Don't do it. they do not care about the customer and it shows when I've repeatedly called and text as well as emailed after the delivery. it was about 6 weeks ago and I had some furniture seriously damaged from the move their response was that's why we have a claims department. so I emailed and text and called and I've received no response. their intial conversations were really nice and relational and they warned me not to read reviews. now I wish I had. Ryan never got back to me, the dispatchers sometimes answered but never got back to me. Be wary of them sending you screenshots of fake reviews. I will attach. They hire other companies to do all the work but promise you a cheaper price, and when things go wrong you cannot get in touch with them. Run FAR FAR AWAY from the thought of ever using them. This is the most unethical company i have ever had the misfortune of doing business with. We provided pictures and measurements of everything that we wanted moved from NY to RI and received a fair price and signed the contract. The movers arrived on time and loaded without incident but upon arrival in RI they informed my son that the price would be double of the agreed upon amount. my son told them he wanted to pay the agreed upon price and they said that unless he paid the new price they would take all of his stuff back to NY and keep it in thier storage facility. No justification was given for the increase and no additional items were added. In fact, the cubic feet of items was under the amount on the contract. This was total extortion. They run a slick organization specifically designed to first hook and then exploit you: underquote initially, have a clause about "exceeding estimated square footage" somewhere in the fine print, and then hold your stuff hostage until you've paid three times the quote. Hello, So, I used this company to move my family from New York to Virginia. They come on July 31, 23. We arrived in Virginia the next day on August 1, 23. There was some delay on the Amtrak, so we arrived after 3 pm. My cousins were there to receive the delivery. After unpacking everything we realized that we were missing boxes. I have been calling the company every day and all I get is BS. They called, and they found the boxes and will have them delivered to me. It's been 3 months since we moved, and no one answered the phone that they blocked my number. I called from a different phone and now it says the number is no longer in service. I want my belongings and take them to court. Also, some of my items came broken. I'm disabled and I have medical equipment and my daughter's dental items and they don't care. We are a couple, ages 58 and 60. We are detail oriented and take notes of conversations held always. We send emails to get confirmation of what was discussed. Despite all of this, we were overcharged nearly $700, almost twice what we were initially quoted, at the end of this ordeal with Max Moving. Max Moving isn't the only moving company we've ever used, but they were by far the MOST DISHONEST and THE WORST. In the span of the two months that we planned and executed this move, they had 2 employees leave the company or get fired. At least that is what we were told when we asked to speak with them to try to understand why they told us things that were not the truth. Max Moving promised a delivery on a Wednesday, verbally and in writing. We bought plane tickets, took time off from work, to meet them for the delivery to help our son, then they said the person in the office made a mistake in the date promised. We had to pay plane change fees of $200 on top of the what appeared to be an intentIonal under quote. When we asked to speak to a manager, we got Jim the supervisor who appeared to be willing to "talk to the boss" to make things right. After speaking with us a few times, he never called us back or followed through. Jim essentially ghosted us! Then there was the move day. What a fiasco! The truck was hours later then promised the night before, the boxes were mislabeled a somehow and we got boxes that wasn't ours and didn't get boxes that were ours. But wait, there's more. Only one mover showed up in the truck, and MY HUSBAND HAD TO HELP UNLOAD THE TRUCK AND CARRY THE CONTENTS UP TO THE APARTMENT!! All of this while being overcharged an additional $250 for stairs that we told them in the initial quote. We are now pursuing filing an official complaint with the Better Business Bureau and exploring what other options we can take to hold these scammers accountable and maybe spare future victims. We moved from New York to North Carolina and booked a 26 ft truck. It took a week before we received our things. We had to pay $5,600 up front and $2,400 cash upon arrival. The truck was loaded on a Saturday and delivered our things on a Saturday. We discovered things missing from the truck and asking the driver about our things, he was clueless. After 2 hours unloading our stuff the driverer decided to take a nap while the other guy was sleeping. I called the owner and spoke to Issac asking him how do we get our stuff or is he going to take so.e money off the price. He hung up on me. Whatever you do DONT BOOK THIS COMPANY TO MOVE YOU. They will lowball you, increase the prices tenfold, FORGET YOUR BOXES AND