I had an 8:00am appointment to get 2 new tires put on my vehicle. I sat there for almost an hour just for them tell me that my tires will not be in until 3. Mind you I set my appointment days prior and that early, so I can get on the road in time. For my inconvenience all the manager could do was take off $20 until she started feeling bad she then offered to give me an oil change with a $40 discount. I told her I get my oil changes elsewhere. She offered the next 2 balance and rotation on my tires for free. He had to put my tires back on. Why not check the inventory before hand? I canceled the appointment and politely asked for my deposit to be refunded. Then my tire pressure light keeps coming on. They don't have to worry about me ever again. read more

I had my gf drop our car off here initially for an alignment and new brakes, rotors and tires. At this point the car drove fine other than pulling to the left a little. On the first day in the shop, she was there from open until close and was told to bring it back another day because the person that brings the shops parts, repeatedly kept bringing the wrong parts. Multiple, multiple times! The second visit to the shop went exactly like the first, from open until close, wrong parts supposedly kept getting delivered etc. at the end of this day she was told to bring it back in and it would take about 30 minutes to finish everything up. Third visit to the shop, it did not take 30 minutes, it took almost 2 hours causing me to be an hour late to work and was told to bring it back another day. After driving it for a little bit I went to stop, and the car started jerking and making horrible noises, and as I went to take off from the stop the car wouldn't go and suddenly there was a loud noise like something broke loose. Took the car back to the shop and told them what was happening and was assured that they would do a full point inspection and have everything fixed up by the end of the day. Later that afternoon we got the call to come get the car and that it was all fixed up, and good to go. Picked the car up and while the brakes aren't seizing up anymore, it's still making all kinds of noise, so we took it to the Tifton location, and they tell us that something is wrong with the struts and that the other shop should have noticed this and told us about it. All I know is before I took my car to Mavis, it drove quietly and just needed an alignment, tires, brakes and rotors. I gave them $1,600 and now my car sounds like it's falling apart, and I no longer feel safe driving it!!! read more

Driving down to Florida, we had to stop here because of a nail in the tire. The man we worked with took one look at us and said we would need a new tire. Without even looking at the tire. We asked him to look first to see if it could be patched as the nail was in the middle of the tread, the tire was not losing air, and was already verified by my husband and father that it likely could be fixed. The man we worked with was condescending, rude, and only wanted to profit off of our problem- a new tire would only cost us $300. Recommended by a Walmart worker, we ended up at a small local tire shop further into town. We pulled into the Cordell tire shop, we were greeted by a friendly face, and they immediately pulled our tire off and got it fixed. I normally don't do this but I had an abysmally poor service experience at Kauffman Tire in Albany. I made an appointment with them for 10:00 AM yesterday and they called indicating the tires had not been delivered. They called at 11:15 saying the tires were in and I had the car in by 12:15. They said to expect a three hour wait. As bad as this sounds, my actual wait was more than five hours. The last time I had tires installed it took one hour. And the fact that they cancelled my appointment cut me no slack whatsoever. Anyway, lesson learned, and I hope you can benefit from my experience. read more

Appt was for 130 at 200 was told we only have 3 of the tires you want and the price was 700 instead of the 600 quoted over the phone. As it's already to late to make an appointment anywhere else during the holiday I agreed to let let them put the 3 on and come back for the 4th in 2 weeks . At this point I become aware of the store condition and lackluster performance of the desk staff. Called for a price on a set of tires. Gave a price on Falkens. I then asked about Coopers. Gave that price. Then it was 21 questions like a high pressure vacuum salesman. When I didn't say I'd come in right away, suddenly he could give me a 10% discount on the Falkens. When I told him I was just pricing and looking for best prices, he went into a diatribe about how he's trying to help me and earn my business but I'm not helping. Just because I wouldn't commit to buying right then! I told him he was underhanded because if I would've bought the Falkens at the first price he would never have given me the other. HONEST businesses give you their best price the first time and don't berate you for price checking. Stay away from here. I'll spend my $1000 somewhere else. read more

