My Ford F150 with 113K miles was bucking around 50-60 MPH and I dreaded the thought of a new trans for 7K. I booked the appointment as they had great reviews and the owner told me on the phone it cold be something other than the trans. He ran a scan and road test and sure enough he was right. Misfire on 3rd cylinder which is probably a fouled plug or something small. $125.00 for the test was the best money I've ever spent. My daughter, who lives out of state, brought her car there to be fixed. They were very reasonably with their price and even offered a military discount. Unfortunately, Her car broke down 1 week after she got back home. She then had to send it to another mechanic in Fl. Who said the parts were bad. I told Rincon Transmission what happened, he asked for the parts and was nice enough to reimburse my daughter 1/2 her expense + Extra from the parts company. The owner is a real stand up guy that did the right thing. There was no way any mechanic would know a part was bad placing it in a vehicle. I was referred to this business to get a routine transmission service so I thought they would be very professional. Just awful!! I booked a schedule 3 weeks in advance so you would think being in the business they would have ordered the parts., however, I drove all the way there and dropped off the keys. Time I got ready to leave the clerk lady came running out and stopped me and said-- the parts are not here, he just told me. WTF? The following day the parts warehouse forgot to add part to delivery route. Once correct part was received, work was completed in a very timely manner and came in below estimate. I was having trouble with my car and my usual mechanic suggested I go to Rincon Transmissions. Even though this is a distance from our house, I decided to go. What a positive experience. The waiting room was clean and comfortable. The staff was pleasant and thorough. They promptly checked the car and looked for the cause of the problem. When they cleared the "check engine" message, it seems to have resolved the issue. They advised the problem did not appear to be the transmission but rather some type of glitch. Im shocked to see they have poor reviews. Ive referred MANY people to them and all were happy. Back in 2011 my 04 F250 factory transmission went out (it was a landscaping company owned truck from new until I bought it with 84k miles. I use it to move boats.... none of the miles on the truck have been easy.). The factory transmission went out at 92k miles. I called them on a Friday just before 5pm. They had a flatbed at my business Monday morning at 930. They called me that afternoon around 2-3. I said to them "This truck is my work truck and will be hauling boats, and has been all hard miles. Do whatever you need and make sure its going to last. Whats it gonna cost, lets just cut the run around." "$2,000. And I see what you're going to be doing with it, and we will still warranty it if anything happens." Tuesday (The very next day) at noon, I get a call. "Would you like us to bring it back to you, or come and pick it up?" I went down, they walked me through the shop, showed me all the stations, etc. I brought my checkbook. Sign right on the wall (I own a small business, I always offer a check to save them money" said "NO CHECKS ACCEPTED". He said "Your check is good here." Fast forward to last night. Starts shifting hard. OFF light flashing. Engine code thrown. Exact same symptoms from before.... Im wagering, its game over.... 6 years. 285k miles. So this transmission lasted 190k miles of abuse. And probably, lack of proper maintenance. Unless things have changed over the years.... Ill never go anywhere else. read more

Took truck to them so that the transmission could be flushed because it had gotten water in it. The truck is a 1990 chevy. The only call I received from them was to come and pick it up. The bill was $2100, I would have never spent that amount of money on a truck that old. They said that the transmission had to be rebuilt. Had they called me before doing this, I would have told then not to fix it. I could have bought a used one from the junk yard and put it in myself for $500. I have a 30 day warranty and you can bet that it better work like a new one or I will be taking it back. read more
