The Bang Bang Broccoli was easily the highlight--honestly good enough that I briefly considered canceling my entrée and just doubling down on that. The bolognese was... fine. Not offensive, not memorable, just existing on the plate doing its job. The place was pretty packed, but somehow still calm. Lots of people, low murmur, nobody yelling over table noise--basically a small miracle. The beer list is huge, which is great if you like choices, or terrible if you're the kind of person who panics when offered more than two options. All in all, I liked it. The sesame chicken salad came out with a stunning presentation! The fixins inside were fresh and made a complete salad. The chicken was crispy, which I love! I often meet up with a friend for a meal at the halfway point for us which is Burlington. I'd dined her before but it had been a year or so- new place for my dining partner. We shared a delicious pretzel with beer cheese sauce and some sliced apple. I had fish and chips (huge fish) and she had the Korean crispy chicken. I think everything used a cornflake crust with different flavors. Large servings. We both enjoyed our meals. Our server was friendly and attentive- change the channel on a nearby TV so we could watch the Sox. Lots of surface parking but still a bit hard to find a spot. Comfy atmosphere. Went for my cousin's birthday. They took reservations, which was great because we had six in our party. They sat us right as we arrived at our reservation time. The menu is quite extensive, and there are a lot of gluten-free options, which was fantastic. Everyone loved their meal and their drinks. The server was super nice and brought my cousin a special dessert at the end of our meal for her birthday. It was very loud but was expected. The Celtics were playing the seventh game and a lot of people were rooting. There's so many televisions so you can see the game from any aengel that you were seated. This is my favorite TITS location of the bunch. I've found that service, food quality, and ambiance here all seem to be a level above the rest. This location sets the bar. For appetizers, we usually always get the wings. They're smoked and then I believe flash fried. Always tasty and tender. The fried pickles are great, too. Having a food allergy can be tough, not here. Virtually anything can be accommodated for, and the managers bring your food over with an allergy alert. For entrees I always get the bbq chicken pizza, or the Cajun pasta. I also LOVE the buffalo mac and cheese, which can feed you for a week. The drinks are very good. The beer menu is huge. I would give this location a 10/10. Always check for see the wait prior to coming. If you're in the area, definitely stop by! read more

On this visit I ordered the Korean crispy chicken sandwich with Rosemary Parmesan french fries. All I can say is this sandwich was five times better than any other chicken sandwich out there The sandwich must' have weighed a pound. It was that heavy. I ate half of it , took the rest home The french fries came in a large bowl. I thought they charge me for a side order, but they didn't that's just the way they give fries. I think it was way too many fries yet. I appreciate it. The value $18 for the sandwich and fries was incredible. The roll was delicious. The maple dressing that they use in the sandwich was incredible and the pickles inside the sandwich were dynamite. I can't say enough about the sandwich. It was big, it was hefty. It was way too much. I'm not complaining. It was a fantastic value my guest ordered the steak tips $29 another guest ordered the fish and chips $24 And my other guest ordered a salmon bowl$25 portions were. Excellent and everybody enjoyed. To the average Millennial and/or Zoomer, retirement can seem like a distant, unattainable concept to most. Yet on this mostly cloudy New England day, I found myself attending a celebratory retirement dinner for a dear coworker whom I hold tremendous professional respect for. Hence, he chose Tavern in the Square as his outgoing request. Knowing this, I wanted to believe there must be some special sentiment regarding either their cuisine selection, drinks, service, or combination of the three. What I was met with instead was....a sublime mediocrity comparable only to the likes of a poorly conceived Fody's. Keep in mind, this is merely based on a first impression. And seeing as how you only get one shot at that, this is as fair of a review as I can give them. I want to start out by saying that the service was beyond reproach. I mean, aside from forgetting to bring me an extra side of tartar sauce, I can't really complain about the servers' performance at all. They were all very attentive and prompt; which is saying a lot, considering we had two tables with a combined total of about 17 persons in attendance that evening. 9 out of 10 for their outstanding performance this evening. What I found absolutely shocking, however....was the food. It wasn't all bad. But it was all over the place in terms of execution. So, let's talk about the Caesar salad for a minute. What do you imagine the perfect salad to consist of? Semi-copious amounts of dressing with positive quality control on which lettuce pieces are used and tender-ish croutons that still have just the right amount of bite, right? Yeah, well....the salad possessed a severe lack of Caesar dressing, accompanied with croutons that were hard as boulders. I won't even get into the stalky lettuce pieces they used since I can usually eat past those anyway. 