I am extremely disappointed with the level of customer service I received during my visit. Unfortunately, the poor service was consistent from the front register staff to the supervisors. I attempted to ask a simple question, but instead of receiving assistance, I was met with unprofessional attitudes and a lack of communication. An employee in the service department even told me he could not speak with me because he was "in hot water" with his supervisors and was not allowed to communicate with customers. That is an internal management issue that should never affect a customer's experience. The overall atmosphere in the store was very negative. From the moment I walked in, the employees appeared frustrated, unfriendly, and unwilling to help. It created an uncomfortable environment and reflected poorly on the business. In addition, I believe the store would benefit from better-trained staff who are knowledgeable about the products and services they are responsible for assisting customers with. Customers should be able to ask questions and receive accurate information from courteous, professional employees. I hope management takes this feedback seriously by addressing the customer service culture, improving employee training, and ensuring customers are treated with respect and professionalism. read more

Quoted $112 after call where I specified oil type and quantity which sounded correct so I told them I would come by today. Arrived on lunch break and told them I needed to get in and out fast as possible. There were no cars there when I arrived. They clearly did not check for the specific oil as when I arrived, they said they were out of stock. I waited 35-40 minutes for them to get some from auto parts store 5 minutes away and the price was passed on to me because they had to "order" this oil. I left paying $150 for an oil change that took almost an hour and a half. I will not be back here again. Hopefully this is not everyone else's experience because they staff were kind. read more

Bought 2 tires in 8/20 and 2 in 1/22 with tire balance package. Today I asked to balance them. Told they were too old and dry rotting and would not. I told the manager and she supported the employee. I looked closely with a flashlight and no signs of anything. Look almost new. This is a SCAM to not honor a service. The employee said he would balance if they weren't old. Absolutely no signs of cracking or brittle rubber. Nothing to indicate being unsafe or rotting. The public should be aware of their failure to be honest. read more

I came in 2 weeks ago for balancing on all 4 tires & a rotation. Within a few days I noticed my vehicle still had a terrible shake. My husband took my vehicle to another shop where it was determined only 1 out 4 tires were balanced correctly. The rest were DOUBLE weighted and I spent $107 on this service with Mavis. I called today and Rashawna answered the phone & immediately starting questions why i didnt bring it back to them with the nastiest attidude. I asked her to calm down & allow me the opportunity to explain and she hangs up in my face. I did not yell at her nor use profanity. When i attempted to call back she picked up & hung up again. I called back a 3rd time & she answered and I asked if she hung up in my face & she said I sure did & imma let the manager talk to you bc Im not! I asked for the manager to begin with! She is very very incompetent and disrespectful! The manager Leann was friendly but for Rashawna to speak to a customer like that in front of her tells me all I need to know. Proceed with caution when allowing this company to service your vehicle. Incompetence all around. Mavis Tire in Clinton is a scam!!! They take advantage of the elderly. My 80 year old grandma Bonnie bought 4 new tires that they had to order and had them put them on. Well the tires were kicking the sensors on in her car. She took it to the dealership to have it looked at. Come to find out they sold her SNOW tires. Now we all know it does not snow here nor does it get cold enough. When she went back up there the guy was rude and refused to swap out the tires for the correct ones when it was his fault even after the manufacture said they would swap them out for her since Mavis sold her the wrong tires. Cross threaded two lug nuts onto the wheel both lugs and bolts had to be replaced put the wrong size tire on the wheel couldnt balance the tires right had a waffle in the steering at highway speed had to take it to Walmart to get the tires balanced properly. The guy doing the service was high worthless as tits on a boar. The wrong size tire they put on wasnt new. They kept trying to upsell me to a higher priced tire lied about the rotors on my brakes I went out put a credit card on the rotor ....flush line with the rotor no gaps no waffling also the brakepads they said were shot I looked at those when I walked straight out into thier workbay and looked .....brake pads had 1/4 inch of pad on them so they lied. They didnt expect me to walk out into thier bay like that . So man go to Daffy Duck and woody woodpecker for your tire service needs they will do a better job than these chumps anyday. 350.00 out my pocket to get the right size tire at Walmart new lugs and bolts from the damage they caused. Heading back home to Texas yesterday and my car began violently shaking! I pulled over in Clinton and after getting no assistance from 2 sources, I took my vehicle to Mavis. They balanced the tires, test drove it and found it was still shaking. They then discovered the source of the problem (tire bubble), and assisted in locating a tire to fit the vehicle since no one in the area had it. Once we located a tire, they put the spare on and sent me in my way...and they didn't charge me a single penny!!! I took my lifted 2018 powerwagon to them to rotate the tires and balance the wheels. There are no issues that I was aware of at the time. But it did take about 4 hours to get it done, and they had said about an hour. The problem was about 6 months later. 1 of my snap on center cap on my aftermarket wheel came off. No big issue. Ordered a new one problem solved. The problem came about 3 weeks later. I was moving through a parking lot, and I heard something rattle in my front wheel. I unbolted the center cap and found a broken wheel stud with no lug. The way my center caps bolt on if the lug broke it would have stayed captured in the center cap. So when I got home I pulled all the center caps. I found at least 1 broken stud with no lug nut on every wheel. I ordered the new studs and lug nuts. When I changed them all out there were a total of 10 broken studs, with 6 lug nuts in total missing out of 32 studs. Some were broken but the nut still was on the stud. None of the studs were cross threaded just broken. Which leads me to believe that they were put on with an impact and not torqued properly. Since I have been a heavy equipment mechanic and mobile crane mechanic for 37 years now. I know how to identify root cause of the failure. I am writing this review to make people aware. Some "professionals " are not good at their craft. And it is ok to ask questions and to be shown them torquing the lug nuts properly. If you over tighten them with the impact, the torque wrench will still click that they are torqued, but that doesn't mean that they are not over torqued. For example, if the torque spec says 75 ft pound, and you run them up with an impact to say 100 ft pounds, the torque wrench will click at the 75 ft pound setting. But you don't know it is over torqued. I hope this helps someone save their life or life of a loved one. read more

