I came here because one end of my bridge had loosened. Instead of a straightforward evaluation, Dr. Max made inappropriate comments about the dentist who originally placed it, saying he "had balls" and that the bridge "wasn't made properly." I was then given a $33,253.00 treatment plan involving extraction of three teeth, bone grafts, three implants, and a new bridge. Nothing I was shown justified removing those teeth. I went to a prosthodontist for a second opinion. He removed the bridge easily, confirmed it was in good shape, rebuilt the teeth, and recemented it. No extractions. No implants, No bone grafts. The bridge fits beautifully - and at a savings of $29,753. Huge difference in honesty, professionalism, and treatment approach. DEFINITELY get a second opinion. read more

Initially, Dr Max seemed sincere and the office experience was and still is outstanding. However, a disturbing pattern involving referrals to specialists and services needed which I was convinced were best for me. I had expensive work to save a tooth, when I should have had the tooth extracted. I just became a patience of Dr Zaslavsky this year. I started with a cleaning because of a very good special so I figured I would try it out. I just moved from Miami to Fort Lauderdale and for 22 years had the same dentist. I really only went for the cleaning but after my first visit I thought Dr. Zaslavsky was worth giving a try. A few months later I had to get two crowns and he did a great job. Dr. Zaslavshy is incredibly knowledgeable and always takes the time to thoroughly explain procedures or treatment plans. He has a great sense of humor which helps me relax. He is always concerned with your comfort and make sure you have your choice of music during procedure. He helped me overcome my huge fear of getting shots in my mouth. He also went completely out of his way to meet with specialists about a specific condition I had going on with my teeth. It's been several years since I've been to a dentist, because, well, life. Unable to find the time, or without insurance. I finally decided I was going to make time. My husband ran across an ad for Dr Max and after his previous experience with a big name dental office where they forced him into paying way more than he should have we decided to give Dr Max a shot, it's a haul from our house to the office but, by gorge it's definitely worth it. Hands down the best overall experience from top to bottom. The front desk was excellent and helped me figure out my insurance issue after multiple attempts - they went above and beyond. They made the effort to come out to the lobby and introduce themselves and made me feel so welcome like I had know then for years. Dr. Max is one of the most caring dentists I've ever used. He is also my client of my business. I went to him because I have a fear of the dentist. This happened when I was very young. I needed work done and he told me it wouldn't hurt and I did not hurt. He's incredible and has plenty of patients when it comes to speaking and letting you know what he's doing. His prices are much better than the other dentist that I went to that gave me an estimate on what needed to be done in my mouth. I would recommend him. He is extremely patient especially with me who can only sit in the chair for a minimal amount of time due to anxiety. I've seen Dr Max a total of Three times. He is a professional and if I may say a perfectionist. He won't stop working until the job is done and you're looking good. It's funny how some people confuse being cocky to confident - he just knows his craft. Dr. Max is one the most kind, nurturing, caring and most of all extremely compassionate dentist I have ever known in all the dentist I've ever been to. The one thing I love About him is that he's extremely thrower when it comes to treating whatever dental issues you might be having. Great great great! And were talking about a dentist here!! From the receptionist to the hygienists to the dentist himself, everyone is knowledgeable and professional. Great dentist! I arrived at the office after having a little trouble finding the place. Because of construction, my GPS got a little confused. The office is in a nondescript office building next to broward health. Its proximity to broward health is confusing. The office is on the northwest side of the office building on the outside first floor. I got lost and called the office. The receptionist did her best to give me directions. We got disconnected and she called me back to make sure I found my way! I arrived to a clean office. I was greeted by reception and filled out the necessary paperwork. Then off I went to have my teeth cleaned up. Since it was my first visit, the hygienist took xrays of my teeth and my bite. She was quick and efficient and explained what she was seeing. She then measured the length of my gums and explained that process as well. Next up was the cleaning. She was thorough but quick (I do keep my teeth really clean though). She continuously checked to make sure I was comfortable and explained if she saw an area of concern. After my cleaning I was taken to another room to meet with the dentist. His assistant greeted me and then the dentist came in and did a full examination. He is very detailed and saw things that other dentists had missed. My husband saw him first and absolutely raved about him, which is what prompted me to go. I got a clean bill of health, but my husband had two fillings. He was able to get an appointment for the very next day to have the fillings done and is pleased with the result. I am very picky when I comes to doctors, and I highly recommend Dr. Max! read more

