Every once in a while, you come across a particular pool hall complete with a full bar that ends up holding a special place in your heart. A place where you can just shoot pool for hours, eat above average bar food, and chill. When we lived in El Paso, Clicks Billiards was that place. We weren't sure we'd ever find a place like that again after moving. Then....we found Maxamillians Billiards. And if first impressions mean anything, I believe we've just discovered our new favorite watering hole. One thing I did not expect a pool hall to serve was brick oven pizza. Right off the bat, that's a bonus star in my book! Oh, for those wondering, the pizza was excellent, btw! A thin crust perfectly toasted accompanied by a slightly sweet (but not too sweet) sauce which compliments the cheese brilliantly! Sharing some properties of traditional NY style pizza, I'd certainly give this one a 10 out of 10. The buffalo wings weren't too shabby either. Tangy sauce with just enough kick to be not too spicy. I couldn't find a single thing wrong with these ones; 10 out of 10, would recommend. Now then....when it comes to service, it's surprisingly good. For the most part. We *did* have a slight hiccup in the beginning when I ordered a Cab and the lady brings back what appears to be a Chardonnay. How in the hell you confuse Cabernet for Chardonnay, I'll never know. But I don't hold it against her entirely. Because, believe it or not, this isn't the first place to have done that to me. It's just that I'll never, EVER understand how anyone confuses the two. And I definitely spoke loud enough for her to hear me. Other than that though, service was great. I do wish she had came by a little more often so that I could reorder drinks. But to be honest, it seems as though the servers here are slightly overwhelmed. See, I believe there were maybe 3 attendants for the entire series of pool tables running that evening. You also have to keep in mind this place has a full bar to boot. As in...one you'd expect to see at a regular restaurant. In other words, these servers definitely have their work cut out for them. So naturally, I gave her the benefit of the doubt and exuded a zen-like patience. Plus, she was wicked sweet. So, we gave her a generous tip. Speaking of which, there's also an onsite ATM in the front by the entrance for anyone in need of cash. And a lotto machine to boot. How New England of them. XD For those wondering, this pool hall does have a private parking lot. I know that can be a concern for some when visiting Mass establishments. Though that tends to mostly depend on the city you're visiting. Though wifey and I will always miss Clicks Billiards back in El Paso, Maxamillians Billiards is a more than suitable replacement for us. And I am giving them 5 crispy cheese pizzas baked to perfection in a brick oven out of 5. read more

I used to come in here frequently when I lived in the area ~3 years ago. Now I return about once a year when I visit a friend in the area to watch a Patriots game. Overall Maxamillians is a solid pool hall with a lot to offer. They have a pretty big bar with an okay beer selection, plenty of pool tables, lots of TVs for watching sports, and pub poker every Sunday night with the Eastern Poker Tour. I always come for the poker which is a great deal. $15 for a pizza & salad buffet that comes with a free poker game and cash prizes. The service here could be better. I came in this past Sunday with a group of friends to watch the Patriots game. The first round came quick but getting the attention of our server after that was a project. We weren't being obnoxious but it almost seemed like she was purposely ignoring us while she was standing at the bar chatting up the other bartenders. The food here is well above average for pub food. I split a plate of nachos (which was 1/2 price during the game) and they were very good. They used real shredded cheese rather than the crap fake nacho cheese some places use. Then I played poker later which came with the pizza buffet which is always a treat. I believe they make their pizza in the restaurant next door (I could be wrong about that) but their pizza is always excellent. First impressions was that this place was kind of divey looking. After dinner at Burton's Grill, we decided to come here to enjoy some billiards and darts. It had a good amount of patrons there but we were able to get a table fairly easily next to the darts in the far end of the establishment. The bar area was pretty cool, it was large and inviting and the view from the billiards area was cool. What I didn't like was the service. The waiter was very introverted.. I guess you could say. She'd come by real quick and take our orders, skip like 2 out of the 6 that were there and just zip off without saying a word. This continued throughout our whole time there so there were people with drinks and people without. Another thing I didn't like was the fact that the bathrooms were at the other side of the pool area right next to other pool tables that were occupied by many people so I had to wade through them, interrupt their game so I can use it. There's plenty of parking and it wasn't expensive or anything since the beers were affordable but honestly, I don't see myself coming here again. read more

