My experience with the Mavis in Rincon was horrible Mr Tom and the assistant manager Anisha had the worst customer service skills that I've ever seen in a shop. I preordered a tire the day before n pay a deposit to call mavis thr next day making sure my tire was there for Mavis to answer phone w me on speaker the lady had attitude due to me upset that they are telling they dont have my tire n they can't help me nor tried to figure out. They were rude so i called customer service they helped me by sending me to the mavis in Pooler where there was 5 tires my size. Now mind u rincon store could have helped by call other locations like there customer service did. But no rude n told me they refund my money...pooler staff great!!!!! Rincon store truly worse experience​. Excuse if name of manager n assistant mg wrong..but they need a class in customer service for sure. I would rate this business 0 stars if I could! I had four new tires put on June 28th. Two days later my tire light came on. I called and was told to bring it in and they would check the sensors. One of the sensors was dead. I was told to bring it in and they would check to make sure they didn't do something to damage it during the installation. I had an appointment this morning at 9:00 AM. They were obviously running behind schedule, no problem. At 10:15, I asked the younger gentleman how much longer it would be before they started on it. Was told 15 minutes or so. At 10:40, it was driven into the bay. I realized that the person who drove it in was not working on it. He then comes walking from the convenience store next door and eats his breakfast/ lunch. I asked the younger gentleman to please pull my car out the bay because I was leaving! I then spoke to the manager who was very rude and disrespectful and told me two different lies! The manager had asked me around 10:00 to go ahead and write a review. I told him that I hadn't written a review when he asked me to but I would make sure that I wrote one about the horrible experience I had. Stopped by with my wife's car, told them the rear tire on driver side had a slow leak, I put air in it last week and then again yesterday morning. The gentleman told me it would be two hours, not a problem, I called my wife to come pick me up. Three hours later I hadn't heard anything, so I called, I was told yes it was ready, so we drive there, walk in and the same guy says can I help you? I pointed at my wife's car, he says yeah I thought it was ready. We'll get it in right now. He goes out to the garage area and is on his cell phone. After a while I told my wife let's just take the car and go, I'll take it somewhere else tomorrow. Waited a few more minutes (he's still on his cell), finally my wife opens the door and asks for the keys. He gets the keys and comes in and hands them to her, she says we're not happy, he doesn't even say he's sorry. So they read my review and give me a number to call, total waste of time. read more

this has been my best experience with them today. The only hiccup we had was the price quoted out the door different about $30 from the original price quoted out the door. I was explained that this was the tire disposal fee and it varies from store to store so they couldn't give an exact price over the phone because the call center was in New York who made my appointment. The store manager was very kind and went out of his way to rectify the situation after a short conversation to help him understand what was sold to me. But they got my car in as soon as I got there got two people on it got me in and out rapidly. And the car is driving. Great the tires feel like they're balanced perfectly. Made an appointment for oil change and tire rotation. It is now 2.5 hours later. I was quoted a $24.95 price- but that was wrong for my car so I owe $57.95. As I sat there they talked about the quotas they need to hit. Apparently need to sell more batteries and pushing brake jobs. Imagine my shock when I was told I also need a $500 brake job- the pads had some wear (but better to change everything at once!) They got me once! read more

Update: Matt called and tried to lie and say it was "someone who worked on the brakes before them". Which still makes no sense. Again, it was driven with no issues prior. He tried to talk down to my husband but he doesn't deal with drama. It's not worth fighting with them. We will never go there again and I will continue to let everyone know. Stay away!!!! I've been going to Them for 5 years now and they have completed oil changes on 4 cars for us since. I am so disappointed it what this place has become. I dropped my Van off for them to check the brakes. We were quoted $1,600 to change the master cylinder and booster, rotar and brake pads. My husband told the to change the cylinder and booster because he is a certified mechanic but not the rotar and pads. He can do that. he prefers to pay others to do some jobs. (He doesn't like it and works in IT.) The van was not leaking and had no major issues when I dropped it off. This is a travel can only, not an everyday car, so we've been driving it on longer trips where the kids could be comfortable with the space. No issues. We took it in because my husband felt it was a little off. So we had that parts done since we were quoted $800. Went to pick it up and paid the $905.78 (yes, more than the quoted price but I didn't complain about it and paid). After paying I was that he will not let me drive it and I had to have it towed home. ?? I drove it there with no issues, but it wasn't drivable after paying $900 for repairs. THAT WERE PREVENTATIVE REPAIRS. Buy they can make it drivable for another $800!!! I was told that the brake lines are leaking and do not work. When I reminded him that they were working fine when I dropped it off. I was told "the work they did increase the pressure of the fluid to cause them to leak" I'm not a Mechanic but even I know that doesn't sound right. The cylinder and booster do not increase the pressure to the brake line!! Needless to say, the corporate office has been contacted and I will update you with the results. read more

