My husband and I recently had four tires installed and an oil change at Mavis Tire in Alachua, and once again, we were extremely pleased with our experience. We have been customers since Mavis first opened, and they continue to impress us! Our tires were in stock, and we were able to get an appointment quickly. When we arrived, the shop was very busy, but we were greeted right away and treated with such courtesy and professionalism. We left our car with them and were given an estimated time for it to be ready. To our surprise, they called us earlier than expected to let us know our car was finished! A special thank you to Boyce and Kerrie! They were both absolutely wonderful. Their friendliness, professionalism, and genuine concern for their customers really stood out. They went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly. Mavis Tire is truly lucky to have Boyce and Kerrie on their team! Employees like these two are what make customers want to keep coming back. In a world where good customer service can sometimes be hard to find, they are a breath of fresh air! Horrible experience here. Had an 8:00 appointment, I was the first person to walk through the door. I was scheduled to get three tires replaced. Watched three other walk ins needing tires replaced get serviced before my vehicle was. The entire appointment took 3 hours to replace 3 tires, and they tried to upsell me twice during the 3 hours. Finally, I demanded my vehicle back and asked the Manager what took so long. He stated that he had a new technician learning on the job. I asked him about a discount due to the extended wait time and walk-ins being serviced before me and he said there would be no discount. I would never recommend this particular location to anyone that needs service quickly. Very poor customer service, I know if I make someone wait 2X or 3X longer than they should have waited then I would issue my deepest apologies and a discount. The male Manager at this store did neither he just stood there with a confused look on his face as to why I was asking for a discount. DON'T GO HERE IF YOU ARE TRYING TO GET BACK ON THE ROAD QUICKLY. read more

look- i know autoshops don't have great reviews and everyone has a difference of opinion based on the service they get. We happened to get excellent service. We were driving on the highway, this Mavis has an excellent location, on the way up north when we ran over a random tire in the middle of the road. it Damaged some parts of the car. we went there on a Saturday. It was pretty busy. Service was polite and excellent. We got seen rather quickly and we really appreciate that. The guy who worked on our car, I'm not sure his name, was friendly and fast and efficient and accurate. I wish I'd gotten his name, but he was a very nice, fit, bald Caucasian male. he knew a lot about cars and made our experience and our time worth it. I wish I had gotten his name :/ we had an excellent experience there. Plus the auto shop is clean. They have a nice area and there's plenty of parking. All in all, given the necessity and the time crunch we had we had an excellent experience here! read more

Four hours waiting for a scheduled appointment only to be told after they did the alignment that they recommended struts,shocks and the inner tire rods were seized. No reputable mechanic should complete an alignment if that was the case without informing the customer prior. Now I get to take it to another mechanic to have that work done and it will have to be aligned again upon completion. They made a point to suggest brake flushing and windshield wipers while waiting for the alignment bay but made no attempt to inform me of the mechanical needs. Makes no sense to me! Will be happy to take their recommendation elsewhere. Save yourself the aggravation by going a few miles up the road to High Springs!!!​ read more

When we got a flat tire, Mavis Tires and Brakes was the closet shop. Edward knows what good customer service is all about! He was very kind and didn't make us feel like we were an inconvenience to him, even though they were already very busy. He got us in and out of there by the time he promised. 8 minutes ago NEW 0 stars if I could. Made an appt for 11am. Car was delivered to them at 8:15am. Called at 12pm and they told me it was the next car to be pulled. Did not hear from them, called back at 2:45pm. Was told it was the next car in and would be done by 4pm. We showed up at 4pm and the car was still in the parking lot untouched. Talked to Christie who straight up lied to our face saying that she had no idea where the 4 PM promise came from. Keep in mind, I set up an 11am appt. We got out keys and left. This is TERRIBLE customer service and they will lie your face. read more

We were traveling from Georgia to South Florida and realized our splash guard was not attached. We pulled off the exit and saw that Mavis was close by the blonde hair gentleman at the counter was so helpful. He immediately had our vehicle on the lift and they got the gaurd reattached. We waited at the counter to see what our total was and he got us back on the road free of charge. Definitely don't get service like that very often anymore. I know it is a tempting funny looking building that draws you in, it is just part of the latest money tourist trap near the Highway, prepare yourself for an all-day wait, 10 hours of wasted time for me plus two alignments and then another 4.5 more hours the next day and another alignment that left my vehicle in worst condition as when arrived, with all the time I spent at the place I seen three other customers having their own long waits and complaints, the shop is new and management said they are still working out some kinks, is it possible that the alignment racks need to be recalibrated ? also, if I didn't notice and point out an overcharge, they would have got away with it, don't go to the place, it should be shut down and torn down, plant trees, put the forest back, the place is a tourist trap read more

We traveled from North Georgia to our home town (7hrs) for our grandson's graduation. At 2AM in Cordell, GA we had a flat because of a bolt that was on the interstate. We manage to make it to our daughter's home after a self patch and many stops at the air station and went to the first tire shop we found. The tire could not be patched as we thought and decided to buy a whole set of brand new tires because of the long ride home with Grandaughters. Biggest mistake of our lives! The Mavis employee told us that he couldn't mount the new tires on the existing rims (2014 Silverado with only 70,000 miles on it) because 2 of the rims were bent. They had no rims so we had to search for rims. Found a deal on rims and tires that had just been taken off a new Silverado. Took them back to Mavis to be put on. They said the tires would not fit. My husband proceeded to put one of the tires on to show they would fit. Christy, the manager came out and told him he could not do that. They finally put the bought rims and tires on the truck so we could make it to the graduation and home. Had to return the next morning for an alignment that took half a day since they had to do it more than once. Upon reaching home I set up an appointment with our usual tire guy to get things checked out. Turns out that neither rim was bent, when Mavis balanced the new Mavis tires we bought they weighted the tires too much on one side and counter balanced with more weight on the other side on ALL the tires Mavis tried to install. We paid for an alignment at Mavis that they supposedly did 3 times and it was not done correctly. At no time did Mavis offer to take the tires back that we bought from them. So we ended up with a new set of Mavis tires and a set of rims and tires. We drove back on the tires with rims that did not come from Mavis. The Mavis tires were in the bed of the truck doing no good! Mavis was not helpful in such a drastic situation at all. When the manager,Christy was told we had to hurry because we had to make it to the graduation, she replied, "we are open until 8". So, I have been waiting for Christy to speak to Joe the regional manager. I do not think we should be charged for services that were not done correctly. The balancing of the tires or the alignment. Joe is only willing to refund the amount for balancing when in all fairness we should only have to pay for the tires. I will be calling the corporate office as on the receipt it states be 100% satisfied with service. Will let you know how it turns out. read more