I went to the bar, ordered our drinks, waited another 10 minutes.. guy bartender never made them. So we had to order again from another bartender. This place is one of a kind.. For better or worse. For better: Great spot to watch a game. They have many tvs, one huge screen and then several (maybe 8 or so) smaller flat screens. They are linked up next door to Boston Pizza Co. which honestly makes some of the best pizza ever. You just have to try it but it's always cooked perfectly, and there's somethin to the sauce (it's a little sweet) that makes it so good. Best part? It's only $5 for a large cheese whenever the Sox Celts or B's are playing. It's kind of a gamblers paradise. Many a night me and my friends have spent more money on Keno and scratch tix than we would want to admit. The service is pretty good. Waitresses/bartenders are always making sure you aren't low on whatever you're sippin on. Or worse : Even though it's got a great TV set up, it's a little bit of a dive. It's rough around the edges. The men's room.. This really prevents it from 5 stars. There are two urinals and one toilet.... And no dividers. Even for the toilet. And no lock on the door. No joke. You could literally walk into the bathroom and see somethin you really don't want to see. On top of that it's really not clean in there either (not that it should be a surprise at this point) All in all I do recommend this place to catch a game, some beers and some seriously good pizza. It was a Pool Hall kind of night. Exactly what you'd expect from a Pool Hall/Bar. Gotta be 21 to enter of course. Rates aren't too bad, it's charged weirdly but between two of us for two hours it came to $20. Draft beer was $7.50. Don't expect to be amazed lol. I only come when it's dead but it can be crowded and busy especially Saturday nights. Pool tables are a bit worn so look at your tables before you settle at one. If this wasn't the only pool hall I would have looked elsewhere just as options. read more

Seems okay for what it is. Service was pretty bad. No one ever offered to get us another beer after our first round. The pizza was likewise. I'd probably fail a blind taste test if you set it next to a Red Baron. For 5 bucks during a game it might be worth it, but 20 bucks regular price for what's basically a Red Baron pizza was too much. The wings looked pretty good but I didn't try them. Most of the beers on draft were IPAs. I'd probably rate it higher if I was there to play pool, because they looked like they did that pretty well. read more

3 years after giving my initial positive review of Maxamillians, and having played in their pool league ever since, I would like to offer an update: The establishment has only grown in my estimation. A superbly-run pool league for all skill-levels, 14 full-size tables, truly great staff, excellent food, superior sports bar with killer TV's, and good food and drink specials. They also offer private events, Drinkable Arts, poker tournaments on Sundays, and more. Pool league members get discounted table rates on non-league nights and $5 shoot-all-day rate on Sundays. Sound like and ad? You bet. That's what a review of an establishment that is firing on all cylinders sounds like. And this is no snapshot. read more