I booked an appt online 7/31/24 for brakes inspection to be done 8/1/24 at 8am. The store opens at 8am so I would've been one of the first appts there. When I arrived there were 2 people already there. No problem... I understand that with a lot of places who have multiple people working can double or triple book for the same appt time. So I stood in line behind one person already in line. After that person was helped, I was not greeted nor acknowledged in any way for a few minutes as the employees stood there. I did not say anything. I patiently waited for one of the employees to acknowledge me. One of them spoke saying "what can I do for you?" I then said, "good morning, I have an appt for 8am for brakes inspection." The employee asked for my name and info. I explained the reason for the service (a free brake inspection). He said no problem he will get me taken care of and see what needs to be done. i handed him my car key and sat in the waiting area. The time was around 0810. People would come in and out. There were 2 people in there prior to be coming so I understood their cars would be serviced first. But other cars were serviced before mines as well. I could hear phones calls of the employee that did my intake, on the phone saying that he has "4 guys standing around" and that whoever was on the phone could bring their car up there to be serviced. This was an hour and a half of waiting to be serviced. Another lady comes in asking about her tire and needing a replacement, starts talking to me after a while since she had been waiting for 20 minutes or so. We began going into detail about the fact that her car was serviced before mine and I had already been there about 2 hours now. Ultimately her car too was serviced before mine. Another customer walked in for service. From then I decided to talk an employee. So I walked up to the counter and an employee (not the same one who did the intake) asked if I had a Silverado. I said no I had the 2019 camry. I then requested to have my keys to take my car elsewhere since I had been waiting 2 and a half hours for service. Another employee was apparently listening and went to get my key. That person did not say 2 words to me. I walked out, got in my car and left. I don't understand why this happened to me. No one said anything to me, gave me an update on the timeframe it would take to have my car serviced, nor offered an apology for the extended wait time. My time is valuable just as everyone else and it should be respected as such. And I didn't feel respected in any way, shape, or form. I had other things to do today and thought by making an appt, I would have quicker service. If they were backed up, I completely understand. That just should've been communicated so that I could make the decision to stay or not. I was completely left in the dark. I would never visit this establishment again. I know one unsatisfied customer isn't going to affect their busy. My reason for this is to let people know about my experience. And my experience was a terrible one. I'm not even mad. I'm disappointed. It's hard enough being a woman going into what society deems a "man's environment" or a "man's world." So it's even more discouraging when things like this happens and no one has anything to say about it. I still plan on getting the service done, but it will not be by any Mavis Tires & Brakes location. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I get online to make an appointment and search for 4 tires that are "in stock" I show up around 12:45 to drop my vehicle off and I hand the worker the paper. The paper stated exactly what I was coming in for along with the exact 4 tires I had chosen. He tells me that price doesn't include about $30 more than I was quoted but everything is in stock. I leave and go home and waited until 4:30 because I never received a call until about 20 mins before they close with no voicemail so I lookup the number to see if it was them, and it was. So I call back and no one answered so I head that was assuming my vehicle is ready because it states online "give us 3 hours". Once I arrive I immediately notice my donut still on my car and I walk inside. I then questioned them about my vehicle not being ready and the young man says "I tried calling you to let you know we only have 3 tires instead of 4". I understand you get busy and mistakes happen and would have been fine with a call saying that they didn't have it in stock at a reasonable time but the fact they wait 4 hours later to tell me that they're out of that tire after being told it was in stock and 20 mins before closing knowing they were not going to be able to get to it done that night is ridiculous. I will NEVER do business here and the only reason I decided on this place is because of the "THREE HOUR PROMISE" take your business elsewhere this place is a joke and a lot of changes need to be done or they need to close their doors. read more

I had a good experience here. I needed a new tire, needed it mounted to the rim and put back on my vehicle. They were able to order the tire and get it in quickly. We actually missed our appointment time but they still accommodated us for a drop-off. They called to say they were done faster than I expected and the price was very reasonable. I also had a good experience with the customer service agent I worked with. She was polite, pleasant and helpful. I've read the other reviews and I am not trying to detract from their experiences, that just wasn't my experience here. We would use them again. read more