They hardly ever answer their phone...we've tried 3 days. We had to call another store to ask them to try....no answer!! After calling the Regional Office, we were told they've been closed for a Covid alert. They are having to disinfect. We were even in the office days before and none of the employees were wearing masks. We did not get a call to notify us of the alert. I was able to call ahead of time to make sure they had my tire, and it took them less than 30 mins to get my new tire, alignment and balance done! How has Mavis Tires been in business this long in Clinton, MS, when much better options are available? I recently searched for new tires for my truck and found an excellent price on the tires I wanted on a competitor's website. The Mavis website advertises a price match with any competitor, so I called the corporate office, who willingly matched the price and scheduled delivery and a tire installation appointment for the next day. On the morning of my appointment, I get a call from Brad, who I guess is the manager, who tells me that the tires I want are on backorder. He tells me they can only get them from a Tire Rack, a competitor. He can have them delivered tomorrow for an extra 135.00 expedited shipping fee. I told him that I didn't want to pay the additional expedited shipping and asked him when they could get the tires delivered. Brad said to me that he would contact corporate and find out. An hour goes by with no call from Brad. I contacted Brad to find out what corporate said. He again tells me that the tires are on back order and would cost me the 135.00 no matter what to get the tires delivered because no one but Tire Rack has the tires. He then told me I could try back in a couple of weeks to see if they had them back in stock. I told him to refund my deposit and that I would get the tires elsewhere. I bought the tires from the competitor at the discounted price with free shipping. They were delivered yesterday. I've never seen such dishonesty from a business. Mavis didn't want to honor the price match and used the backorder and shipping excuse to recover the difference. The manager I spoke to is either a terrible liar or not very intelligent to believe that his story makes any sense whatsoever. Mavis ultimately lost a customer for life due to this dishonesty. I hope anyone reading this review understands the risks associated with doing business with Mavis Tire. Terrible service and poor business ethics should be their tagline from now on! The absolute worse location ever has to be the Clinton, MS location. Last year (2021) they told me my brakes were bad and so called replaced which cost me $1000. My brakes may have been replaced but they did not perform the cleaning of the pins or oil replacement required when changing brakes and pads. Here we are a year later trying to figure out why the car is shaking when pressure applied to brakes, not to mention brake are still under warranty and they still did not fix them. Instead, they came up with something else (struts) for me to pay for yet again another $1000 just to leave after of course letting my car sit there for about 8 days. DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL!!!! The next day I noticed my tire had gone flat again so I brought it back to the same place and they noticed there was a new hole. He fixed it for free again. Called to price tires. Told one amt. get there charged a higher amt then go back to let them know car is shaking David said you need balance. Said you guys charged me for one and supposedly did one so said no charge. Was going to take about an hour or 2 so said come back early next day. David said OK I told Brad and DeShell " since David said he wouldn't be there next day. Got there early and no techs were there per Brad. In the end was told i needed 2 new tires so i asked if would switch out the back with front said OK no charge. Brad goes to check with the tech that was on site and was told thread on tires, out of warranty. So not only did they not do anything took it from free cehck up to buy 2 new tires for the front. I said nope. I think this place should close or be closed. I will never do business here again. I have told my entire family stop using them and we do not recommend to anyone. These people will rob you blind and take their time doing it. The staff has no professionalism whatsoever and has no sense of time at all. They will lie straight to your face just to sell you a new item. My girlfriend car had a rather large leak from a mishap she did. I found the leak on the tire and noticed it was close to the side wall. I didn't want to risk plugging it so went here to try to get it patched. They reel you in by stating they will patch it for cheap. Go to drop the car off and takes them forever before they even acknowledge our existence after standing in front of him for 15min. He says it'll be a hour to hour and half before they can look. I'm like okay cool so we drop the car off. It's been three hours and we still haven't heard anything. My gf calls up there and they try to say there is a nail in the side wall and it can't be patched. I know this isn't true but I still need something on that car so I can ask them what they're tire prices are and he says the cheapest is 130 so I get that. It takes another hour and half before we have to call again because they are about to close. He tells me they just pulled it in to change the tire! It took them 4 1/2 hours to pull a single car up and scam me into buying a new tire. Ended up costing 185 after taxes and all the fees they add to the ticket. You're better off going to Walmart or any other place but here. Do not go here you have been warned. read more

