Absolute perfection. From the first email, to the phone call to the service. No damage and I suspect some of the furniture they took apart may have been put together better than before. I was nervous about our 60 inch tv but, no reason to be! All was well! They literally laid out the red carpet, (okay it was blue) to ensure our floors were good. I can't recommend Blue Collar Moving enough! The booking and quote process with Danielle in the office was straightforward and transparent. We sent in photos of our stuff so they could estimate for us. Danielle was always a pleasure to speak with and was very thorough in answering questions and confirming as the date drew closer. On the day of our move, the truck was ready to go at 7:45am for our 8am start, very prompt and prepared! The guys were all very friendly, introduced themselves and were ready to get to work quickly. Our moving day was absolutely terrible weather with unending torrential rain. Despite the terrible weather, they were able to move quickly and load the truck. When we got to our new place, we faced a surprise roadblock from the fire department responding to a call at a nearby apartment that delayed getting the truck in the parking lot by us. Despite it all, they stayed within the lower end of our time window - they were still so quick and efficient and we are so thankful! We couldn't believe how much they fit into each Pod. Very fast and careful. Have nothing but praises for the experiences I've had with Blue Collar Moving. I've called and contacted quite a number of moving businesses for my move and Rob was one of the ones that responded back to me very quickly and courteously. After he explained their billing system with me I decided to go with them given the high reviews here on Yelp. From there on it was a very smooth process to move our bedroom apartment. I was a little bit worried since I did not get a heads up call ahead of the time but the truck showed up exactly on time at 9AM which was quite a pleasant surprise! The moving crew worked really fast to wrap up and moved our furniture. I was equally impressed with how much tapes and blankets they use to wrap up the bigger furniture, definitely no room for error on their part. My previous moving experiences I've always arrived plenty ahead of the moving truck but with Blue Collar they didn't take any breaks nor slacks when on the job, the truck arrived maybe only 5-10 min after I got there at the new apartment. And again they moved very quickly yet professionally to unload everything. Update....a week after moving in I plugged in my basement television, and it was broken. Entire screen spider webbed. It was a $1200 Samsung bought a few years back. Long story short, they were extremely unreasonable with resolving the issue and I was left extremely dissatisfied, and short a perfectly good tv. They didn't trust me, basically blamed me for breaking it. I will never give them business or refer friends to them. In response to the comment below: Of course the tv looked the same when not turned on. But it's obvious that the screen took hard impact during the move. Also, I contacted you 9-10 days after the move, on Monday July 3. Not 2 weeks after, that's just false. But I'm glad you stand by your resolution. My partner and I moved from LI to Astoria two months ago - thank goodness Blue Collar had a cancellation once we realized (the week of, no less!) that no, we actually could NOT move everything ourselves! I cannot say enough nice things about this moving company. They arrived on time. They were professionally dressed and acted professionally. They wrapped everything as if it belonged to them. Upon delivery to my new home they navigated the difficult staircase and delivered every piece but one and that they returned to my other house. Every piece of furniture arrived safely and was placed where I directed it. They finished earlier and came in under the estimate and when it was obvious that the 4 guys were no longer needed the owner released two to save me some money. After hearing horror stories from all over the Internet and friends who'd used movers in the past of missing drivers and ignored estimates, I was very nervous to hire someone to move a few things from my in-laws home to our new home a few towns away on Long Island. We'd moved most of our things ourselves, we were down to two large and heavy antique dressers and our king-sized mattress. After nearly killing ourselves getting them into the house, we swore that we'd never move them alone again. I called a few movers off Yelp, most were based out of Manhattan and would charge extra to come to the suburbs. I called three movers on Long Island, one gave a lower estimate, and one gave higher. When I called Blue Collar, only they came out to the house; something I thought was a bad omen for such a small move. He looked over everything, and gave us a number that was much closer to the lower number than the higher, plus he moved us that Saturday, on Fourth of July for the same price! The movers came right on time (ten minutes early!) and spent most of the first hour just taping up the furniture, including the mattress. Moving the heavy furniture out, which we had struggled over by ourselves, took minutes, and without any damages. Even though we had said that we would move most of the other things by ourselves, we asked them to take two or three extra pieces which wouldn't fit into our cars, which they gladly accommodated. We didn't even watch them unpack our things, they were so quick. And, because they beat the already low estimate by a half hour, they saved us another fifty bucks! Looked into a few companies for a quote before settling, but Blue Collar was the only one that gave me an accurate and quick estimate and explanation of price break down. The owner came and gave a specific estimate in person (wore a mask too which is very important nowadays). On the day of, the movers showed up on time, took everything apart with no problems, and were very timely. They even finished with 15 minutes to spare. I know a lot of moving companies find ways to add "hidden charges", but we paid the exact price that we were quoted since we did not need additional time. Very clean service and friendly movers!
