I brought my own new tires here for installation before the July 4th weekend. They failed to replace the valve stems and inflated my new tires to 80 PSI in the rear and 56in the front, even though the tire's maximum rating is 50 PSI. The truck handled terribly, and we nearly had an accident. I woke up to a flat tire. When I returned, the manager was dismissive, argumentative, and insulting instead of addressing the safety concerns. The repair wasn't completed in time ruining our holiday plans, and I later discovered one of my rims had so how been bent. Poor workmanship, poor customer service, and a frightening experience. This past Sunday I caught a flat tire and ended up needing roadside assistance . The guy showed up and tried to salvage my tire but to my despair the tire was Dunzo! Dude helped me put on my spare tire and told me to go to the nearest Mavis. Trusty ol Google led me to this location . Upon arrival 2 nice gentleman assisted me. One by the name of Ivan . Sorry didnt catch the other guys name. They ordered my tire and told me they would call me the following day once the tire arrived. Prior to me leaving the premise I had asked how long the process would take as I would need to come during my lunch break. Ivan immediately said he would take care of it for me and would take no longer than 30 mins. The next day Monday arrives as it was coming close to noon I called to check on the status of my tire. The front desk answered and he had me on hold for roughly 7mins. I hung up and called back again. This time dude asks me for my # and said would call me back as he was busy assisting another customer. Surely as it was close to 1240pm I called back, this time dude said my tire was still en route and will call me when said tire arrived. To my surprise dude called me back around 1pm , told me tire arrived and that I had needed to drop my car off and will get it done before EOD. I said no sir I was advised my tire would be fixed within 30mins. He replied he was just calling me to tell me my tire had arrived ans that I needed to drop my car off as they were swamped. Didn't wanna argue I drove to Mavis. Paid for my tire and explained what was promised to me again FINALLY I saw Ivan and he assisted me right away. Thank you Ivan for your excellent service! Would not recommend coming here, I would rate it a zero if I could. I had a flat tire that needed replacing and everything went well. I left straight after to attend an emergency that came up. I thought all was well until I had another problem where I needed to change my tires to the spare. When I open my trunk there is no spare tire or my wheel lock key. I went back to retrieve my spare tire they forgot to return after weeks. And they couldn't find my wheel lock key and lost it. I do not recommend coming here. Avoid it!!! read more

On a Saturday afternoon, our tire got punctured unexpectedly by hitting a random 'bulge' when parking. I called this Mavis location and Jay advised we bring it in and they can help fix it. I originally brought my car in for an oil change on 6/14, when I got the car back i noticed there had been oil leaking on my driveway when I pulled out the next morning. I brought the car back in to try to resolve the problem, I then got the car back and was assured the problem had been resolved. However over the next 2 weeks there was continued material amount of oil leaking from the car anywhere it had been parked. I then went to another mechanic to get the problem resolved, and they were able to fix the problem (the oil filter had been cracked) and when I tried to have Mavis take care of the bill from the other mechanic I had paid to fix the problem they told me it was not their problem. read more

Came in for some quick work. I provided all the parts and was charged 2 hours of work for something that would take 1 hour. Had no tools my self since I was taken my car all the way down to florida and was leaving that day. Spark plugs changed New ignition wire set and valve cover gasket. I was fine if the work was done and happy to pay the 2 hours if all the work was done. I was charged for the time and expecting everything to be back were it was at. So, why once I get to florida and inspect my car I am missing the bolts that hold my coil pack to the valve cover. On Mother's Day, we had a nail in one of our tires and when we went to mavis in Hicksville there were 2 people working and they were rushing to get the job done. They even printed our receipt on the wrong side of the (as shown in photos) and didn't even reprint2 days later our tire pressure light went on again on the same tire, we filled it w air and it was good for 2 more days, until this morning it was low again. When my husband and I called today, we spoke to Ali (the manager), and he said that if our tire was leaking air again it's because the hole they plugged is too big and we need to buy a new tire. He said that he has never had an issue w their guys doing a bad plug job and said there was no way it was the workers fault on Sunday. We took it to BJ's tire and confirmed that it, in fact, was a crappy plug job. The end of the plug, the rubber was folded over into the tread on the tire, instead of being cut off like it should've been. When I called back a Ali, he was surprised that BJ's was able to replug it no problem and no leaks. He apologized and said the next time we feel like they're not doing a good job (pertaining to their rushed Sunday job) we should say something right away and it would've been taken care of. We felt bad bc it was Mother's Day n they had to work. Tough crap for us bc we were being nice. No refund or partial refund or anything offered, just an, oh well, we will talk to the employee who did the job, and that's it...We will never take our car to them again. read more

