Exceptional hospitality, inspiring service, and extraordinary food! Absolutely exhilarating!

I really enjoyed my meal at the Mawadda Cafe. I was a first time visitor and found the restaurant very clean and comfortable. My server made me feel welcome and at home. It's a popular place with lots of regulars. Looking for a vegetarian option, I ordered the falafel sandwich and a mango lassi, then I added the greek fries. Oh my God. They make the "best fries" I have ever eaten. Along with the sandwich and the lassi, I was very satisfied. I will definitely return if and when I'm in the area.

I LOVE the food from here. We order all the time, but in this last order we got a piece of white wire in our Basha platter. I'm so disappointed because this was our go-to place for Mediterranean food.

I came to Mawadda Cafe on Sat night. There were no customers in the restaurant, but we decided to eat. The store was well organized and the tables were clean. It took us quite some time to choose the menu. In the meantime, two people came in and picked up food. We ordered a veggie combo and a Samosa Plate. The food took a long time to come probably the restaurant was busy with phone and online orders. Veggie combo is a fresh made spanakopita triangular spinach pies, falafel, hummus, and stuffed grape. This dish was quite large and even two people could not finish it. Spanakopita triangular spinach pie is crispy and has a strong spinach flavor, falafel is a little salty for me but a good taste, hummus is a little watering taste. Samosa Plate is a golden crispy triangular pies all stuffed with a delicious filling. Choice of filling are chicken, beef and veggie. We only ate one samosa and took the rest home. There are many vegetarian and vegan choices here. I would like to try other things next time.

The food is great and the husband that is owner is great but the wife is very very rude and will over charge unless you catch it. She has really bad attitude and is rude to customers. My friend also had the same experience! The food is really good and as long as you deal with the husband you will have a good experience but his wife will ruin your whole day if you deal with her

This is a Hole in the wall kind of place. There is no Ambiance but the Food and Service is amazing. One of the the best Mediterranean food we have tasted. We will go back if we ever visit Seattle again!

I got a falafel salad. It looked very nice and there was a good quantity of food, but very bland. Needed salt and seasonings.

Overall, I really enjoyed my meal. The rice was great, the gyro meat was flavorful, and the tzatziki was really good. I got the lunch portion, which was good, but I do wish I had gone with the dinner size--definitely doing that next time since I want to try their hummus. The salad was the only part that was a little off for me. It seemed like the veggies hadn't been dried very well, so there was quite a bit of water sitting at the bottom. It also had pickles in it, which was interesting--but I actually didn't mind that part since I like pickles anyway. The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is because my husband's order wasn't made correctly. He ordered a similar plate with chicken and specifically asked for no salad and no tzatziki, and it was even confirmed when he ordered. But when he got home, both were still on his plate, which was frustrating for him. Aside from that, the food itself was really good. I'd definitely order from here again--and next time, I'm going for the Dinner Plate

Filled with toppings and a yummy dressing. Fries are always perfect. Fresh ingredient's, must try it. We always get orders to go. So I can't speak on service or ambiance but they never get our order wrong so I would say service is good.

We got the beef/lamb gyros + pork belly, just a basic set up. The food came out quick and great. I do notice that this place doesn't have much veggies in the gyro but that's my preference.

She said the owners are in "Greek" (Greece?) and didn't give her any notes or information about them. She went on to say that the writing on the bottles is in Greek so she can't understand it and she's only 19 so she hasn't tried it personally. I asked to see the bottles. In fact, the writing on the bottles is in English. We ordered our food. 3 in our party. First came the Greek fries. No plates, no napkins, no utensils. We had to ask for napkins which she tossed at the table. Then came the food for 2 of us. One of us was nearly done eating (so it didn't get cold) while the third person waited for her food. 2 of the 3 things she ordered finally arrived. The salad with chicken gyro was on such a small plate that she couldn't eat it without it spilling over onto the table so she had to ask for a bowl. She was nearly done with her food and the third side dish still hadn't arrived. When we asked the server about it she said there were a lot of takeout orders in front. I had to point out that she ordered all of it at the same time and that was in front of the takeout orders. Finally it came after we were done eating all of our food. Then there is the food itself. I ordered the beef/lamb gyro bowl. 2/3 rice, 1/3 grilled veggies and a couple of very thin, very small bits of gyro meat. It was almost impossible to find. What a rip off! If you're in south Seattle go to Mawadda. Amazing middle eastern food. Generous portions. Great service. I definitely won't be back to Niko's.
