Had tires mounted here,couldn't get Tpms system working,mounted one tire with white letters facing out,and all whee weights fell off in a couple days causing shimmy. When I asked them to turn white letters in,they said their tire mounting had broke ,absolutely the worst place to go!!!! read more

I was quoted $334.20 over the phone for 2 studded snowtires to be installed on my car. This quote I was told included everything including tax. In reality I paid $359.20 They told me I had to pay a $25 deposit for the tires in advance Legally if a deposit is not refundable and applied towards the bill the customer needs to be told this in advance which I was NOT nor told the cost was not what was quoted. Additionally, this Mavis store charges more for studding then another local Mavis and they claim they are giving you a discount on the tires when checking it is the regular price at other tire stores read more

I had a tire emergency, I came in, I waited in the lobby for about 40 minutes and enjoyed the mountain view while doing so. I returned to Mavis due to swollen lug nuts on the tires. They replaced some but didn't have enough. I purchased more at an auto parts store and sent my son back to have the tires rotated (free service when you purchase tires there) and put the new lug nuts on. My son left after paying a $48 fee and also received a list of things wrong with the car that he could finance. When I called about the fee, I was laughed at and told that was for replacing the lug nuts I had purchased. Removing lug nuts is part of rotating tires! Putting lug nuts back on is also part of rotating tires! So we were charged $48 to pick up new lug nuts (that I had already purchased) and put them in. I was ready to give this business a second chance - but now want to avoid it altogether! read more

Please don't go to this location. There was a different management team and several different workers there last year. Those guys were polite, helpful and knowledgable. There is a new manager and a lot of new faces. The new guys are definitely not polite and, more importantly, they just don't know what they are talking about. They will try to sell you on unnecessary repairs. There are several other local places that you should consider before taking your car to Mavis. I wouldn't let these guys work on my moped. read more

Went into Mavis today for an appointment I made over a week ago for some work. When I arrived they informed me I'd be an hour wait as they said they make appointments but don't honor them if someone is there before you. I waited over an hour and a half while I kept seeing other cars being brought back to be worked on. I asked about it and they stated they prioritize changing and fixing tires over other services which was what I was there for, after I asked for my keys back and was told to come a different day. Overall very inconvenient, inconsiderate, and a total waste of time. When you make an appointment you expect to be seen at that time. Ridiculous waiting over an hour and a half for any type of appointment that was made. There were also several other people at the location in the same boat as me. The staff was not helpful and pretty much didn't know what they were doing. Overall this Mavis location is a huge waste of time, you're better going to Monroe or Valvoline. read more

Took my car in to have two new tires installed. An hour after my reservation time, a tech came out and let me that one of the lug studs had snapped off. I've been doing all of my own repair work for almost 15 years, and I told him that I had just had the tires off two weeks earlier to check the brakes. When I reinstalled the lug nuts, I put them on by hand, so I would have noticed if I was cross threading them. The tech insisted that their impact gun, spinning at 9000rpm and generating 1200ft-lb of torque couldn't possibly have cross-threaded the lug nut, I must have done it with my fingers. Then they quoted me almost $400 to replace the $3 part (which I obviously declined). Not only did they cost me more time and money, their incompetence also caused me to miss a conference that I had been planning to attend for several months. I would strongly discourage anyone from using this "shop". They are only getting two stars because they did manage to actually get my tires on (1 lug stud short) read more

Recently visited the Mavis Tire in Greenville NY to have a NYS Vehicle Inspection performed on my vehicle. My past experience at this Mavis establishment has always been for the most part successful. However, this experience turned out to be a little annoying. After the inspection began, the manager, James, informed me that I needed rear brakes. After negotiating a price for the brakes, they were about to perform the work on the brakes. I was then informed that the inspection machine was not functioning and the inspection could not be completed. After before being there for almost two (2) hours, no service of my vehicle was performed. Obviously I wasted my time by not being informed in the beginning of my visit that the inspection machine was not functioning. This is truly a sign of poor management. I'm not so sure I will be returning to this Mavis store in the future. This is very disappointing because I counted on getting quick service and reliability at Mavis. I have marked this experience (2) Stars based on previous experiences with Mavis. read more

I went to Mavis to have my snows removed and my all season tires mounted. After two and a half hours, the car was ready. When I checked in, they told me they had an alignment special which I declined. In the midst of waiting, I was told my Tire Pressure Monitoring System rubber parts needed replacing. As I have never had this feature, I said OK, do it. The last item I was hit with was I had a leaking shock absorber. I said I was still under warranty so no thanks. This was Monday, the 23rd. Today, the 27th of April, I went to my dealership and had them check the shocks. They told me they were all fine. My alignment was spot on and, the kicker, my TPMS is enclosed in the car! The rubber wearing is just pure baloney! I will NOT be back to Mavis in Greenville and I suggest you save time and aggravation and do the same. Stick with an auto shop you trust. My dealer I bought the car from has always been straight with me (Otto Cadillac) and I'm sorry I didn't stick with them. Lesson learned. read more

Horrible, went in for an oil change after waiting nearly 4 hrs. they tell me they don't have the right oil filter for my vehicle. I told them to forget it put new oil in and I'm out of here!!! Why couldn't they have NAPA that is less than 3 miles away bring a filter over,well NAPA will not do business with them due to Mavis not paying there debt, and from what I have been told neither will the NAPA in Catskill. This place is a joke!!! They are not mechanics and should just stick with tires. More and more horror stories from the locals keep popping up so hopefully there days are numbered, and yes I did complain to the head office for Mavis with the promise of a return call from the regional manager,never got one...... read more

This is my second review for this Mavis location. I noticed the brakes were pretty loose on Subaru I am driving for my elderly aunt. I took it into Mavis to have them checked, and they found that an unscrupulous local used car dealership had sold her a car with the rear brake rotors completely rusted out -- rear brakes basically weren't working at all. Mike, the manager, took pictures for me (so I could go back to the dealer with a complaint) and explained the problems. Mavis repaired the brakes for me overnight for less than the estimate, and had one of their techs deliver the car directly to our driveway. Communication with Mavis is always great, their prices are competitive, they're super clean and they do a great job. What more could you ask from your repair shop? read more

I'm extremely pissed! My niece was here a month ago to get her brakes done & there already junk. No one checked the caliper pins( which are rusted/frozen solid), no lube, all they did was forceably put the new brake pads in which are now ruined and junk. She's a family of six & they knowingly let her drive off in a car with brakes that didn't work properly!!!! read more

Most ridiculous. I was on vacation and my car had a vibration on the way to the Catskills. I stopped by an asked the price for 4 tires rebalanced and rotated. The manager told me to check out their "Shaky car special" just over $110 for balance, rotation and alignment. I said no, just the rebalance and rotation (usually since all four tires are off for balance, there is no charge for a rotation.) After hemming and hawing "Why can't I find a code for that..." for a while, the manager tells me price wise I'd be better off with his original deal since what I wanted would still be more than $100. WTAF! I left. Came back home and Mr. Tire in Rochester balanced all four and rotated for $29.95 plus tax. No wonder this place has such a low rating. read more
