The staff and management were both knowledgeable and able to simplify the reason for my Ram's slow oil leak along with providing a simple solution that worked great. My complaint goes back to a July 5th purchase of tires and an oil service. The work was fine; however the issue was an advertised special on 4 tires with an $80 rebate. I selected those tires to take advantage of the rebate. When I arrived at the shop, I once again asked and was told yes, my tires were eligible. When the work was finished, I paid by credit card. And again I asked about the rebate. The manager even printed out the sheet on how to get the rebate I was entitled to. When I attempted to get my $80 rebate, I was notified I was not eligible because I didn't use a Goodyear credit card. Why was I told several times I would be getting the $80 rebate??? Mavis Tire Corporate has ignored 4 emails. That is more telling than their misleading and deceptive advertising. Clearly I will never use them again for any service. My work truck, which was carrying a heavy load, suffered a flat tire. However, when I attempted to resolve the issue, the person that work at mavis tire who in charge he fat with glasses declined to assist me due to the truck's dirty condition and the inability to relocate the heavy items to the parking lot. As a result, I was advised to call a tow truck and will need to seek help from another service center to fix the flat tire. Lost opportunity to make money. . So in front of mavis tires, I had a roadside tire guy come and put a tire on Brand New tire. Successful they made good money just what Mavis could've done. But they rejected me and pushed me away. Not saying that they're bad people, but in a situation like this when I have a flat and really didn't have that type of money to give the roadside it was like almost $500. Mavis it lost $500. Maybe next time you think is people out there they need to get places when they have a flat. read more

This mavis is wonderful, i was there at 8am, for inspection, brake check & tire check/rotation. Manny immediately greeted me & start getting my paperwork & had the mechanic get my van. After checking my van, Alex went over whats needed, thoroughly explaining why & how, gave me discounts & estimates. The charges are fair, i was told 3 hours & they were done a little less than 3 hrs. While waiting, Manny chatted with us, updating us how much longer the wait is, he even got me & another customer donuts & coffee. This place sucks.I went there for an Inspection first thing in the morning ( about 8 am.)on my day off. I was the second person in the shop. I was told that my brakes would not pass inspection the way they were. Ok, so I had that done and the inspection it took an hour or less.I got home about 9:30 am and realized my passenger side rim cover was missing. I thought ok it happens. So I called the shop the guy at the desk was nice ,he said "I'llask the guys". He comes back to the phone and says the mechanic said that I came in without it.Now I park my car in front of my house and the passenger side faces my ring camera and its time stamped showing me leaveing for the appointment to get the inpection. On the video you can see the rim cover on the car.I should also mention that in order to take the rim cover off you have to take off the lug nuts of the tire.I went to the shop and showed one of the so called "Mechanics" the video. No one could find the rim cover .I said I was here all of an hour ago and it was nowhere to be found, No one could find it. so as I was waitng in the waitng room I could see through the glass that some of the mechanics looking toward the waiting area and laughing. Now I wasn't making a seen of being belligerent at all. But I didn't see what was funny about their incompetence. After a while the guy at the desk came and told me the Corperate would have to review the Bay cameras to see if I came in with the rim cover in order to resolve the situation.Even though I had the video proof and the fact of the lug nuts having to be removed. I told the guy either give me my rim cover or give me the money ( which is approx. $30). I was pissed at this dance they were hving me do on my day off . I forgot to mention someone in that shop was smoking something prior to coming to work. I smelled it when I first walked in before my appointment.So what ever that means . Its no wonder they couldn't find a rim cover that they removed an hour earlier. Long story short be careful, today it was a misplaced rim cover tomorrow it could be a spring on a rear brake that gets forgotten. read more

I replaced blown tire which was insured through Mavis one year ago. tire had 11,000 miles and looked like plenty of tread but they said it was worn out so no benefit to having the insurance. Also, charges for new stem, balancing, labor and disposal added to $355. They lost my valve stem cover plus they over inflated the tire which I corrected myself later that day. read more