Good morning framily!! The one star was mandatory!! They are owed, NO STARS!!! Boy do I have a story to tell and it's lengthy. I know some of you may remember me saying I spent 1,000.00$ for what I thought was just gonna be a routine oil change. Well I went to Mavis Discount Tire in Albany GA and they supposedly put rear shocks on my car right, wrong. Well they may have put the shock but not properly. They patched it and did a dangerously botched job. You know the NYC streets are not for weak but for the strong so the botched job couldn't hold up. I try to find the lesson and blessing in all things. I traveled the highway alone for miles and He kept me, I traveled the road with my child, grandchild and great grandchild yesterday to memorialize family and He kept us safe from harm. I heard the knocking under my car and took it to a local Mavis in the Bronx and he enlightened me to what the problem was so I then had to leave my car, rent a car, drive to Delaware, take my daughter to Maryland to meet my niece and nephew, so shout out to them for their sacrifice then get my daughter a flight so she could get home bcse she has to go to work. I arrived to lay my weary body down at 1:00am here in Delaware after rising at 4:30 yesterday to start a very emotional day. I'm thankful and grateful that although those were unexpected cost I had to endure it was a blessing to be able to. You best believe though I have every receipt and I will be speaking to Mavis's Corporate office on tomorrow for reimbursement of every red cent. I was emotionally spent when the guy showed me what the problem was especially after knowing I had told the guys in Georgia that I'd be traveling to NY and most of my driving would be alone and they assured me that I would be good. I thank God for His faithfulness and keeping power, I thank those that prayed for my every mile I traveled. I know God kept me and I know He supplied my every need. My Mom used to always say try to keep some coins or a credit card (as much as we don't like them) for mishaps. I'm still livid with them guys in Georgia bcse they could have really cost me much more than some coins. I have a friend that told me I should've had him to go with me so that he could've checked the work. I wish he would've bcse he would've caught this whole situation probably before I even left Albany GA. I've got to get back to NY when my car is ready then drive all the way back home alone. Too bad I can't rate this company a zero because they certainly aren't deserving of even 1 star. My mom went in for an oil change and tire inspection because he tire pressure light was on. They told her that her tires were fine and that she did not need new tires which she thought was a relief, then charged her $300 for an oil change and to flush her engine! It seems they are notorious for long wait times, she waited 5 hours! Obviously it seems the waits are so long so they can charge a lot of labor time. She gets into her car to leave and the tire pressure light is still on! She goes back inside and one of the techs comes out and says that one of the tire's air is extremely low, so he puts some air in it. How did they do a tire inspection and a full service and not check the air in her tires?! read more

They called me and said I needed a front in alignment and some other repairs but it took 25-30 minutes me waiting on the phone to get a quote??? the quote I received was $600. I didn't feel good about it so much took my car elsewhere. IT WAS JUST THE MILEAGE ODOMETER THAT HAD BEEN RESET!!! The other place didn't charge me anything . My daughter took her car there to get a new tire on 11/23/21 paid for the tire when she got in to the car to leave she find out she has No brakes. Was told on 11/23 she has a busted brake line (HOW IS THAT WHEN IT WAS DRIVING IN WITHOUT A BUSTED LINE ??? Was told they could fix the problem ok great I say . Well days went by and a week goes by and they say they can't fix it . Frustrated / upset at this point was lied to about the whole situation so the car was towed to the dealership waiting for parts . MAVIS !!!!! Is NOT THE PLACE TO TAKE YOUR CAR TO FOR ANYTHING PLEASE MAAM AND SIRS TAKE YOUR CAR SOMEPLACE ELSE !!!! The manager told me all my daughter had to do was put fluid in it and drive it MIND YOU !!!! Busted brake line in the side of the car where they replaced a tire . Any manager knows Not to tell a customer to do something like that unsafe not this GUY NOT A PROFESSIONAL GUY AT ALL . I would zero star if possible. Called and setup an order/install yesterday for 4 new tires. Asked how long it would take on phone and guy said 2 hours max. Dropped my car off today at 1:45pm and employee looked up my information, confirmed my order details and took my keys. I left Mavis. Had not received a call after 3 hours of waiting. Called shop at 5pm to check if my car was ready. Was put on hold for a few minutes, same employee picked up and asked me again what I was calling about. Again I asked for status of my car. I was put on hold again while they check. After 10 minutes on hold an employee in garage answered and asked what I was calling for. Told him I wanted to know the status of my car. He said they didn't even have tires that fit my car in stock, they had not pulled my vehicle into the shop since I dropped it off, and they were "understaffed". I asked why I wasn't notified of this when I dropped my car off. The garage employee asked to put me on hold again. I objected to being put on hold and employee handed phone to a "manager". Manager said it was the "call center's fault". Apparently all call orders are routed to a remote call center. Manager said call center "doesn't know what they have in stock". Manager said they had "several similar issues with other customers this week" and wouldn't be able to get to it today. So after an onsite employee confirmed the details of my tire order and took my keys from me ALL FOUR tires were somehow out of stock. I voiced my frustrations with him and he hung up the phone. Called back and same Manager picked up. Told me he hung up because I was "getting an attitude with him". Then offered to upgrade me to 3 "better tires" and put on the 4th at a later time. It was already after 5pm and they close at 6pm. They wouldn't be able to do it today but could tomorrow. I'm leaving town tomorrow and I needed this work done today. Call center confirmed stock and order, employee on site checked me in and confirmed my order, and somehow my tire order was out of stock after my car had been on site for 3 hours. I was only being notified of this after I called in. I'm not coming back twice for 3 tires and maybe a 4th tire when it's back in stock. Drove to Mavis and stood in lobby for 10 minutes waiting to get my keys so I could take my car back. No employees in lobby or indoor office, no one greeted me, and no one came into building during this time. Walked into garage and saw my keys on computer desk in garage. Grabbed them myself and left with my car which was parked exactly where I left it 3 hours ago. Called Mavis corporate line to cancel order and verify manager's claims. Mavis representative said the call centers HAVE FULL ABILITY TO CHECK IN STOCK INVENTORY and they didn't understand why my order couldn't be fulfilled today. So someone's lying. Avoid Mavis. Poor management and terrible customer service. read more
