed an alignment which I was charged for. I took my car in Feb to have the oil changed to my regular mechanic and he told me I needed all new tires because the alignment was completely wrong and all the tires were badly worn and needed to be replaced. My wife took her jeep for an alignment and was told she needed new front tires. Due to us leaving the following day on vacation and me not being there they took advantage of her and sold her horrible Chinese tires. As if this wasn't bad enough they also screwed up the alignment causing those already horrible tires to only last about 6,000 miles. I called and spoke to the manager Anthony and was told that if we brought the tires in and bought four better quality new tires he would give us full credit for the crappy Chinese tires they originally sold my wife. In between deciding what we were going to do I took my truck in to have state inspection completed and was told my front brake pads were cracking and crumbling and were in desperate need of replacement. I opted to do the work myself as my confidence in their ability to actually perform quality work was slowly diminishing. Upon removing the brake pads in question it was abundantly obvious that not only didn't they ever remove the calipers to actually inspect the pads but the pads were in absolutely satisfactory condition with zero cracks or abnormal wear! When the "technician" Mark was confronted about the brake pads he admitted that he never removed them for inspection. After this incident we decided we would take them up on the offer of the tires and give them a chance to make good on several questionable dealings and I contacted Anthony. I spoke directly to Anthony and he completely denied ever making the offer but tried to sell me ridiculous tires for that type of vehicle. Strike three, and probably our fault for returning to Mavis of Brodheadsville. Took my wife's jeep in for inspection due to us realizing the inspection was up and they were the only place open and available on a Saturday (for completely obvious reasons now), was when they failed the Jeep's inspection for "leaking rear struts" on a 2015 Jeep with just over 40,000 miles. When I asked to see the leaking struts they showed my some discoloration on the casing of the strut which was obviously dirt from driving in the winter with absolutely no sign of leaking! Not sure if it's a coincidence or not but it was the exact same technician that told me my brake pads were "cracking and crumbling" that told me the Jeeps struts were leaking. This place is extremely unprofessional and has no ability to perform honest quality work! read more