Scrambled to find a local tire store that could repair a tire on a Friday 15 minutes before closing. Two other stores wouldn't help me. Mavis was wrapping up a few jobs and sweeping up. Tracy, the manger, sent a tech out to see what they were up against. They took care of me immediately. Plus, I learned they are open on weekends unlike the other local stores. This will be very helpful when I need to replace all four times soon. I appreciated the conversations with Tracy and her tech. They seem to genuinely care about the customer experience. Took my son's car to have a bunch of work done, two new tires, new front brake pads and rotors (supplied by me), new front struts (supplied by me), alignment, oil change, replace ignition switch and replace fuel filler tube. They assured me that, if I got it there first thing, they could finish it by the close of business. I stopped by a few hours later to get something from the car and was informed that I needed new sway bar links. Ok, do it. So, I come back near closing time and the car is out in front. They tell me that the tires, brakes and struts are done, but they couldn't get to the rest, but I could bring it back the following day. So, the lady at the counter gives me the total and it seemed a bit high so I asked and she found something wrong that knocked off about $100. After getting home, looking at the bill, I realized they also charged me $175 for labor to replace my brakes (which I supplied) when their regular price is $89.99, with them supplying the brakes. So, I come right back and show them this and the mechanic said he'd not charge me for the labor on the fuel filler tube to make up. Ok, fine. So I drive back home. Keep in mind, I live a mile away. As I'm pulling into my driveway, I hear a klanking sound coming from the front end. So, I pull the car up onto my car ramps and take a look under the front end. Here's what I found: 1. Driver side sway link top mount hardware loose. 2. Grease fittings on driver side sway link loose, no grease applied. 3. Passenger side sway link no grease fittings installed at all. 4. Brake lines on both sides left loose from their brackets. 5. ABS speed sensors left hanging loose, not secured to brackets both sides. 6. Passenger side ABS speed sensor mis-routed around new strut. 7. Excessive weight used on tire balancing. So, I called and told them all this and they wanted me to bring it in at the end of the day for the mechanic to fix it. However, judging from the initial quality of the work already "completed", I think not. The not so funny thing is that the mechanic who worked on it was telling me, after the work was done, that the garage had gotten a bad reputation for some reason and he was trying to fix that (this place just did a grand opening last week). Well, buddy, you've failed miserably. On a side note, when I pulled up to get the car, another "mechanic" was moving another customer's car from the parking area to the garage. At the same time, a truck was backing up from the front of the building. This kid guns it in reverse, coming mere inches away from hitting the truck. I confronted him about it and he acted like he had done something pretty cool. Unbelievable. So, to summarize, don't go here for anything but the free air pump on the corner of the building. I've taken my vehicle here a few times. Their service was spotty at best. There's always "a new guy being trained" or some excuse. They seem very disorganized. My wife took her car there a few months ago for new tires and they had the audacity to call her and accuse her of bringing them a stolen car (since car thieves replace tires on stolen cars). So after finally getting all of that settled I decided to give them one more try. It took me literally 30 minutes to get them on the phone after getting redirected to their call center who could just tell me "we can get it squeezed in today but I don't know when." After FINALLY getting ahold of the shop I get a very rude female on the phone who wanted to cop an attitude after I asked around what time they'd have it done. Freaking clowns man. Poor management here. There are much better places to get tires in the area. The price we were quoted over the phone changed when we arrived. Ivan, the manager, was incredibly condescending to my wife and was not willing to honor the quoted price. After reading these other reviews, it was a blessing in disguise that we found a place next door to replace our tires instead. I dropped some wheels off to have tires swapped (took them off myself and brought to them so it be quicker & easier for them). Said they would call me back and never did. I had to call them several hrs later to get a "oh yeah, they are done". Figured stuff happens so tried to go by there again to use them and its packed inside with techs in shop just walking around doing nothing. So i left. Come back 4hrs later. Same thing. Tech hanging out just talking. Being only tire place open in area on a sunday is only reason i feel they get any business. read more

Took my truck to have all 4 tires balanced, waited 2 hours, was then told to come back the next day and it would be done free, well came back the next day and waited 3 and a half hours only to leave and within a eighth of a mile wheel weights start slinging off. Took the vehicle back they didn't even rebalance they just stuck the weight back on, well 3 miles later more weights come, and as an now angry customer I come back only to get a were closing sorry. I've been in the tire business for years and in my opinion this company need to hire people who are skilled in there field of employment. I would give 0 stars if yelp would allow me. The worst service ever. They replaced my coil packs and spark plugs and they left one of the ols plugs in the engine cause part of the old coil pack broke off around it so they left it and shoved the new coil pack in the hole and half way bolted it and sent me on my way. I also watched them destroy someone's step up bars with the lift and im sure they didnt even report that. I'd let a 5 year old child work on my vehicle before i would take it back to Mavis Tire. read more