This was the most thorough dental experience I have ever had in all my 28 years of cleanings. They went over my mouth with the dental equivalent of a fine-toothed comb. I even got to see pictures inside my mouth from a tiny camera. So cool. My teeth were so much more noticeably clean and polished, like little pieces of porcelain. To give some back story, I get very anxious when it comes to dental work. Terrified, maybe. I have been next to myself trying to find a new dentist down here. Recently moved to Ft. Lauderdale from Cleveland, OH. I had the "best" dentist there, and never thought anyone could replace her. Not taking anything away from her amazing practice, Dr. Max was pretty much my savior coming down here. I went in a very short time ago for a cleaning (I cannot remember her name, but my teeth have never EVER been so clean), and I briefly met Dr. Max. I found him to be very professional, polite, and straight-to-the-point. So, I have met the dentist only for a few minutes, and it was time to get some work done. Time for the anxiety... Not really Ashley was the assistant to Dr. Max today, in fact. I was completely put at ease, never had any reservations to anything that was going on, and just really enjoyed (as much as you can getting fillings) myself. I got to choose my own music, saw the minimal but entertaining banter between Ashley and Dr. Max, and then had a very positive interaction with Monica on the way out (and over the phone beforehand, too). I can't say that I "can't wait to return", but going in for a cleaning next time will be my pleasure. I first met Dr. Max as a guest at my spa and we became friends. He kindly invited me on outings with his girl and friends when I was newly single. Over the years, he chided me about switching dentists, but I remained loyal to mine. Sadly, my former doctor was forced into early retirement due to a car accident. Though I liked the one that took over his practice, he soon brought in other (newly licensed) Drs so he could step back and "consult" and the service became impersonal. So, hellooooo Dr. Max! He runs a sharp office. He is busy, but so incredibly patient and gentle -and witty- he'll make you laugh! He explains in clear layman's terms and always asks if you have any more questions before departing to the next waiting patient. He treats me with kid gloves when I become nervous to tears during dental procedures beyond a basic cleaning. I appreciated that he aimed for perfection when I needed a cap. He carefully chose the right color and made the lab redo when he didn't like the fit (he ultimately changed labs and is satisfied with the current one). He's passionate about his craft and thus, stays up-to-date on the latest procedures. I have been seeing Dr. Max for almost 4 years now. He, and frankly his whole office staff, are some of the best I have ever had the pleasure to work with. No one likes going to the dentist. Dr. Max makes it as enjoyable as possibly but the most important this is that HE KNOWS HIS STUFF. He doesn't promise quick fixes and he is really realistic about setting my expectations and still I always look better than I imagine. This last visit gave me back a smile I am proud of for the first time in over a decade. If I only listened to him and did it sooner! But since he was a gentleman and didn't pressure me to do cosmetics I couldn't afford, I have been able to keep up the maintenance I really needed. I don't agree with SoFire B. Dr Max and his staff have been the most fantastic dental experience I have ever had. They also make you feel like part of the family. I switched from another dentist that did have issues with the way patents were treated but WOW, Dr Max could train other practices how to make your patients feel and look great. As far as missing appointments, every one of my doctors have a sign stating that you will be charged for missing appointments if cancellation is not made a prior to the appointment. SoFire ........ you shouldn't blame the doctor for your memory loss. Every time I called them, they answered. You must have called them on a Saturday or Sunday. In my book ...... Fast, efficient, direct. Didnt have an appointment, but he made time for me, because i was in pain. This is a great show of character. Less than 2 minutes in the waiting room after finishing paper work. Xrays were done with no wait. He came in very quickly to look. overall, the longest i had to wait between anything, was 5 minutes, and that was to check if the Novocaine had kicked in. He cares about his patients. Dentist is the last place anybody wants to be, so choosing a good one is important. I can happily say, I've made a good decision. read more
