Will straight up tell you they (Mavis) will put on dangerous parts knowing you will be back for the upsell. Both guys claimed to be the manager and neither were very pleasant to work with. their attitude and the conduct of garage personnel made it easy for me to take my vehicle back from them and to a place more competent. James and Cody saved our day. We had a rental minivan with a slow leak. The rental company said to go to BWI for a replacement van, almost two hours away. I talked with the rental company about that, and they then agreed to cover a repair. Not being from the area, I found a place about ten minutes away. On the route we came upon Mavis Tire first. I explained the situation to James, who then took the van in and found a screw in the tire. Cody came out and told us it was repairable and had us on our way in twenty minutes. My state inspection was expiring and my first thought was to contact Mavis to set up an appointment. I called and was offered a same day appointment. However, I made an appointment for the following week. Erin was kind, knowledgeable and very patient. My car needed Front tires and wipers to pass inspection. Reasonable prices for tires and had variety to choose from that were in stock. I had a question about my previous tires and they took me to the mechanic and showed me the wear and tear that was present. I have purchased my last set of tires previously from the same location. At first they were friendly. Until I bought my tires and drove 50 miles and had a complete sidewalk blow out. Chris never once offered me the road hazard warranty and says he did I asked for the audio I want to hear it and he wouldn't check even though he said he would. He also says there's no such thing as a factory defect and if you ask for corporates number he won't give it to you. It's obvious the customer isn't Chris's priority the blowout could have killed me or someone else. If you know what your talking about he try's to get smart with you I guess that's why discount is in the name because they can spend money on training for customer service . They diagnosed a problem on my car incorrectly and told me to order specific parts from a junk yard so they'd be cheaper. I did exactly that, for $542. Turns out the car was totaled. They didn't bill me labor for their mistake, so I will credit them that. But the honest thing to do is cover the whole effect of their mistake - parts included. And even if I return the parts, I'm still out $300-400 because of labor and shipping to get the parts. $542 that should've gone to a new car, had they done their job right in the first place. Wouldn't ever take a car here again, even if it was the last mechanic shop in Chambersburg. read more

This review is in regard to a 2018 Jeep renegade with 23xxx miles. California car - Practically new. Brought in the winter tires I purchased to be mounted and balanced. The technicians working on the vehicle were unable to remove my wheels. I was told by the duty manager "if we try further to remove them we run the risk of breaking something". Being a mechanic myself, but unable to mount and balance my own tires due to lack of equipment, I told them I would go back to my shop, remove them and bring them the wheels and tires to complete the work. Upon arriving back at my shop it was obvious by the condition of the wheel stud heads the wrong size socket was used. The wheel studs have a press fit cap on the head that is normally removed with the stud when done correctly. The caps, due to incorrect tools/technique were now stripped and spinning on the hex head underneath. While extracting the now useless wheel studs I found two of them had been partially removed before the hex head cap stripped. A loose tire is extremely dangerous and my wife and I drove home with it like that as we were told the technicians had "tightened it" back up. After calling the shop with my findings, they were at first helpful and offered to pay for the wheel studs, however, they offered nothing in the way of compensation for my labor to fix the issue they caused or the day of work I'll loose since the vehicle can not be driven until replacement wheel studs arrive via mail as none were available locally. I also asked the on duty manager to pass along my number to the store manager so we could speak about this matter further, but he could not be bothered with a serious customer/safety issue on a Sunday and choose not to return my call. As a supervisor myself, I would have taken customer and safety concerns very seriously and taken a few minutes out of my day off to handle the issues my team had caused. I hope the store DM reads this and has a talk with his techs, on duty manager, and store manager. Very poor showing for a tire business and even worse for the store manager choosing not to deal with an issue on his day off. My final thoughts are that I'm thankful I'm a mechanic. You or a loved one that lacked the experience or tools to identity this blunder could have continued to drive on the loose wheel and had potentially fatal accident at highway speed as a result of not being immediately addressed. Use this business with caution. Convenient hours and prices aren't worth you or a loved ones safety. read more

I went in for 2 tires and was very pleased with the service I received. The new manager, James Caryle, was very friendly and knowledgeable about their products, and gave me an upgrade at no charge when he found out the tires I had picked out were not in stock. Unlike other tire places I've been to, no one tried to pressure me into additional purchases or services for my car, which I really appreciated. The facility is clean and the people who work there were professional. I returned this week for an unexpected oil change and they were friendly and fast. Highly recommend! We are from out of town and got a flat, we called and they said they could fit it. We thought it would take awhile so we even brought our lunch to eat there but they took great care of us and got us right in fixed our tire less than 30 mins. We appreciated the quick turn around time as we were traveling to meet people. The facility was super clean and had a nice kid area for our baby to play in. Everyone there especially Terry was super friendly. It was so nice to see people taking care of their customers and being friendly you don't get that too often anymore and Terry was so wonderful to us. read more

My truck needed new tires I shopped the Chambersburg Pa area and Mavis Tire offer me the best deal they had to order the tires and a week later they came in and put them on my truck and they told me that they are a full service garage and I told them I would be happy to bring my truck here services. A week later I returned for a oil change Brian the shop foreman waited on me at the time not really a friendly guy acted like he really didn't want to be there, well my oil got changed and I was on my way. Returned there again for a long over due oil change and my oil filter was leaking I told them about but never once blamed them. They took my truck in and put it on a lift while waiting in the lobby the assistant manager came to me and said they were not going to touch my truck and I said who he said Brian the shop foreman said my oil pan drain plug was stripped and I needed to take it to the dealer I wanted to talk to Chris the manager but he wasn't around at the time. The next day I returned and finally talked to Chris and told him the problem and never knew that they didn't change the oil so he looked for Brian and Brian still refused to touch it. So Chris had the assistant manager and a worker take my truck and changed my oil and everything was fine after that I paid the full price and before I left I said I want to comeback to guys and the manager and assistant manager said sure no problem. On December 9 about 315pm I returned for a oil changed and tire rotation they said it be a hour and a half wait and I noticed Brian shake his head to the assistant manager and so he went out in the garage area and came back in and said the Brian refused to touch my truck and said it had a lot of problems and I looked at Brian in the shop and he stood there and smiled and laughed at me. What type of shop foreman is he to smile and laugh at customer's like that and refusing to work on there vehicles he should be fired on the spot and when I there for my new tires he got off the phone with the regional manager and was bad mouthing them in from of other customers. I called the corporate office and they took my phone number and the regional manager is supposed to give me a call. And Brian I hope your reading this the way you smiling and laughing at me I was going to ask you to step outside and I would of definitely wipe that smile off your face. I hope the owner calls me but Mavis Tire in Chambersburg Pa lost my business because of Brian again he needs to be fired on the spot. read more
