Today was our 3rd time coming here and will unfortunately also be our last. The first two groomings went well, and we didn't have any complaints- but today that was definitely not the case. We dropped her off and asked for an area trim for her paws and sanitary areas, as we usually do. We picked her up an hour 1/2 later and she had dark red painful looking markings/ burns on her lower stomach. She had also been crying and seemed very stressed. The lady at the front desk explained that the clippers got too close to her skin and caused a reaction. They applied aloe gel and offered a discount, but I am still unhappy with the state of my dog as this has never happened to her before. Although mistakes happen, we will not be returning. read more

Jellybean had an awesome time -- or at least that's what I'm assuming from how cute he looked afterward! They said he was a little nervous, but judging by his post-groom zoomies, I think he got the five-star treatment. Communication was on point, super professional setup, and they still managed to accommodate me even though I basically showed up like, "uhh... help?" This place is GREAT! It seems like they specialize in small/toy breeds, but they welcomed me just the same. I have a 70 lb Pit Bull Mix and she hates having her nails trimmed. I made an appointment at a different groomer in the area, but when I walked in, I was so grossed out by the place that I walked right back out again. In desperation, I hit up Yelp and got Max's. I walked in without an appointment and they were able to take her right away. A few hours later, I picked up my dog. Her nails were EXPERTLY ground down, and she was as happy as could be. Prescilla is the best! We had issues with previous ownership where to a point that we didn't want to bring Yoshi here because he had a lot of issues (chronic ear infection, red skin, matted hair). They had a lot of complains about cutting Yoshi's hair because he's a bit aggressive and even told me at one point that we need to do something about his ears and skin. I just didn't say anything cuz we have been doing everything already and nothing works with him. We do our best to wash him regularly but he's been a stinky dog ever since he was young. Anyways complete opposite of Prescilla! All smiles, from the moment we drop him off and when I pick him up. No complaints whatsoever. I was going to be in the area and was looking for a groomer to take my big girl Bella Bleu and called them for a last minute visit and they were very accommodating. They took Bella in!! She gets nervous when we arrived to a new location but they were so welcoming and allowed her to get settled in before I left. The location is super cute and looks very clean and inviting. They did tell me that it would be 2-3 hrs because they want to ensure that they take their time. Which is great! They texted me about 1.5 hrs to let me know she was ready. She seemed very happy and calm when I picked her up. The owners are super sweet and the groomer's are friendly as well. They're always so welcoming, and they leave Canelo (my terrier) perfect, so fluffy and clean. The fact that they all even call out to him when I walk into their doors is so nice. Happy Paws used to be my go-to groomer for ~1.5 years, and they consistently did pretty great work, making my dog look amazing every time. They handled my dog well, despite her fear, and the staff has always been friendly and accommodating. However, due to some issues in the past, I decided to stop going. Mainly, the scheduling can be quite inconsistent. Sometimes, I could get an appointment within the week, while other times, they only had openings in six weeks, which made it really challenging to plan around my work schedule so far in advance. Also after returning from my last visit, I noticed a small dried nick on my dog's neck that the groomer hadn't mentioned at pickup. While I understand that grooming can be tricky with a skittish dog and maybe messages can be lost during a busy day, the lack of communication was off-putting and certainly had an effect on my decision to try a new salon. Overall, there's room for improvement. Despite that though, they still made my dog look amazing after every visit. read more

I love this place! I have been taking my girl here for the past 5 years. I am a bit picky when it comes to my dog. I love her and I only want the best for her. What I like about this place is that they hand dry your dog and they don't put them into the very loud and terrifying drying cages. Instead, they dry by hand with pet blow dryer. They do a great job about following instructions. I try not to be an obnoxious dog owner but I am and they are always very friendly and accommodating. They do tend to get a little busy but they are worth the wait. I bath my dog once a week and have her professionally groomed once a month. This has helped my girl beautiful and radiant. read more

I had such a great experience at this place. I brought my dog here for a nail trim and it was the most positive experience I could have had at a groomer. My dog tends to get very anxious and dramatic when it comes to nail trims but they were so knowledgeable and were able to calm him down and get the job done. When we were leaving my dog even tried to go towards the lady who trimmed his nails for pets which is very rare since he is usually so shy and anxious. I've been bringing my cat here since moving to the area and the owner and her staff are great I understand the landlord recently decided on a surprise rent increase and provided the owner with very little notice and the business may be moving after 18 years in this location. Somebody should tell the landlord there are LOTS of open storefronts on Main St. Far better to take care of a valued, 18-year tenant than pinch them for an extra $500 a month and force them to look elsewhere. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. My dog is 14 years old and has been going to the original Happy Paws since she was about 3. She always looked nice and was well taken care of, but after today she came home traumatized. She came home yelping when we touched her back and shaking profusely with her tail in between her legs. She is currently curled up in a closet not wanting to get out. My family and I were unaware of the new owners because they did not let any of their clientele know and had we known this we would not have put our dog through this. We are not sure what exactly happened in the groomers today, but our dog will never be going back. She has never acted this way after a visit with the groomers or even a vet appointment. I wouldn't want any dog to go through anything similar so please save your dog the trauma and don't go here. read more
