Those who served the meals seemed like kind and gracious people. The plastic utensils were sturdy and gold and the napkins that came with the meal were the thickest ones I've ever seen in a restaurant. We had the chicken and beef kabob. This owner does not care about customer service and is very dishonest. My experience: Been a customer with them for about 4 months. Ordered their gyro fries (gyros stuffed with fries) about twice a month. The food never stood out for taste, but I wanted to support a local ethnic business. Today, I ordered my usual of 3 of these special gyros online for takeout which was $40 after tax. Drove over to pick up and then brought the food back home. Upon opening the containers, it was obvious that they had given me regular gyros that come with lettuce and onions, costing a dollar less. Their gyros stuffed with fries only come with the meat, sauce, and fries. Called Jafra and recognized the voice as the same guy who manned the front counter. He identified himself as the owner and I heard him yelling at someone in another language that I could guess was in the kitchen. He told me to come back and offered a medium fries for free or $5 discount. I drove back the 15 minutes and he inspected the gyros in the container. He actually fingered through the lettuce and onions, finding 3 pieces of fries. He looked at me grinning with his big teeth and said that these were what I ordered. The owner ignored the evidence on his website, kiosk at the front, and menus that show that Jafra's gyro fries show a gyro with only meat, sauce, and stuffed with fries. He lied that there was an option to select no lettuce and no onions when ordering and tried to blame what happened on me. He had the gyros remade by taking out the visible lettuce and onions while adding some soggy fries. Bits of onion and lettuce were still in the 3 gyros. He also went back on his word to give a discount despite my driving back and forth because of their mistake. I asked him for a couple donuts that are $2.50 a piece and he tried to charge me for them. He haggled and said he'd give me one for free for the inconvenience. This is not someone who cares about customers or correcting something that went wrong. A business owner like that doesn't deserve your hard earned money. read more

I've been searching for a place in the SeaTac area with delicious hummus, and I finally found one! Right off of I-5 and SR 516, this is a wonderful hidden gem that's a perfect place to stop while passing through, after leaving the airport, or a special trip for a delicious Mediterranean meal with generous portions. The menu is huge, with plenty of Greek, Jordanian, Turkish, Yemeni, and other classic Mediterranean entrees, sides, desserts, and drinks. I got the hummus mix, a chicken shawarma plate, and Karak tea. Everything was fantastic! The portions were huge so I have plenty of leftovers for future meals and snacks. The hummus was absolutely a standout, with delicious ratios of creamy chickpeas and tangy tahini, garlic, and fresh veggies on top. The Karak tea was a perfect balance of sweet and spiced flavors, absolutely a must try if you like chai or similar spiced coffees/teas. The shawarma plate had fresh veggies, even more hummus, and tons of chicken and rice. Everything was well cooked and delicious. The service was very fast, and the employee I talked to was so friendly! He gave me a free maple donut to snack on while I waited for my to-go order. It paired very nicely with the delicious Karak tea. Inside, the restaurant is very clean and home-y with nice decorations and lots of tables. I will 100% be back here! The menu is large with plenty of vegetarian options alongside the typical meat shawarma plates, gyros, and sandwiches. They also have a wide selection of donuts, sweets, and American food if someone in your group isn't a huge fan of Mediterranean. It's a little tricky to get to, right on the corner and with construction its problematic but don't be deterred, its worth the effort. Interesting combination of Mediterranean, breakfast and donuts so something for everyone. We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon about 1:30 and there were customers in and out the entire time we were there. Both my friend and I opted for the Gyro which came with a lot of meat, lettuce, onion, tomato and sauce on a really fresh pita. It was large enough that we didn't need any sides and be sure to take note if you don't like food with heat this might be too much. We quite enjoyed it but not for everyone. Since our first visit last year we've been a couple more times and always look for reasons (excuses) to come to Jafra. The last time we got the kebab plate, vegan kibbeh and lentil soup. They have something for everyone. Had to hold back from buying donuts or a cake slice, but they look so good! The kebab plate was so fresh and delicious, perfect size too. The vegan kibbeh appetizer came as three large, hot, and tasty footballs of veaan meat wrapped in a thick dough. I loved it but my non-vegan husband passed. The lentil soup came in a larger bowl than I thought it would. It was a bit on the salty side but still good. I took some of it home. Overall, a visit here never fails to satisfy us. Which seems like a great combo! They had an offer for two breakfast sandwiches for the price of one. The ordering menu was a bit confusing. No description as to what is on the breakfast sandwich - just went for it. And under "muffins" it said a bunch of flavors including "coffee" so I thought, oh, how cool, a coffee donut. The chicken was juicy and liked the veggies - hummus mix was good, liked the creaminess of the hummus and pita - mixed grill plate - like the lamb, beef and chicken kababs, the rice and salad. - fries - nothing can go wrong with fries! What I did not like - ordered more than 30 mins online so that I could pickup when I reach but still had to wait another 15 mins. It feels like they give preference to the drive thru orders! - Mediterranean Chicken shawarma - cut into small roll pieces was very dry and bland. - falafel & cauliflower sandwich was ok. Should have added more sauce to make it juicer -Kanafeh was not good, just a lump of semiya in a sugar syrup. If this was not meant for take out, they should remove the item from the takeout. I came across this and my sister recommended that I go there not for their breakfast but their standard Mediterranean meals as they are so much better and she wasn't wrong. I went in early for breakfast and ordered the Mixed Grill Plate which has a little bit of every kind of meat, rice, hummus, salad, and pita which I requested no to. I also order the shrimp corn chowder as well. It took a while but I was the only person in this clean lobby area and the food did not disappoint. The soup was delicious and creamy. I always catch this restaurant at the corner of my eyes whenever I wait for the traffic lights on pacific highway in Des Moines. I was always curious about it because the establishment basically serves gyro, coffee, and donuts! They also have a drive-through window as well, but I couldn't find the menu for their donuts though. The man, who answered me at the drive-through window, was very polite and invited me to the order / pay window to see for myself the kinds of donuts they had available. Because I chose 6 donuts, I got to choose 1 free donut. Looking at the interior of the establishment, it is a casual place if you feel like sitting down and eating your meals. Love that they replaced the old donut shop. The food is so good and fresh. My go to is their super gyro and fries. And they pack the gyro with a good amount of meat so the extra $1 is worth it. I've ordered the regular gyro and even that one they don't skimp on the meat. Their customer service is quick and they're very kind. I usually use the drive thru window and have had no issues since. Superb. Before Jafra moved in, this corner was a little dingy and run-down, but after seeing what they've done with the place I'm genuinely impressed. I had a kebab sandwich with fries and both were excellent, and the service was quick and polite enough to give my party a little extra time to peruse the menus. They've still got donuts, of course (and good ones, too). The place is brightly lit and has a large TV in the corner which was, at the time, showing a reel of international food videos, which was a nice touch. It's a little small, but as a casual place to grab a late-night dinner or an early breakfast it's just right. One downside - and this isn't going to affect the rating, it's just something to know - is that the parking lot is a little awkward to get into and out of. Not much they can do about that, sadly, but this place is worth the little extra effort. read more

