Have you ever felt like you've been totally ripped off? Well, sadly I have been. I am an ASE certified master mechanic with 16 ASE certifications. But I am retired and I no longer turn wrenches. Recently my car had had a P0303 code which means the number three cylinder was misfiring. I took it to Savannah car Care. They ran a diagnostic and quoted me $1,000 for the replacement of 8 spark plugs and wires on My 2013 Chevy suburban 5.3 motor. They called me on the phone and I thought it was a joke. But it wasn't! I had the spark plugs and wires replaced in my car 26,000 miles ago for $378. Now Savannah car Care is telling me that I have to spend $1,000 to replace one bad spark plug cable that has gone bad since the last replacement of all 8 plugs. I asked them if they could just replaced the one bad cable and plug. They said NO - that all the spark plugs and cables were bad. Well, to make long story short. I am traveling the country and I needed my SUV, so I said go ahead and do it. Because I complained about the price. They lowered the cost of $906. I've been going to Savannah car Care for about 4 years now. Initially, when I started going there they were great. The manager that I used to deal with left and things have gone downhill. At that time, I had Car Shield warranty and Savannah car Care bad mouth that company to death. Now there are sponsors of that company. Make a pack with the Devil - money talks! Savannah car Care it's no longer the company I used to recommend. They have sold out and now they WAY overprice their services. It's a shame! I will not be back. My car drowned in a puddle, and we had to get it towed to the closest car shop; Savannah Car Care. While this location is appointment only (they have another location on Wilmington that is walk-in) they were able to squeeze me in and work around their other appointments, to order and replace my engine in 2 weeks. They remained communicative the entirety of the process, calling with any update they had regarding unforeseen problems, install, or when it would be ready. Price was reasonable and they worked with my insurance with ease. I highly recommend using them if you have any type of car problems - they definitely gained a lifelong customer here. read more

I was having a really hard time finding car care places to take my Jeep in Savannah that were affordable and fast. After spending money at places that never fixed my problems, I decided to take a chance at victory car care which is less than half a mile from my house, and let me tell you, it was the best decision I ever made. These guys have more integrity than any other place I have found and even better, they're absolutely affordable. There was even a time that we were going to get a quote for something we knew was going to have huge price tag, and he told us that there was an open technical service bulletin open on the issue, and that it would be free to fix at the dealership. He literally saved us thousands of dollars with his honesty. I will never take my vehicles anywhere else in Savannah. This place is the place to go whether it's for an oil change, or you need something fixed on your car. You will not find a better, affordable place, I promise you. read more

This place sucks and I cant recommend against it enough (would give zero stars if it was possible). I took my car there for a very specific noise and gave the owner how to recreate it and where it appeared the noise was coming from. He told me it was something that didn't at all sound like the problem I told him, but I trusted his "professional" judgement. Low and behold, after paying for what he told me what was causing the noise, the noise was still there and I was able to recreate it in less that two blocks of driving. I went back and had to convince him to get in the car with me so I could show him the noise I had originally described. He immediately had his mechanics look at it and fixed it in 5 minutes. Here we have the go-to move for terrible mechanics who take advantage of people and fix something completely unrelated to the original reason you took your car in. something that should've been a $30 diagnostic and quick adjustment of something on the brakes turned into an almost $600 bill. ON TOP OF THAT, my car was unlocked when I got into it and my phone charger and phone mount were gone. So not only is the owner a grade A scammer, he and his employees cant even do the most basic acts like lock their customers cars! TLDR: they'll fix the wrong thing and cost you lots of unnecessary money and they aren't even competent enough to lock car doors. Zero out of five stars and I will only look at this place in disgust when I drive by. read more

We were traveling and stopped in Savannah for the week when we found that our Jeep was not operating properly for towing. We called and spoke with Mike. He was very nice and told us to bring the vehicle in the next morning. We were greeted with friendliness when we arrived. He remembered talking with us and said they would check it out that day. As the jeep is our only vehicle Mike offered to take us over to Enterprise so that we could get a rental vehicle. Later that same day Mike called and explained what was wrong, the cost to complete repairs and time frame to repair. We authorized the repair which was completed later on the same day! We would definitely come here again for any needed car repairs when we are in this area and would highly recommend them to others! We received quality vehicle repair in a more than timely manner with very polite people. read more

