Visit Date: January 15, 2023f I have the worst tire luck hopefully after this minor incident it will improve because I'm still trying to recoup from the great tire debacle of 2021 where I think I put 5 to 8 new tires on my car no joke. I just got new tires from firestone. One got a nail in it they are under warranty so that one I had to wait but the levittown firestone fixed it. Last night after leaving work I noticed my tire pressure was low. The tire pressure light in my car is the bain of my existence. This morning you would think I would have given myself plenty of time I drove to levittown firestone because sometimes none of the damn firestones answer their phones. Their tire fixing machine was broken so they sent me to westbury. Westbury was a two hour wait. I called massapequa same two hour wait. Finally I called mavis and they told me this location could fix the tire as soon as they possibly could once I got there. I hurried over and got my tire plugged and was on my way to work and luckily made it on time. I missed my chance to do some uber runs because that's my second side hustle but I'll do them tonight after I go to my friend's house for awhile. This is the second time in my car life that firestone kind of let me down and Mavis picked up the pieces. So I'm done with firestone, MAVIS it is! read more

Well, after exhausting many of the local Mavis locations, I finally landed on a decent one. I made an appointment to replace 2 rear tires. I braced myself for some sort of confrontation- see the Hicksville location. The person I spoke to was nice and professional in taking the order. They finished in less than an hour. I did not get pressured for buying other services (a staple at most Mavis locations) and best of all, the location was CLEAN!!! My experience with most locations is they are dingy and unkempt. This one is laid out nice, the techs are clean and so is the location in general. Mavis corporate needs to understand that a clean location and low pressure will yield a loyal customer. read more

Came in 1.5 hours before they closed for an inspection. All and I repeat All the mechanics where on their phones with ZERO cars in their bays. Manager was chatting outside with a friend and wouldn't acknowledge me. I asked for an inspection and he said tomorrow, I pleaded with him that I needed one today and no one is working. He walks away and yells at me I SAID TOMORROW! Now I know we all like to cut out a little early sometimes but come on, grab 2 mechanics, pull the car in check it out and bang this out in 15 min and get a blazing review and feel good you did something. Driving along Hempstead Tpke in East Meadow when the dreaded Low Tire Pressure light popped up on my dashboard. Luckily a Mavis tire store was a block away as I had no desire to change a tire in the rain. I pulled in and explained the problem and they took my car in right away. The technician raised my car up on the lift and began to inspect my tires. The shop has a pleasant waiting area with a wide screen tv and a clean bathroom. A few minutes later my car was pulled up in front. The technician came in with my keys and said that all 4 tires had low pressure and there was no puncture but that sometimes when the weather gets cooler the pressure in the tires lower. He said he filled all 4 tires to the recommended capacity and I was ready to go. I asked him how much do I owe them and he said no charge. Needles to say I was grateful and next time I need tires I will go straight to Mavis in East Meadow. read more