I really want to support Jafra. They're a family business, they're on a street corner that needs responsible owners. With that said, their food doesn't match the quality of any of the excellent choices in Burien such as Snack Gyro or in Federal Way such as Mediterranean Gyro Grill. My wife and I tried 3 dishes, the Spanakopita. The Lamb Shawarma and the chicken & beef kabob. We attempted to order doughnuts as well but they were sold out (5PM). The spanakopita was terrible. We should have returned it. It was "clammy". Greasy and spongy. I'd guess fried then reheated or frozen and microwaved. The Lamb Shawarma was dry. Enough so that even with a their hummus (reasonably good), It wasn't where I'd come back. The Beef & Chicken Kabobs were reasonably good although still not exceptional. A minor thing but telling: their salad was "slopped" into the plate. It shows a lack of care about the quality of the meal. This mirrored the experience of the meal. read more

Hubby and I have been waiting for Jafra to open and today we finally got a chance to stop by! He got the lamb shawarma and it turned out to be the most tender and flavorful lamb we have had in years! I got the gyro fries and the gyro meat was super tender and flavorful as well, and the fries stayed crispy! We ar excited to try all of the different menu items after today's experience. Coming home from a meeting in Kent, I was driving right past their driveway and decided to get lunch to go. I ordered at the counter but could have ordered from the automated kiosk in front of the counter. The restaurant was almost empty at 1:30PM and the food arrived quickly in takeout boxes as requested. The gyro was tasty and had lots of shawarma meat but a bit too many raw onions for my taste (easily removed). The Philadelphia Cheese steak was very large and my wife liked it a lot. Lots of meat, cheese and cooked onions and peppers. The roll was good but not as tough and chewy as the Amaroso's bread I remember growing up in Phila. The eat-in area was clean and well lit and the menu was very extensive. It is the closest Middle eastern food to where I live i Des Moines and I am looking forward to trying some of their other dishes. They have a big doughnut case with lots of temping goodies, even at 1PM. This looks like it is a holdover from when this was a Dunkin' Doughnuts location. I will be back. read more