I will start my review by saying that not every Mavis is the same and my experience at this location is not what I've experienced at other locations. I notice that my tire light was on and put air in and the next morning I notice the pressure went down again. I would normally bring my car to my home location in Franklin Square but I chose this location out of convenience since I had work in Woodbury. When I arrived I was asked for my license plate number, my name, phone number, and address was confirmed. I was asked if I would be leaving my car or staying. I decided to stay. After about 20 mins I get called to the front and the two men said do you want to give her the bad news. I stated before you start I just recently got tires from Mavis and there is no way I need a new tire. I was told you have 3 new tires but the issue is with the rear driver tire that you did not get from us. Asked what the issue was and I was informed there was a rock in the tire and I needed a completely new tire. There is no way, I may look young, I may look like I don't know much about tires but I know this tire did not need to be replaced. I asked that my tire be put back on as I will not be getting it replaced. I stepped outside to call my husband, I was pissed because there is no way this tore needed to be replaced. My husband told me not to worry and we will get a second opinion. When I came back in I was asked who I was talking to on the phone. What? Excuse me I decided not to reply because I was upset and didn't want to make a scene. I was informed that I have a bill of 14.99 with tax since I decided not to get the work done. I paid and request a receipt. Less than 24 hours later I went and got a second opinion. The tire did not need to be replaced. The rock was able to be removed and the tire was patched. I am extremely disappointed with my experience I normally bring my car to Mavis because I feel like I can trust them and they have my best interest. I understand the store makes a profit on up selling such as having someone get new tires, brakes, windshield wipers, etc. but the truth could've been repaired and not replaced. I will be contacting corporate as their locations should be operating with integrity, and acting like the professional, and correctly educating the consumer. I had tires put on my daughters car in West Hempstead. Tires started losing air recently.She it to Mavis in Hicksville and they stated the valves were bad and the tires needed balancing. The person behind the charged my daughter $65 to replace to cracked valves. He stated the valves weren't new. Why am I'm paying for something that should have been replaced back in November 2022. I spent tons of monety at Mavis over the last 20 years on all of my vehicles and family vehicles. I will never ever support Mavis again. One bad apple spoiled the us. Awful. I got my wife's brakes and all 4 rotors replaced. They took all day and wehn we picked up the car, the car was not stopping pretty much. My wife was able to get it to stop thankfully. When we brought it back, they said someone used the "wrong part". Not too sure how you do that with tires or rotors. Someone could have been seriously hurt by the lack of testing and attention to detail at this shop. Please don't use this location. It's a rip off. After charging $2000 for brake pads and rotors change (which I found out later is very high ) Anthony, manager refused to reset my service light on saying they didn't do oil change service. Until I gave him my credit credit he was very nice.. This place is running a scam.. Anthony also told me that I need to spend another $3000 to fix struts. When I told him I can't spend $5000 to fix my car, he said I can fix pads and rotors for $2000. and I shouldn't have any problem. Now I doubt it if those need to be replaced after I read some of the reviews. Please get another opinion before you do any high cost service in this location. Made a 4:00 appointment for 12/26 on 12/24 & received two emails, one stating thank you for making it, the other saying we're looking forward to see you. Get to Mavis & told they are booked for the day. I explained I made an appointment (for oil change) & the guy at the front said it did not matter. Continued to say I could take you but I don't want to, rather not/ won't take me. I explained I didn't understand because I made an appointment. He explained that just because you make an appointment doesn't mean that you have that appointment. (What does this even mean?!) He said I should have called to confirm (it says no where on the appointment system to call and confirm). How are you going to have an appointment system that isn't an appointment system? He explained that "this is retail" (no it's not, it's a service) - also what is that defense? Horrible service. He also mentioned that they go home at 5- but my appointment was for 4? I had a different representative last time when I got my car inspected and he was lovely, this one was something else. i made an online appointment to save $88 based on the web prices. got to this location and was told my appt was cancelled but Tom (manager) took me in anyways. he also gave me the prices per the internet. luckily i brought in the breakdown that i had printed. the following day the car was pulling to the left so the next business day i called and brought my car in without an issue. they redid the alignment and called me when they finished. i had no issues here. i didnt expect any after the money i dropped here. I had low psi of 8.5 on a tire, inflated it to 34, then next day, it was 28, so I took my car into mavis assuming that I had a slow leak. They said they were backed up and it would be 30-45 minutes. My wife and I waited for 30 minutes, they weren't done still, so we did some grocery shopping and came back. We then came back, and they were still not done. Went home, and 1 hour prior to closing, we called them and asked if the tire was fixed. They said "we are going to look at it now". I said, should I come in? He said yes. Total time elapsed since giving my car was about 4 hours. I arrived, the tire looked the same as when I gave it, I was suspicious. My wife asked "did you fix the tire?" He said "yes". She asked "what was the issue?" He said there was a nail. My wife asked "did you re-inflate to the correct psi?" He said yes. We thanked him and went back home. I went home, checked the psi, it should have been 33 as per the manufacture, but it was 24. I had given them the car at 28 psi, and it actually dropped. I called mavis back and said "are you sure that you fixed the tire?" He said "that's what they told me." I said "why did the psi drop from when I gave it to you?" He said "that's strange, is the tpms light on?" I told him, it's not, but I wanted to know if he really fixed it. I didn't wait for his answer and said I wanted a refund. He said "we are closing now, I can't do that." He said "I can give it to you tomorrow, but only if you come in". I decided to call the corporate office and I left a message with them. Came in because I had a flat, and was treated like a price of garbage by the Caucasian heavy set man up front, as well as the Caucasian middle aged man who works in the garage. To make matters worse, after I decline to put any money into these despicable beings pocket, they put my spare on, and threw my flat tire in my back seat like it was garbage. Couldn't even have the decency to put it back in the trunk compartment. As I drove away, these men mumbled racial slurs to me. 9 minutes ago This is the second time I went to this shop only out of convenience. First time was for a inspection and they called me not even 10 minutes later saying I failed due to my emergency brake not working..when I get in the car I pulled me emergency brake n put it in drive n gave it gas n the car did not budge....they tried telling me my motor mounts were bad and I needed new ball joints ....I'm a mechanic for the last 10 years on n off. N I know there was nothing wrong with the car that it should fail. But pure laziness and not enough money they didn't want to be bothered. Then I went back today for a wheel alignment and same thing 10 min later I was called and said the bolts are rusty and they cant loosen them.... so i came back and offered to loosen them myself and they said no. When I got back to my car I checked it over to see what the issue is .and they stripped my tie rod bolts by not using the correct size and then tried to argue with me saying it was like that.....worst place ever I'm gunna find a local shop with the machines needed to deal with the jobs I can't do... I'm calling a lawyer on Monday to see if I have a case with them for causing damage to the car because now it's gunna cost me hundreds for a simple job....and the front desk employee is a smug pompous person who walked away when I brought up the damage DO NOT GOT TO THIS SHOP IN HICKSVILLE ON BROADWAY ...STAY AWAY read more