4 out of 10 - how do you f*¢k up salad?! Before I discuss the main course, I want to give a quasi-honorable mention to the menu. Whilst some may view the selection as bold and interesting, I found it rather middle-of-the-road, limited, and boring. Perhaps this just isn't my scene and, remember...this is just my opinion on things. But it's worth mentioning because virtually the only thing I felt willing to try that was NOT a burger was.. The fish n' chips: normally a classic New England favorite of mine (since I grew up here n' all). Ultimately, the fish was the best part of this whole experience (thank whatever deity you worship) because at least it was tender and flavorful. As for the chip crusted breading, it could have been thinner. I don't mind the different approach to the composition of the breading itself. In fact, I was intrigued by it. I just wish the outer layer didn't resemble the outside of a tree stump. The fries it came with straight-up pissed me off. They were almost totally inedible due to being cooked to oblivion. This created an outer shell that was rock hard with the innards completely hollowed out. Seriously, if your kitchen is jacking up the fries, it may be time to get a new deep fryer. That or....double check temps of your oil. Either way, this dish was like a 5 out of 10 for me. Couldn't even finish the fries. Oh, side note: another coworker of mine got a Long Island Iced Tea which looked a lot more like a Mimosa gone wrong. And no, I didn't sample any. My coworker, on the other hand, confirmed to me that his drink was, indeed...ass. At least the house Cabernet was fine. The bar area looked vastly roomy and inviting as well. So, there is that. Like I said, the best part of the evening was basically the service. Had it not been so stellar, I'd probably be giving this place 2 stars, at best. Ah well. Proof positive that service can *somewhat* make up for otherwise subpar cuisine. Needless to say, I can't see myself coming back here ever again (for dinner, anyway). Not because it's bad or anything. But because it just doesn't seem to be my scene, I think. Well, unless you're a vampire or a lion fresh from a Serengeti hunt, this burger is not for you. I ordered medium well. What I got was "mooing in the middle." I swear I saw it twitch. Cold. Raw. I've seen sushi with more grill marks. Meanwhile, the entrée table next to me was finishing up their dessert, writing Yelp reviews, and probably filing their taxes while I was still sitting there hoping someone in the kitchen would realize beef needs fire. Located next to the Burlington Mall, Tavern is a classic spot to get together with friends. I came here on a Sunday afternoon with a few friends and was able to still order brunch. I got the Apple danish pancakes and they were spectacular. They are massive, 3 pancakes with cinnamon in-between topped with apples and frosting. I wasn't able to finish the whole plate, so took it back home to enjoy the next day. The service was great and the music selection was pretty old school. The place was pretty full with small groups of friends and families enjoying some time out together. I would recommend coming if you have a big gathering of people. read more

Average Tavern experience... great for a bite to eat with family, and out of all the locations, this has been my favorite one. Came here with my brother on a Friday evening with no reservations, place was half full. Service was a bit on the slower side, and we had to signal the waiter a few times, but we got our food relatively quickly. We started with some chips and guac-- the chips were the stars of the show, the guac was unfortunately forgettable. There was nothing to it, just slightly mashed avocado with cilantro on top. It would have been much tastier with more toppings, and needed seasoning. Chips were great, though. For our mains, I ordered the Nashville Hot Fried Chicken Sandwich with French fries, and my brother got the bolognese pasta with a side of fries. I honestly expected more from the Nashville sandwich... specifically more spice. It was more on the sweet side, reminded me of General tso, and I ended up requesting another side of hot sauce. My brother's bolognese dish was tasty, but needed more seasoning. Burrata cheese was excellent though, he loved it! Throughout the dinner, we kept trying to get ahold of the waiter, but it was quite hard. Place seems understaffed. read more

Went to this restaurant with a friend later in the evening so we were sat pretty quickly without a wait. Our server was friendly and checked to make sure we had everything. We both had burgers to the cooking preferences and came juicy to eat. I found that I needed to let mine cool a little before eating because the juice from the burger kept burning my fingers. The atmosphere was very sports fan encouraged since there are lots of televisions with different sports on at many different walls and the voice level is high enough that some people may lean over tables to hear conversations around their table. read more

