Great little place right across the way from the 24hr Fitness. Packed with great sports nutrition and supplements, this small shop host some of the most knowledgeable and kind people I have ever met. I came here looking for some whey protein and they not only helped me select the product best for me, but they also educated me on how my body would break down the product as well as the other products that I was using. They also have a fridge packed with cold drinks that are perfect for anyone in need of a recovery drink. Awesome place, Great people, Good products offered. They don't have as much product as like a GNC, but what they do carry is top notch. No store brands that are all filler. As such, prices reflect the product. A little more expensive, but hey... I pay more for a steak at a single sitting... so I will shell out for this stuff. read more

Typically, I come in with $150-200 in cash, walk up to the owner and I'm like, "Jack, I'm fat, shot out, recovering from a broken knee-cap, I'm ready to get back in shape, this is what i'm taking, what else do I need?" I seriously only end up spending about $100. This has happened to me a couple of times already. Then I say "Jack, I got another $80. 'Is there anything in here on top of what I already got that I could take to supplement my diet?" And 9 times out 10 he'll say "Nope, you're all set". I live in Downtown Sac and every time I go to GNC they always ask me, "Sir, Have you had your multi-vitamin today?" I promise they'll ask you that every time you go for the exit. They're always trying to sell me something, but with Jack he treats you like family, not a dollar sign. Jack's wife and sister work there too and they know their stuff. I could call in and ask the price on whey isolate, what flavor, how many g's of protein per scoop, how many scoops and their quick. I walk in there and Jack's not there, no problem. They know what time it is. It's also cheaper here. If Jack didn't know jack about supplements and had crappy customer service, I'd still come because the prices are so cheap. Just sayin'. read more

I came in one afternoon when Cyci was at the front. I told her I came in for a new preworkout and some quest bars ($2.50 each, I know I can get them cheaper on bodybuilding.com but I would rather support local) but I had left my wallet in the car. She said I could take them now and pay later but I insisted I would just come back after my workout, I did. This time Jack was at the counter and we talked for a good 30 mins. He's like a friend now! I bought 7 quest bars and mentioned that I was looking for Cellucor C4. Although out at this location, apparently he was stocked at another store they own. He asked me what flavor and brought one in the next day for me. 60 servings for $39.95. Cheaper than online :) faster than if I would have ordered, and again I get to support local. I will definitely be back to buy some other things. Probably tomorrow! The personable owners and fair and honest prices will keep me coming back. And when I called they had a recording saying they had to move due to the new arena and when only open for appointments, it's sad they had to move.. but I really wish they would have posted the update on Yelp, I made a special trip to get vitamins and suppliments because of the great reviews, so I was pretty disappointed. read more

This place is awesome! The owners are both friendly,knowledgable and welcoming. It is rare to find a place to feel comfortable dropping 100-200$ but knowing the benefits of what you using and how to use them properly is what keeps bringing me back. They always let me try out new products and I really appreciate that. I have been here before and had great customer service from Jack in the past. However, today I waited for them to open only to get a "back in 5 minutes" sign. This is understandable, however I have now been waiting 20 minutes for an employee to arrive. I work as a personal trainer and will no longer be recommending this place to my clients considering that they are not open during the hours that are posted. read more

Seriously the best nutrition shop around! I met Jack some odd 5 years ago when I wondered in just curious with little knowledge of what I wanted or needed. He talked to me for a good hour explaining the pros and cons to every item. Some nutrition shops they try and just sell you a bunch of things you don't need, but not here. He told me straight up I didn't need certain items I contemplated getting. He didn't try to over sale me just gave me the facts and guidance I needed. Since then him and his wife have gone above and beyond to help me on my physical journey of getting the best results my body possibly can. Ever since this store has opened I've been a loyal customer I get every thing I need for my pre and post workout needs , excellent prices , great and easy to access location across the street from 24 hour fitness downtown , has everything I possibly need and the workers are excellent I used to go to GNC and they wouldn't know about most of their products they were more of salesman , but these people will tell you everything and their honest about their products and also when I'm in a rush and don't have time to go home for a post workout drink I go across the street they have a huge fridge full of em Ill be coming here for years read more

literally stayed from the gym 30 mins to talk to the guy there. and the next day i got there with the doors locked and a sign saying be back in 5 after wating 5 mins or so he comes down the street sells me my supplement and gives me and my buddy who bought nothing a free drink of my choice i spent 25 bucks there and he gave us both 4 dollar drinks just for wating a few minutes. fantastic customer service read more