Do not go here! They will try and rip you off. I went in for an annual inspection, after 10 mins I was told the inspector would not pass my car and proceeded to point out issues in my front tires. They said they were corroded and needed to be replaced. Asking $500 a piece! Thinking this is ridiculous, I told them to take my car off the lift, and I proceeded to drive to my usual mechanic. He took one look and laughed at the audacity of Mavis.he inspected My car and it passed. They Took one look at me and thought I would be a sucker and pay $1000 for two new tires that I did not need ! The mechanics that work there are always smiling and they seem to always enjoy working with one another! It's nice to see all the locals that come in while waiting and the walk ins looking for pricing info - all are taken care of and met with a smile. So we can't give zero stars but I would in this case. I started my trip to mavis at 8 am to get my car inspected. I was met by the store manager David who was completely anti social, not friendly at all. Given it was 8 am I figured he didn't have his coffee and we could look past that. David got my info and what was requested and took my keys telling me that the place was busy (I was the only physical customer there) and that it would take at least an hour (which is acceptable). Here's where's this visit turns into an unmitigated dumpster fire. David turns on the TV cause at 8 am it's prime time news hour. But this wasn't the news David put on ... it was porn full blown(no pun intended) porn... at the time I figured David the manager didn't realize this and while he was smoking in the mechanics bay with the other mechanic he would come back out apologize and change it to news 12 but that wasn't the case. David left it on knowing what it was while he proceeded to continue to blow off phone calls and walk in and out of the shop. 45 minutes later of trying to avoid having to watch "forest humps" I was told my car was ready and David proceeded to tell me I needed over 600 dollars worth of work (yet the car passed inspection) I respectfully declined as I know my vehicle (sorry it's not up to bang bus standards David). Needless to say I will not step foot in this place again for any reason and their lack of professionalism showed from the moment I walked in the door till the moment I walked out... Zero is what i give these people. I go to get a rim changed over i had a 7pm appointment. So first off the guy says of you have to wait till 9pm for us to change 1 rim over to a tire. I say ok now i know damn well im not sitting to wait for 2 hours for my rim to get change but i play along and i sit down. 1 minute later he comes over and asks to see the new rim so i walk out to my car and show him, he says OH WE CANT INSTALL THAT RIM WE WILL SCRATCH IT ALL UP . Mind you its a $140.00 rim. I shut my trunk and walk away. If you dont want to do the work don't make people drive there and then give some BS excuse. Just say you don't want to make money and you rather close early. ‍. I will never step foot in any mavis again in my life. And i will make sure to let everyone know. Horrible experience at Mavis. Went in to have my car with 25,000 mile on it inspected. The person who took my information said he would call me if anything needed to be done. I told him the car is under warranty not to do anything. He immediately told me rotors and brakes are not covered under warranty. 2 hours later he called and said my car failed inspection because I needed new brakes and rotors. I told them I would take my car to my regular mechanic. He checked the rotors and found nothing wrong and the car passed inspection. Be careful at the Glen Head Mavis I would not trust their advice. read more

Be very careful of this location. Same experience with an inspection and they came up with BS reasons to fail. They have inspected the car previous years and failed the car for tint that has been on the car since I bought it. I'm not sure what game they are playing but did not let them fix anything and will take to a legit service station. BEWARE. read more

TERRIBLE. I took my car in to get new ABS sensors (which should've taken 2 days maximum) and it took them almost an entire week. This was because they kept trying to order sensors for a 2019 model car when I told them several times my car was 2016. In fact, my father had to call them to tell them where to buy the correct sensors (which they should've known how to do considering they're mechanics and my father is a psychologist?). Once the sensors were in, they didn't put them in right and my tires were making a terrible screeching noise. I brought my car back to get the tires fixed and instead of fixing it the mechanic FLIRTED with me the whole time and told me to come back another day. I have tried to bring my car in to get fixed (due to THEIR error) 3 times at this point and every time I try to bring it in they tell me they can't see me and I have to come in the next day. I understand no one is perfect, everyone makes mistakes, and businesses get busy, but this is just poor service as a whole. Save your time and energy and go somewhere else, trust me. read more

Failed inspection on wife's car. Told her she needed 4 new tires, brakes front and rear, and windshield-wipers. Car only has 37,000 miles on it. In NYS inspection form, he wrote reason for failure was "wheel fasteners". Lug nuts? Seriously? This was after she declined an $80.00 oil change.