He is always honest with the work that needs to get done or if not necessary he will tell you that. They don't look to just do work that's not needed or try to just get your money. This place is a ripoff, they got me with brakes and rotors. 4 months later I'm replacing brakes and rotors for half the price including labor. Had an appointment and it did even matter, they took my keys and had me sitting there all day. It's was to late to go anywhere else. And to add insult to injury...they had the nerve to take a lunch break after they pulled my car into the bay. I don't think they ever replaced my brakes and rotors...I think they just cleaned them. This is for the mavis located in bergenfield, N.J I have been coming to this place for about 25 yrs. Even before it was mavis. Everytime I go there recently, I've had so many problems. The new so called manager tito was so nice when he first started. This afternoon I went to pick up my car and it was a whole new story. First he TELLS me I have 1 free oil change. Wrong because I spoke to someone at corporate office and there's 2. I've had so many problems that the district manager gave them to me. Now he's telling me that I can't look at the work order because it's his not mine. I just wanted to make sure that they did the tire rotation. Then he tells me that the voucher that says free conventional oil change is wrong. So i asked him what kind of oil did he put on the car? He said I did the right oil. It's not about the money, it's how you are treated. The turn around for employees here is crazy. I know it's a stressful job. But you do not treat people this way. I bring all 4 of our cars here and the reason is because I've purchased all our tires here and have had brakes done here. So I'm kind of stuck with all the warranties that come with everything. Maybe a different location. I wouldn't and have told people NOT to come here. A few times I dropped off cars at 8 am. And not get it back until 3 maybe 4 o'clock. One time the did my brakes and I was driving. Things were coming out of my tire area. And another time the mechanic DION told me that I needed a new rim. So I go to order it and bring it in. Javier the manager at that time said that my tire had a whole in it and that I didn't need a rim. Mind you my car was there for days There are way too many other things. Turned out that I had a slow leak due to a huge nail (ugh). I called these guys and was able to get an appointment the same day! They took out the nail, patched it up in less than 30 minutes. My car needed to get new tire and I called in two days before to check if they have it and they made a reservation for me. I came on a Sunday and they were busy. I told them to put airs in my tires but they never did and worse of all they gave me the wrong tire size! I knew something was wrong when my steering wheel was steering to the right and not aligned. I called the next day and they proceed to put the fault on me because I "gave the wrong size." I'm pretty sure you can see what size tires I had before because I purchased the same tires a year ago and obviously you can't do a wheel alignment with two different size tires!!! I travel long distance from Long Island to queens and went back immediately and they told me to come back the next day even though I called the previous day and they told me to come back next morning. I did and they supposedly had a gas leak. I've never experienced this before. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE..MESSED UP MY WHEELS SO BAD.. brought in my car for oil change tire rotation and inspection.. 3 hours later it was finished..took the car home .. went to work the next.. shaking horrible on the highway.. went right back to them.. one worker helped me.. told me 4 studs were broken and lost 8 of my lug nuts.. and they have to order the parts..told me to call the next day to see if the parts came in.. I did call..they told me they were in..I went in the next day.. was treated like crap.. I was talking to the manager to tell her what happened..she just walked away into the shop while I was talking..was there for 2 hours.. told the car was finish..this time I looked at the wheels.. all mismatched lug nuts were put on the car with still 4 missing.... went back into the shop not 1 employee came up to me..not 1 other customer in the shop.. I went outside started taking pics of the wheels.. then finally 1 employee came out.. I told him I'm not taking the car like this.. he said they don't have the parts to fix it.. I told him I'll wait while you get them..didn't want to lose a 3rd day of work.. 2 hours later they took the car back in all they did was replace the lug nuts.. tossed the keys at me and said ur done..drove it home.. still shaking horribly. Had to take it to a real mechanic.. who said "your wheels are a mess".. so he fixed them.. 250 bucks later for a mechanic that knows what they are doing and the original 150 at this so called tire shop to mess up my wheels and losing 2 days of work....I totally regret going there.. and not to mention.. being treated like shit.. this place should be closed down.. read more

Stay away from MAVIS. They lack professionalism and knowledge. All they do is BS. Phil tells you what you want to hear claiming he is your friend and saying he will "take care of you" I took my SUV a couple of months ago to get an oil change and of course they do the multi point inspection. It's their way to look to see where they can get the most money from you. They said I needed front suspension because it was shot and that it would cost $1000 dollars. I had no choice but to OK because they emphasized it was "unsafe" for me to drive the vehicle. Right? To make a long story short. A couple of weeks later my truck started making a popping sound from the front. Brought it back to them. Jose said he will take a look at it and test drive it and see whats going on. One of the Bay tech looked at it and focused at the front end. Half an hour later Jose calls me over and says there is nothing wrong all that we did fine. And ask that I bring it back on Tuesday when Phil is back. I asked what is he going to do? just reiterate what you just said.? He laughed and walked away. The following week I went to a local shop for my NYS inspection where they informed me that I have bad sway-bar bushings and a bad wheel bearing that was already so bad it was tapping the axle. A VERY SERIOUS problem that put my life and the life of other drivers in EXTREME DANGER because my wheel could have fallen off the SUV. This just tells you how very little they know about auto repairs. If you though well maybe there is something wrong with me and not MAVIS think again, 2 weeks later my mom goes in for new tires and wheel sensor. They sold her the crappiest tires for the most money. Driving home she hears a metal on metal sound from the front end. Brought it back the next day they said her sway-bar links were broken and that she needed NEW ones. WOW and they didn't see this the day before? Really? Please connect the DOTS...I can take legal action against this place they are horrible Give your business to a local shop which will help our local economy. STAY AWAY FROM MAVIS. I told him I was going to get one more estimate. He then said that since I'm a returning customer, he could give a 10% discount. However, when I got to the store, I was told that my vehicle needed a different tire ($70 higher in price). The bait and switch! I brought my boyfriend's car for an inspection while he is on military leave. During his one pass day home he had gone into Mavis to get his inspection but he had just changed his battery so we had to put some mileage on the car before coming back. My boyfriend mentioned I would have to come back the next day and the guys he spoke with (he didn't get names, but he pretty much spoke to everyone there) were so great about it. Thanks to STS East Meadow my car is in perfect condition. coming from a family of mechanics I knew what needed to be done just did not want to do it myself. Liz and the crew were the most honest people I have ever dealt with. They got me the best deals around. They had replaced my struts and my radiator had cracked so they replaced that. they fixed my rims because they had been dented and cracked. Had them back with in the week.