IGNORE YOIR MESSAGES AND CALLS, AND I ended up having to call the police because I requested to see my things before paying the balance, which I only asked due to them leaving them. My tv stand was broken, my bookcase was DESTROYED, and my desk was taken apart and delivered WITHOUT ANY SCREWS. They then refused to remove any trash and refused to put anything together and refused to take any responsibility due to all moving being done by subcontractors. Max Moving is a scam and so is every single one of their "cross country movers" that they supposedly have across the states. I was given SEVERAL times and none of them were correct. I urge you to hire a different company. Max Moving Vanlines was absolutely horrible. The biggest issue being that they damaged several pieces of furniture and the claims department has not replied to me in 4 weeks despite many emails and calls. The claims department is fake. Moved from NJ to LA and it was the worst service. Their team stole items (ps5, console charging, and other teams. They also increased price 3 times the amount. DO NOT USE them. They have been evasive at best with following up on my claim submitted a month ago. Absolutely horrendous !! Gave detailed items with dimensions and after everything was packed in truck the price almost doubled . The bait and switch scam. The minute they left with my deposit and furniture, my contact no longer responded back to my numerous phone calls, emails, and texts. Delivery date was not as promised, just like the low ball quote and was delivered to a storage 6 states away with a family member receiving it. Before the truck arrived, I was threatened that if I didnt make a Zelle payment to the driver( not the company) that he would stop at the next overpass and throw my stuff over. Having no options, having my goods held hostage, I finally sent the balance, which took time due to his suspended accounts. After finally moving and having access to storage unit, I found all the protective plastic removed? and damage to most everything in the unit that was hastily throne in along with missing items. I had requested a inventory list from them from the day they picked up furniture til 2 weeks later on delivery and still havnt received. I telephoned with detail description of what I had to move from Philadelphia PA to Randallstown Md. plus a drop off a couple blocks from the original stop. They quoted me a price for space that would not hold the amount of furniture and boxes. In addition did not include the drop off address. upon arrival the drivers determined that I owed an additional $650 for the space that I originally stated clearly I needed. I would not recommend the company. The drivers were very courteous and efficient and they worked fast at accomplishing the move, but who wants to have to pay an additional 650 from the quote that you have received as being your final amount due .,They called the owner he was very nasty and talked about me like a dog. If I wasn't on a timeline. I would have cancelled the Move. One of the workers said she can hear you. He said he didn't give damn. No communication once your stuff is picked up. They came and moved everything into the truck from the house efficiently. when the truck was loaded the driver tells me now my bill is over double than what I was quoted. Upset I was way over budget for the move told them to unload the truck because I couldn't go over my cubic for space that I didn't have the money. they dropped the bill a bit. driver talks to someone in the office and asks me when do I need my stuff. it was Wednesday. told him I get the house on Friday. so Friday or Saturday would be good he's heavily sighs and nasty say fine ok. moving from NJ to NC. Was told 2-3 days. on Friday I call multiple times trying to get an eta on weather they are delivering Friday or Saturday. told on the phone they will talk to dispatch and get back to me. no one called me back. Saturday comes and no one one is answering the phone. if you could not deliver on Labor Day weekend they could have told us. now I'm paying on a house with no furniture and having to sleep elsewhere my pets in boarding. Turning into an expensive move. I moved from LI, NY to N.C. I felt, by the salesman, they were great at moving. They picked up my items & furniture on a Mon. nicely, brought my items to N.C. in a "different truck" on Wed. I noticed several boxes that were extremely wet and asked why. I was told well they unloaded the previous truck of your items and placed all your stuff on the grass, in the yard, come to find out my items were out ALL NIGHT "and" damaged were: 40" TV, 1/3 of screen smashed to pieces; Boxes were gone through as my tape was off and/or open on most of boxes. MISSING a complete wardrobe box, with my summer clothes; large grill- 2 yrs. old wheel bent 1/3 and can't be wheeled now; Kitchen pantry, complete outside top shelf brackets damaged beyond repair; BRAND new sports backpack for granddaughter GONE and 2 motorcycle tops in it GONE; small table chunk missing from front; TV stand chunk missing out of back TOP. I was assured a refund AND they don't answer my calls and don't respond to messages I leave. I would NEVER, EVER use them again. They cheated me out of my money and faith in them!!!! read more