I just took my Ford Edge for its 30k maintenance checkup and tire rotation. The staff were very knowledgeable, courteous, and efficient. I had a warranty number I was told to bring for an associate to call. Without hesitation, the associate was on the phone to get me taken care of. I was able to be seen right away and didn't have to wait very long. The lobby/waiting area was clean and the volume level was low. When I got in my car to leave, a Christmas card and a little candy cane were waiting for me on the dash, which was a very nice personal touch. He told me they would be able to repair the tire and even offered to put it back on my car for me. John, my technician, was equally polite and all smiles! I had my daughters car repaired in February, fast forward to June, she goes to put car in reverse and it would not move, she then tries to put it in drive, and it would not move. Me, thinking it was the motor or transmission, I had it towed back to the dealer. Come to find out, he brake pad had came loose and ended up lodged in the break caliber, causing the car not to be able to move. I was livid because the first thing I said was " they messed up my child's car" I called Mavis and spoke with the Manager, John, I had to vent! I explained the situation to him and that the dealer said the car was unsafe to drive and it would need to be towed, he assured me to "let him make this right" I sighed, but agreed because I was in a pickle. The day the car was towed and made it to Mavis, John, was off. I got off work and went to Mavis to check on the progress and I immediately see the care in the air with the tires off. Erin came out and spoke with me and gave me a laundry list of repairs and again, I became livid because at this point, its an older car and I know it needs repairs and my child drives like a nascar driver and I just wanted them to fix the break issue. Erin said "step outside with me" She then told me, "ma'am, don't worry, we are going to take care of this for you" I was a little hesitant, but in all honesty, it was a blessing in disguise,(I cried on the way home" Friday comes and I get the call that the car is ready for pickup. I went to get tires for my truck yesterday. There was a wait of at least two hours. All the people in front of me were women. What I noticed was that every time there car was almost ready (most in for oil changes and tire rotation) I couldn't help but notice that someone would come up to them and say that there air filter needed changed, that one of there shocks was leaking, that there breaks needed changing, or recommending some form of other service then what they came for. When I went to check out I noticed that nothing extra was wrong with my truck. I asked if they looked at the breaks and everything else but was told nothing was wrong. I know for a fact my breaks are 2 years old and have 40k miles at least and need changing, I also noticed that front end alignment was declined by customer but I was never asked if I wanted one, also before I went there my truck wasn't leaking but for some reason today I have no power steering fluid in my pump and there spots where I parked that it's leaking now. I don't know if it was because I was a guy and not a girl that I didn't get recommended and thing on a vehicle I know needs things. Just thought it was odd how all the women got picked recommendations but I didn't. Also over heard one employee saying he almost had a break change till he had to talk to the husband. I went to Tire Engineers to get my tires rotated. They got the car up on the lift within 30 minutes. I went outside and the mechanic showed me air leaks due to nails in two tires. One he could fix and the other he could not fix. I told him to fix the one he could fix and just rotate the tires without fixing the other puncture. I set inside for one hour waiting and nothing was being done. I went outside and the salesman came out and said they were waiting for a decision. By that time I had spent about two hours waiting for a simple flat repair and 4 tires rotated. This will be my last visit to tire engineers. They are too slow and work too hard trying to find something they can work on or fix. I'll go somewhere else to buy my next tires. And, by the way, when I got home I went around and looked at the two tires on the passenger side and the valve stem covers were missing.