Went to their first UFC fight showing last night and am not impressed. Walking into the place I knew I wasn't going to be getting gourmet world class dining but I still expected some pretty decent pub-esque stuff. 5 dollar cover for the fight is pretty much standard around here, the beers were cheap, but the whole setup seemed cramped and was ( like another reviewer said ) a townie bar. At one point mid-fight the main television was changed to the home shopping network for 5 minutes while people behind the bar tried to get the fight back on. The waitresses and bartenders looked like they were miserable and I found myself zoned in on the fight cramped in my chair between a thousand other people. I have been sitting and wondering how to review this place. I thought it best to just list it all separately. Service: We sat at the bar and never played pool. We were offered drinks in a very timely manner but never offered a menu. We asked another customer to hand us a menu that was in front of him. Drinks were refilled whenever they noticed our beers were empty. They took our food order but only after we asked them to. Food: Buffalo pizza was a bit dry however the crust is thin and perfectly cooked. Wings were small but tasted great. Atmosphere: A bit divey. Other customers were obnoxious. One couldn't stop complaining that his wife was getting fat. He just wouldn't let it go. If he thought he had a shot at one of the 20 something yr old bartenders he was very wrong. They were unimpressed. Btw, I don't think he owns a mirror. Pool tables are set away from the bar. It never seemed loud even as they became busy. A wonderful place to watch a game and play keno. I am flabbergasted by the reluctance of New England bars to show March Madness games. Note to New Englanders: just because you all have zero interest in your local universities' athletic programs does not mean that people should not be able to go to bars to knock back a few and cheer on Butler as the Bulldogs upset #1 Pitt. The BF and I went to Maxamillians in the hopes of watching the games. A single tiny TV was showing a college basketball game. I understand that the Bruins are playing, but do you really need to have the projection TV tuned to "30 Years of Mike and Tommy" (sound down, of course)?? And don't even get me started on the Keno. I wish a Masshole could explain to me the appeal of this quote-unquote game. Thankfully, our nice-enough server was willing to change the channel to the Temple-San Diego State game, but 15 minutes later, our view was obscured by some doofus in a huge leprechaun hat setting up amps for a performance. (St. Patrick's Day was two days ago, dude. Lose the lid.) We finished our cheap pub eats and got the hell outta there to pick up some beers at Market Basket and make it home in time for double overtime. CORRECTION: The beer glass was in fact 16 ounces, not 12 ounces. This place was ok, although I had high hopes walking in. It looks like a very nice version of a "towny" bar. About half of the space in the bar is devoted to pool tables. My friends and I had no trouble getting a table to sit at and order food on a Friday night at 7:30pm. The bar offers $5 pizza when the Celtics are playing and it bothered me they wouldn't give us the $5 price at 7:45pm when the game started at 8:30pm. It also bothered me that the order of chicken wings we ordered was charged an extra 50 cents for sweet and sour sauce. My last nickel and dime complaint is that the Sam Seasonal Draft was $4.75 but only included 12 ounces instead of the typical 16. On the plus side, my friends that are smokers loved the indoor smoke section. We didn't actually get to play pool but the tables seemed busy and popular. read more

So, lets start with the bad. The bathrooms. I can't speak for the women's room, but in terms of the men's room there is very little privacy. There are two urinals and a toilet and there are no dividers between any of them. God forbid, you have to do #2, you will have no privacy doing it. On to the good though, the place is really nice. Although its not the cheapest pool I've ever played, its not the most expensive either. Nice place to hang out. The food is superb. When initially reading the reviews, I was turned off when I read about a cigar room. That room is isolated from the rest of the venue, so you wont smell smoke unless you want to. Pool tables are really good quality. So in summary, bathrooms are terrible, everything else is superb. read more

Great place!!! My absolute favorite place in the Nashua, Tyngsborough, Lowell & Dracut area. Between the service, bartenders and cook I don't know who's better. Even the owners are absolutely fantastic! Best service, drinks and food ever. I love coming here after work for dinner and a drink or even for my occasional pool game. Meegan is one of the best people I've ever met too! Has my beer ready as soon as I walk in! Talk about great service. We went her for some fun to pass the time. I had not been here since they moved down from Nashua. I liked how this set up looked a lot like their last building. The tables did need some love, but we had a great time. It was slow when we went in there mid day on a weekday. The staff were slow to get the Keno or gamblers tickets done, and after an hour of play we waited in line about 10 min for the staff to come check us out ( I would have been sure to let them know they made us wait longer (and i would not have been charged for that time) The girl was over at the pizza shop and the bartender (who was busy had to leave her bar and customers to go get the girl next door ) not good as all the customers could clearly see what was happening. the bathrooms were very clean. ladies still smelled of bleach from a recent cleaning. the men's i guess was less clean, and the door couldn't lock. the house pool sticks were in good condition. the tables needed some updating, pockets are very worn. but it was a great time, very clean. we will definitely go back. jukebox was out of order, but the music playing was interesting but definitely someones play list and not completely customer friendly at times read more

I play pool here every Thursday. It has outdoor seating and a cigar room. Very nice and upscale. $5.00 pizza's any night of a Bruins, Red Sox, Celtics and patriots. I didn't know its the same owner as Boston Pizza which is attached to the pool room. I would suggest a company outing or night out with your friends. Come check it out. read more

Awful. Went in for a drink with my boyfriend on Saturday night thinking anywhere would be packed on a Saturday night. Nope. Not here. Probably because it smells like a toilet and all of the staff looks miserable. My boyfriend wanted to play a few games of Keno but the smell was SO bad we HAD to leave. Horrible experience.
