Update to my post 4 days ago: I went back to Mavis and they allegedly fixed their mistake. However, they damaged the hose in my car which is causing my anti freeze to leak. Furthermore, they didn't actually fix their mistake. I had to pull over because the plastic part under my car was scrapping the ground. I looked to investigate and it was cracked in half because they did not screw the part back together. I'm concerned, because the lack of care and attention can cause accidents while I'm on the road. read more

I got two tires replaced at a Mavis Discount Tire 14 miles from this one that turned out to be defective. I was having trouble keeping control of my car on the highway so I stopped here. The solution they proposed was that I drive back to the Mavis Tire that I initially went to and when I told the guy I felt unsafe doing so, he ignored me. When I repeated myself he told me to "drive carefully and do the best I could." This was after he laughed at me when I explained my situation. Upon talking to customer service and the other Mavis Tire they told me that he should have replaced my tires then and there, which makes so much sense. But alas, I had to drive at 30 mph on the highway to the Mavis Tire 14 miles away. I do not recommend going here if you expect empathetic and helpful service. I suggest avoiding this Mavis Tire if you can help it, but even if you can't, they might not help you. read more

Would not recommend this specific location. Went in two days ago for a tire leak. They "fixed it" next day the tire is back to square one with low tire pressure. I decide to go to a different location in farmingdale, come to find out the tire had about 5 punctures and they didn't even notify me of it. Had to replace it. read more

This was my second time coming here. The first time was for an oil change. I dropped it off after making an appointment online. It was ready very quickly and everything went well. My second visit was for an inspection and oil change. Everything went smoothly to get an appointment and drop it off. As usually everyone was very welcoming and friendly. They called me to give me and update and again to pick it up. I did notice they forgot to swap out my inspection stick and had to go back. They were very apologetic and made it right. Thankfully I wasn't in a rush and was understanding when they had to take my car back in to switch it out. Prices were reasonable. read more

Blown away by the service here. Not only were they open today on a Sunday, they stayed 2.5 hours LATE on a Sunday to make sure I would have my car tomorrow instead of just keeping it overnight to finish tomorrow. Meanwhile, Mr. Vega (I believe that's the manager's name) kept apologizing for the time needed, which I assured him was wholly unnecessary since I was just happy he was getting it done for me at all! He also hooked me up with the best promotional discounts they had available at the time without me even asking; in all, the pricing was totally fair and highly competitive ... especially since they're great with honoring their lifetime brake pads warranty. I got my rear rotors and both sets of brakes done for $319 with tax. No confusing lingo, no uncomfortable upsell, no additional services recommended--just an honest assessment of what was absolutely necessary and what still looked good. The mechanic sent me off with a friendly smile and a wave, and brushed off my profuse thanks as he wished me a good night hours after he was supposed to have gone home. I drove all the way from New Jersey ON A DONUT to their store to get my tire replaced and they ordered the wrong tire, so now I have to take off work and lose hundreds of $$$ because now it won't come until Thursday. I went to Mavis yesterday on the 19th with my fiancé and the experience was shocking to say the least. When my fiancé exited the room to get our license number, the man at the counter made perverse comments about my appearance and made me extremely uncomfortable with little personal space. So I got an amazing price on 4 Cooper tires from a competitor. I called EI, Mavis and they said they would match the price. I drop my car off and the manager tells me $60 more then the price we agreed over the phone, naturally I complain to him, and the argument gets heated, he very reluctantly agrees to the matching he agreed to, over the phone. I pick my SUV up and within 12 hours I notice a big nail in the tire. No doubt this was done intentionally by him. Do not go here, I will bad mouth Mavis tire to everyone I know. Get your tires anyplace else. I should have gone to Costco and avoided this mess. read more

Stole items from my vehicle during a NYS Inspection. I guess they inspected more than they had to until they found items they would like to keep. Also did not remove any tires as per NYS guidelines for a proper vehicle inspection. The printout says they removed 4 tires, the only thing they removed was my personal belongings and did not return. read more

These guys did a great job. I pulled in on a Sunday afternoon with a deflating rear tire. They took me in about 25 minutes, I did not mind the wait, was just relieved to find some place open. Fixed the tire promptly. After I paid, I was backing out of a space when one of the mechanics came over and told me I had a rear brake light out-i did because I had gotten a ticket for it in Montauk earlier in the day. He told me to pull back in to a space. He then took off the light cover and changed out the bulb, problem fixed. I went in to pay for the light repair and the manager said no charge. Nice guys, good work. I just wish I lived closer so I could return the favor by giving them more business. read more

