Great service, upfront in pricing and recommendations. The work is top notch, my truck had water spots on passenger side in my eyes pretty bad. Stopped by the day before to ask questions. Was give two prices, basically once washed I'll know if they will come out with this process if not we will need to go this route. I trusted his expertise, next day dropped off my truck and he could have said the cost was more meaning the second option I would have not known, but he didn't. New Prices Again 2024: I remember when a regular car wash here was $9.99 then $14.99 then $19.00 then $20 then $25 and they used to spend a decent amount of time washing it. Now they put little effort into it and they have more than doubled their prices entirely. New prices are: Regular wash $30, $40 with wax, $80 "detail," $180 shampoo, and $180 buff & polish. I drive a Mustang GT around Whittier, it has a lot of carbon fiber pieces and I'm super over protective of my car. I had a mobile car was company named byond_details (on Instagram) but unfortunately due to inflation in California they left to LV. So I was looking for a place I could drop the car off and trust that it's done right without being charged 100$ for a wash. I found this little small place and the people here do a great job, they are kind, caring respectful and I've recommended people here. I found my new spot and I'm not leaving lol. Quality has not gone up, like Ryan said, it was good or ok for $15 previously but now, not worth it for 20 plus for a sedan...I put up with their quirks because it was a value budget place but now no way for what they want I'll go to an actual place with seats and somewhere to wait and where they actually at least pretend to clean my interior lol... read more

Bad, bad, bad, Wow it's been quite some time since I have written a review on yelp, but in this case I will continue to write reviews in regards to my last visit to Max Auto Detail until it's is addressed by management or ownership! So last Sunday I went in for a detail due the fact someone had vomited in my car the night prior. The two gentlemen told me it would be "$120 and cash only". I asked if they would do $110 they agreed. I assumed that they were trying to make some side money, but I really did not care as long as the job was done right. After two hours I went to pick up my car they told me they worked really hard on it I tried to pay with card they said the cash register was broken so I paid cash $110 plus a $10 tip since they said they had been working nonstop for two hours. I had a lot of things to do so I did not have time to inspect the car thoroughly at the time. So when I got home later that night I wanted to really get a look at the back seats due to the fact I could still smell the vomit. I lifted the seat and saw there was still food debris under and in between the seats. The back window still was foggy from the bits of vomit that went back there. What gets me the most is these guys had no other customers they had enough time to focus on doing the job correctly. Now as we all know every business thrives on good customer service and I will be looking out for a response from Max Auto Detail in the next couple of days! read more

Small place u can easily miss, must of passed by 100 times and never saw it. It don't look like much but like all things in life looks can be deceiving. These 3 guys work hard on your car. There not even on my car yet but there really cleaning the other cars inside and out making sure they are clean as new. The prices are really reasonable for the detail they do. Here it's the old fashion way, hard work by hand. I would make sure to tip these guys not cause u have to but because its the right thing to do for good work. Okay not only do they hand dry your car they also blow air by hand on it to get the hard to reach places dry. (Mirrors and door handles. Lights and trunk) no drip and driving here lol. I paid for a service for interior and exterior cleaning on my car and I specifically asked that I wanted my seats to be shampooed I go to get my car and my seats aren't even damp so they didn't shampoo them they just shampooed my carpets and trunk and put that shiny stuff in the inside Dash and etc. they did not wash my car they did not do my headlights it really seems that all they did was just the shampooing of the floors and wipe down the inside all I tried explaining to the guy that I specifically asked for the shampooed seats which was one of the main reasons why I took it in and he kept changing the subject saying it's good it looks good. I paid 140 for that, so not worth it I didn't need my floors to be cleaned I just wanted my seats Super disappointed never coming back read more

This is a great little mom and pop shop. They do a great job and are very courteous and professional. I would go more often, however, I literally forget it's there, tucked out of sight. You will drive right by it not knowing it is even there. It's squished between two body shops and recessed back from the street view. A definite must try to get your vehicle detailed. My only gripe is they don't give the interior much detail as they do the exterior. But, that is the most important! read more

When I came back to pick up my car I noticed a scratch on my rear view mirror and of course the denied it right away saying that was an old scratch.wtf. I'm super careful with my car and I notice everything so I know that wasn't on my car before. They not once apologized or offered me anything all they did was deny it. Never will I come here again!!! These guys do a pretty good job. I would say it's better than most places in the area for sure. It's around $19 for a standard car wash which is a little pricey but the work done is worth the buck. My only suggestion is that they should definitely throw in an air freshener. Other than that. It's a good place. Good staff. Quick and easy read more

Took both my cars there. Yes, it's a bit tricky to find it and parking is non existent. BUT, you get a hand wash by dedicated guys at a great price. Make sure you too, as these are hard workers. My recommendation: go early during a weekday or Sunday. I last went Sunday morning and no one was in line. Done in 20 min and car looked sparkling for the entire week. read more