We visited this establishment with the intention of having a light meal the day before Thanksgiving and wound up full of delicious and savory tapas. Firstly, the host and our waitress were both very nice & friendly, which always makes it a pleasant experience. The interior was pretty dark- but nice and moody...I just prefer a little brighter light to see what I'm actually eating haha! We ordered everything from the appetizers portion of the menu: I ordered the classic pizza with a side of steamed broccoli for my veggies. The pizza dough was super light, but had good flavor...and there was just the right amount of cheese. Even the steamed broccoli was cooked to perfection. Hubby ordered a caesar salad with light dressing, and they got it right and a side of chicken tenders. I had to eat one of his chicken tenders because the batter looked amazing...and it was. Very different from your typical tenders...I think it was cornflake battered...wicked awesome! All in all, a great first time visit. I visited Tavern in the Square with my 93 year old mom. She and I walked in with her walker up to the hostess station. They asked if we had a reservation and replied no. There was no way we would be able to wait long as it would have been too much on my mom. The gentleman at the host station and the hostess said don't worry we got you. The hostess walked us through the sea of people at the bar and the wonderful patrons parted the path like Moses and the sea. We got to our deuce and ordered our drinks. We told the waitress we were in no rush, so we took our time ordering and when we did order, asked her to hold off, placing the order. The waitress waited until we gave her the wink and then placed our order and we had plenty of time to enjoy our drins, a glass of Pinot Grigio for my mom and a delicious ghost spicy margarita for me. Even though we didn't wait long once we placed our order a manager came by and said your food will be out shortly. We replied no problem, no rush. It was nice that they were attentive, not knowing we were in no rush at all. When out waitress delivered our meals, I had the steak and avocado salad with a medium rare steak tip cooked perfectly, my mother had the fish and chips with the substitute of the mashed potato. The fish was delicious. Not your typical fried fish and chips it was a crispy fillet served on a bed of mashed potatoes per my mom's request. Pickles and tartar sauce were on the side to accompany her yummy meal. The whole experience was perfect. It is very intimidating for my mom to go out to dinner to a busy restaurant because she worries about getting situated. The staff could not have been more accommodating and the food couldn't have been more delicious. I was so pleased with our experience. It consisted of a Red Blend, Marie Brizard Apry, New Amsterdam Lemon, blackberry liqueur, lemonade, lemon lime soda, and fresh fruit . It was as delicious as it sounds. Later on ended up ordered a fruity shot to celebrate my girl's engagement. For food, I ordered the Bayou chicken pasta. It was slightly salty but still had good flavor. We usually go to the one in Lowell l, but we were in the Burlington area. We sat at a table at the bar. Service and cocktails were great. I ordered the steak tips with garlic mashed and was disappointed. Steak tips were great! The potatoes were not. They were not garlic mashed. Unfortunately, they tasted like instant. I know that because that's what we ate when I was a kid. I payed $29 for the meal. If garlic mashed was not available I should have been told so I could have made a different choice. I did not say anything to the bartender as it was not her fault. It was too busy to put a complaint in with the manager. First time I ever had a bad food experience here. Unfortunately, my dish was awful. I ordered the Chicken Quesadilla, tres quesos, roasted peppers, black beans, cilantro, salsa, crema. $14. I asked for no fresh cilantro and they did not add it. However, the roasted peppers were cut in too large strips and so falling out of quesadilla. The chicken was thigh meat and many pieces of the shredded chicken were dry and crunchy in my mouth. The tortilla was very oily and just not appealing or tasty. I will say the crema was good with a kick of spice. My friend had the Garden Veggie Pizza - $17 mushrooms, asparagus, four cheese blend, white sauce, arugula, parmesan with a cauliflower crust for an additional $2. Two things about me: I'm not easily impressed with food from chain restaurants and I don't like pumpkin all too much. However, when I saw goat cheese, pesto, and hot honey paired with something sweet (pumpkin) in one dish, I knew I had to try it. The pumpkin and goat cheese pizza is as amazing as it sounds. The pizza crust is super thin so all the flavors are at the surface of every bite. I think there was actually butternut squash on top instead of pizza which made me super happy. The pesto was great since it provided the herby fresh taste. The goat cheese was creamy, a bit sharp, and had a generous amount. The drizzle of honey made my taste buds super happy. I wish there was a bit more but maybe it had just the right amount to not overpower the other toppings. I would highly recommend trying this pizza. The talk Tikki to me was a very tropical and sweet drink so it's a solid cocktail but I may have enjoyed the stuck on you. I would say to not be alarmed by the fact that it's spicy.