GREAT WORK GENTLEMEN! NYS INSPEX ON WEEKENDS. Trouble finding a location for NYS Inspections on weekends? I researched & found out Mavis does & called Mavis in EAST ISLIP for some details first. The phone service is friendly and efficient. All questions answered in a well-mannered & attentive way. They asked my name make model yr etc. and told me to walk in anytime- they would do their best to accomodate me. I pulled into the lot and walked in & found the place to be bright and clean. I was greeted with a friendly hello and some niceties and my car was in the bay for inspection within a few minutes. There was nobody waiting so I was in luck! I watched as the guys interacted with several customers who came in for various reasons. Each customer was greeted & treated very nicely by the guys. In between we chatted. The guys are SUPER!! If I could give less stars I would, terrible customer service. Brought my truck in to have new tires put on the front and told them to take their time no rush I just want the job done right and clean. I take pride in my vehicle and kept it in pristine condition. Paying first was my mistake, after that I went to look at the wheels and my rims were all scratched up. I brought this to their attention and the worker got the manager and they both looked and touched the scratches for about 15 mins trying to deny any wrong doing. Then the manager started to yell at me telling me to get the fu@k out of here. I have been in the auto body business for over 35 years, and Iwould never speak to or let one of my employees speak to a customer that way. I get in my truck to drive home, and the interior is completely filled with dirty/greasy hand prints...unbelievable! I spent the entire day before detailing the truck, and know 100% those scratches were not there. Stay away from this place, there is plenty of other options in the neighborhood. read more

I give this a review 2 stars only because the mechanic I dealt with was very friendly and tried to help my wife and I. I walked into the store to have 2 tires mounted onto rims. I already had bought the new tires, just need the old tires taken off the rims and the new ones mounted on the rims. I went there around 4PM on a Sunday, October 1, 2017. When I walked in, there was not one customer service rep to be found. The rep was inside the shop talking with another employee where they were just laughing and talking like I was not even in the store. A mechanic walked in and said "I will get someone to help you guys right away." I replied with "Thank you, I appreciate that". The mechanic went into the shop and I heard him tell the rep "hey you have customers waiting at the counter", he replied, "that's ok, they can wait". I waited alright. I stood at the counter for 20 minutes before he walked into the store asking how he could help me. Me being annoyed but just wanting to have my tires done, I didn't complain and told him what I was looking for. He replies back to me and says, "we are closing in 15 minutes, we won't get it done today". This also happened last week as well the same thing. I stayed calm the previous week, so when it happened this week I got annoyed. I started yelling at him in the store with other customers in the waiting area. The reason I started yelling at him was because prior to me coming down to the store, I called the store and had my information taken over the phone to "save time when I got there", and then once again turned away by the same customer service rep. I have been dealing with the Patchogue, NY store for years and never have I ever had a problem with customer service, but I recently moved to East Islip, NY and decided to work with the East Islip store expecting to receive the same great service I received at the Patchogue store. That was not the case. I dialed the stores direct number when I called but yet when I told that to the rep, he replied with, "you must have gotten the call center because it wasn't me". That's when I yelled at him and told him I demand to speak to a manager. He replied with "you can get the f%ck out of my store now" and persisted to walk away. Now I will admit, I blocked him from walking back in the shop for less than minute and said "don't you walk away from me", but lets find out how I got to that point. Poor customer service, lazy rep who refused to do my wife's car not once but twice in a row, and the rep telling me to get the f%ck out of his store when I demanded to speak to a manager. I did in the end leave after my wife made me realize that this low life piece of garbage that Mavis allows to work for them, was not worth the trouble or worth me getting all worked up over. I will be leaving this negative review as well as other negative reviews on many different pages, and I will also be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the Suffolk County Consumer Affairs Division as well as New York State Motor Vehicles as they are a NYS DMV Authorized Repair and Inspection Center. I own a valet parking company for 5 years now, and if one of my employees ever spoke to or treated a customer like the way I was treated, they would be fired on the spot and given their pay check for what they worked so far up to when I fired them. And I would never rehire that employee back. I will be bringing my wife's car to the Patchogue store once again to have the tires changed out. I guess I will now have to just drive 10 miles to the Patchogue store in order to do business with Mavis, rather than going to the one that is located 1.2 miles from my home. My recommendation, don't go to the East Islip Mavis, there are plenty of small mom & pop shops on Main Street that would love to have your business, and you will probably get better service there anyway. Again, I gave 2 stars, only because the mechanic was very nice and tried to help, but other than that, the customer service was absolutely awful and I would not recommend them to anyone of my friends or family. read more