Nice, tiny car wash and detailing place on Greenleaf. They are a really small operation but that just means they really pay attention to your car. Prices are extremely reasonable. For $25 they washed AND waxed my SUV and Armor-All'd the tires. I only say SUV instead of car because we all know that they are charged a little more. I assure you, I wasn't trying to be a douche. It doesn't look like your traditional car wash. If anything, it appears to be an old mechanic shop with two bays. The men are very nice and there's a mish-mash of furniture in their waiting room with a "spacious" 13" flat screen playing DVDs. ;) I like that it's a small business in my area. read more

Brought my Prius here to be fully detailed, inside and out. I'm an ex-smoker and a complete slob, so my car was a bit of a mess with ash and smoke stains all over everything, including the ceiling, and my floor mats were stained with various sodas and liquids. They list their normal complete detail at $150, but I guess because my car is small they charged me $95 (and I gave them a $25 tip). The $25 tip should tell you that they did an excellent job. Sure, they didn't do as good of a job as I'm sure the $250 full detail the Transhine people would have done... my girlfriend's hair is still a bit stuck under the back windshield, along with a petrified bee who got stuck back there last year, but over all the car looks practically new, inside and out. Seats and dashboard are cleaner than I've seen them in 7 years, and it even kind of has that new car smell. There's only a few stains here and there they couldn't get out. Two guys running the place are pleasant and the whole situation was no-nonsense. I called for a price, then drove by and dropped the car off, picked it up about three hours later. No salesman ship, no up-selling, nothing. Just two Mexican guys making a living detailing cars. I'm happy to support that, and will definitely come here in the future from now on and recommend them to everyone. I told them I discovered them because of Yelp on the internet and they both looked at me like they had no real understanding of what the internet was or what the hell "Yelp" meant. I've come here several times before and overall, the guys here have done a pretty good job for the price. A couple of weeks ago, I decided to bring my brand new Tesla Model 3 for a $60 wash & wax (didn't need much more than that). They did an amazing job & they dried every nook & cranny. I was very impressed with the job they did. Weekends are there busiest time. But, even though their place doesn't look like a pro detail shop, don't let that make you want to go somewhere else. Buyer Beware. My detailing job was $250. So I was not getting the "cheap" deal around. My detailing job ended up costing me an additional $300 when in an effort to clean my seats (the driver seat was the cost) they wet it so much that they fried the electronics that allows the seat to go back and front and up and down. The seats were so wet that I left the doors open all night, then on Monday morning my seat was still wet and laying back because the motor was fried, I put a fan on it all day hoping it would dry it out and alow to work, not so lucky. When I called to just say that they should use less water, I was hung up on. When we went down there to see if they would even pay part of the cost, we were told the owner is not there. The other areas of the car look good, but $250 is not cheap, and $500 is certainly a little more than I am willing to pay in the future. read more

I was told to stay away from those non hand car wash places because they can do more damage to my car's paint and windows. I decided to try Max Auto detail. I drove up and was greeted. They offer a regular wash or a hand wax.. it's all 100% hand wash! My car looks better than when I picked it up from the dealer. These guys work hard. You get a great wash for the money compared to the bigger places with the "hand wash" lines. It's a small place so sometimes they get busy. Love this place these guys know how to wash cars. They even make sure the center consule is clean and those hard to get places between the seats are taken care of. Not too busy so even better no long wait time if you do wait try the Thai place just down the street its really good. FYI the biggest reason I came here is that i don't want my rims to be scratched my car by those want to be hand wash places which they just put your car in a conveyor and rims get scuffed and those rags on those machines really don't clean anything off. read more

Do not come here! I brought my truck In for inside detailing because hot chocolate fell on my seat. They're definition of deep cleaning the seat is using a old wet dirty rag to clean. I was so upset on the very low quality of work. My car stunned the next day and the stain was still visible on my seat. I went back to get it fixed and they looked upset that they had to redo it. After going back twice, they still didn't remove the stain. Waste of my time and money. This place is not a legit auto detailer. Don't waste your time. read more

Came here on a Sunday because i couldn't find any other places that hand wash your car that were open on Sundays. Paid $20 for a car wash. They washed it inside and out. They left it nice and spotless. and on weekdays a car wash is only $15. Might be my new spot. Definitely will be back. read more

5 Star for Service, 2.5 for atmosphere. This is a small 3 bay Service garage that does a true hand wash vs a large machine operated car wash. I am glad to see small business in Whittier working hard. I would recommend to the owner to put up some better signage so to drive in additional business, clear out the junk cars in the front drive up lot and declutter the back alley and waiting areas with more seating to make it more appealing to women with kids as I wouldn't send my wife down there by herself. I was very please with the quality of the workmanship and the $20 price on a Saturday for a large SUV was perfect. I will be back to support this business, perhaps they will implement these ideas. read more