When I picked up my work van on Sat morning - I felt the alignment wasn't done but I was charged - I had to wait until the next day to bring it back in at which time they told me they didn't complete it b/c they didn't have the tool (but they charged me) Sunday they never looked at it and I picked it up for work on Monday -on Mon I raced home from work dropped it off for the third time - I called at 6pm (when they close) to pick it up and again they never looked at it - they lied and said they thought I was picking it up the next day. He told me to get all new tires and get a deal which I do not need. I went to another tire discount shop and had the tire patched for $20. Also, Nasir damaged the tire more. He scratched the tires. I noticed my car seats had been damaged after Nasir looked inside my car which was odd he had to look inside my car. read more

I have used Mavis tire for years. I've only used this location like once or twice before. However my last visit was for a state inspection. No issues with the car, passed no problems. Its a car i drive maybe 20 miles a day because i work locally. Its been 2 months since my inspection and I started hearing a noise. Had it checked out at a shop near my job and they said my left rear lug nuts were all loose. The same lug nuts I saw Mavis Tire take off for my inspection. No one else has touched my car since they did for the inspection. Unprofessional on Mavis behalf. Had i used my car more i would have found this at much faster. Im just lucky my wheel didn't fall off due to Mavis' incompetence. read more

2 months ago they patched my front tire. The other day I arrived at 530pm, they close at 6pm, because that tire had low pressure. They told me they shut the compressor off and had to come back tomorrow. The next day my daughter brought the car. They told her all 4 tires were low and that I needed new brakes and rotors. I told my daughter all we need is air. When she came home, she said the charged me $20 for air. This is the definition of crook who takes advantage of young kids. Only bad thing is that an appointment here and other Mavis locations really means nothing. They take customers as they come in so if they are busy when you come in I suggest you just come back another time. Another issue is that automatically replace the rotors without even looking at them. You don't need new rotors every time you get new pads. It is just a tactic to inflate the bill. Other Mavis locations start with well your rotors are rusty. LoL ... Most rotors are rusty as they are exposed to the elements. So don't fall for that one either. read more