I'm still wondering why your cost (including time and battery service charge) to install that battery was $200 more than the Toyota dealer would've charged for the same, including installation. Our car's air conditioner shut down, and we really needed it fixed ASAP in this Savannah summer heat. We called Victory Car Care and spoke with Mike, who told us to bring our car in the next morning, even though they were really busy with customers. If I could give zero stars I would. My fiancé brought his car here for an estimate for some repairs. He was talked down to, treated as if he had caused the damage to his car himself (none of their business, even if he had, which he didn't), asked a number of personal questions, with the assumption that "his parents buy him cars and things" (couldn't be more opposite...), belittled, and treated like a complete idiot. He was told, "you know what you need to do? Make your bed every morning. Do something productive." Completely unprofessional, horrible, unacceptable. I brought my car here after being told by several mechanics (that lazily just ran a diagnostic) that I needed a new catalytic converter -- a very expensive fix. I took my car to Victory Car Care, and, instead of running a computer diagnostic, they did a physical inspection that revealed a tear in a vacuum line that was causing a misfire, as well as a false trigger in the computer diagnostic (for a converter). They repaired this and got everything in working condition at a 1/3 the cost of what I was expecting to pay for a new c. converter, and they were sincere that they would not let me spend more money than made sense for my car. I appreciated this, but did not realize how rare these qualities were until I had my car serviced at a different mechanic in Savannah. The guys here are fantastic, honest, and hard working. They got me in without an appointment, they could have told me I needed a new unit and charged me $300-$400 but they said it just needed cleaning and lubricant- no charge! We recently moved away from Savannah (to the West Coast), and one of the things we miss most is Victory Car Care. We discovered them a few years ago, and we would never take our cars anywhere else! I recall quite a few times we brought a vehicle in with some new sound or issue that we were sure would cost us hundreds...and they let us know it was really just an easy fix, and sometimes they even did the work for free! But after the mechanic inspected everything it turned out to be brakes. Mike and his crew could have done like many other shops and charged me for something more than I needed. I identified several problems (a/c not working; passenger electric window not working) & asked for an estimate of repairs. The Manager said he could do it tomorrow morning. Never did he say there would be a charge to give me an estimate. I dropped the car off before hours, left the key. The Manager called me 2+ hours later, said the a/c compressor needed replacement + gas, so about $980. Oil change too. He said the driver's side window switch needed replacement but never gave me a price - never wrote anything on the estimate/bill form either. I said I needed to think about it as a thousand dollars is a lot to spend at one time, plus it's an old car (2003). He said just pay me the diagnostic fee of $49.95 & we'll be OK. I asked "what fee"? He said "we charge to give estimates". I said "you never told me that - if I had known that I would not have left the car". He said we always charge for the diagnostic, & the total is $55.30. I told him I'm coming over to get my car. When I arrived at the shop, there was a sign with a bunch of rules on it, with the last one at the bottom - very inconspicuously - stating "minimum diagnostic fee $49.95". Again, he never told me this, never pointed to the sign & said that was our fee, I never verbally authorized the fee, & I never signed anything authorizing the fee. In addition, he automatically added a "shop supply fee" of $5.00 plus tax of $0.35 to the diagnostic fee, thus the "Minimum diagnostic fee" is NOT $49.95 but $55.30! He disparaged me several times as I'm living in California & we're terrible people. He threatened to place a lien on my car. I then said that since this fee - per their terms - could be applied again the services recommended, that I would get the oil changed. He said that that was not possible now since I had argued with him about the charge. I paid the bill & left. read more

I can't say enough about how outstanding the service is here. I live nearby and have stopped in a couple times for oil change and headlight replacements. The service was quick, (I'd recommend to come early when they open, as they do get busy) very transparent explanations of pricing for different services, and the work was top-notch. Some auto shops try to squeeze you each time you stop in, but Victory is definitely about treating you right. As a small business they really value their customers - unlike the bigger chains. And the manager Eric is really helpful. I'll continue coming here as long as I live in Savannah. read more
