3rd visit in a few weeks time, the bar service is PHENOMENAL! Our only complaints were the absolute lack of air conditioning (90+ degrees out and no working air flow on the second floor)! You sit there for 30 minutes and you lose your appetite, causing the restaurant to lose money. Watched multiple people walk in and directly back out even with ample bar space. The food is some of the best I've had at the chain. Love the wings, feta dip, general tsos chicken, and burgers! Drinks and friendly conversation with bartenders is amazing! If you don't make a reservation, don't bother sitting anywhere but the bar. They have 6 hostesses on a given night and not a single one will greet you or act professional. Can't get an accurate wait time aside from "X number of people ahead of you". No communication that upper and lower level seating waits are different. At the end of the day, come here for the bar and decent food. Don't expect air conditioning or appropriate management. read more

Came here before a concert to grab a quick bite to eat. It was packed, with a 35-40 minute wait for a table for both floors. We waiting about 10 minutes then found seats at the bar. Even the bar upstairs was full. My winter spice sangria was pretty tasty, not used to a sangria with those flavors but I liked it. I then ordered the smokehouse burger which was good. I really liked the flavors and the cowboy butter. Food took a little longer than expected but we still made it to the concert on time. It was pretty inside decorated for Christmas and it's right in Tuscan village which is nice. Plenty of parking though it took a while to find a spot. read more

The manager was so disrespectful , we were bringing a wedding party back to the bar and I wanted to talk to the manager to ask questions about seating and music, I literally touch him to lean in closer to hear him and he freaked out his rudeness was so unacceptable I was literally shocked on his behavior. When I questioned him on his behavior he said I couldn't drink there. I'm from New York City and I've never been treated that way - so disrespectful I was literally shocked on his behavior. And he continued to berate me until I left the bar. This is not acceptable and appalling that this was acceptable. I've been twice and really enjoyed the visits. The first trip was exceptional. Service fast food amazing and a really fun vibe. They have a rooftop area which I have used yet but I will next visit. The second trip was not as great. Order apps 10-15 mins before the main course and they came out with the food! That is a major pet peeve of mine. Food was good but not as flavorful as the first trip. General Tso is a great dish. The even deep fry the broccoli and toss it in the sauce. My husband got the fish and chips but said it was only okay. Don't enjoy the panko bread crust. We will definitely be back and hopefully they'll get those kitchen times on point. Just the outside of the building you can see the type of atmosphere it will be. Its a super fancy looking place. Very open but welcoming and friendly. The hostess (whome i found out is the manager after we were finished) was friendly and polite. The waiter,Alec, was right off the bat amazing. Super friendly, talk-a-tive, just how we like it. My boyfriend and I do enjoy our friendly waitress/ers. So he made our experience amazing before we even ordered our food. He recommended a very delicious fruity drink for me. Than the food. I had the honey salmon super delicious. Cooked to perfection. No complaints from me. My boyfriend had the burrito and fries. He likes his simple food which is totally fine. We went to TITS recently and had a nice time. The place is HUGE space with up and downstairs. We had good meals and pleasant service and we signed up for the rewards program. My peeve is that we can not get a reservation at the time we want. You reserve through OPen Table app - online. I try for days ahead even a week ahead and still cant get a table during a weeknight between 6 and 8:00 PM. There are plenty of open tables before 4:00 and then after 9:00. Its odd and we dont want to show up and wait for and a hour or more. So we go elsewhere-- to bad as we are local and want to love this place and hang out. read more

I am not sure how this location stays in business considering the way that it's run. This is the third time that we have had absolutely horrible service with food, not a care in the world. All the bad experiences happen when we sit upstairs. Order a dish without a scarp and it is within. Order pickle chips and they are ice cold. Stopped by TSQ to have lunch with my friend. We are in the Loyalty Program & had rewards to cash in. I highly advise joining because of the perks. We had our entire meals at no cost to us. My friend had the Steak and Cheese Crunch Melt. She said it was delicious. I probably wouldn't get it because it is a little spicy. She chose Mac & Cheese for her side. The portion was large enough for a meal & she took most of it home. I tasted it-so rich & creamy. I had the Steakhouse Burger with a side of Sweet Potato Fries-so good! After a long day of shopping we stopped into Tavern in the Square for an early dinner. The restaurant was packed but once we were seated we hardly noticed. If you try anything at Tavern I insist you try the whipped feta!!! It is absolutely divine!!! My only complaint was there was not enough bread, however, our amazing waitress got us more no problem. Came here for my brother in law's grandmothers bday and I'm so glad we did. It's located in the heart of Tuscan Village so parking can be rough but the weather wasn't the greatest so we found some decent parking. The service was very good for the restaurant only being open less than a month. My whole family really enjoyed the dishes they picked and now it's time to talk about my food. I picked the Picanté Burger because it was my first time here and if you can't make a burger then I don't want to try anything else lol. The burger consisted of crispy bacon, pepperjack cheese, pico de gallo and chipotle aioli. I really enjoyed the burger and all the ingredients went really well together. I was surprised that everyone in my party loved their food. I'll definitely be back and the prices are reasonable too! So give this place a try if you're around Salem. read more

Tonight, we went to Tavern in the Square at the Tuscan Village for dinner. Surprisingly, we only waited less than 30 minutes on a Friday night, even though the restaurant was filled to capacity. I ordered the sweet and spicy Thai chicken salad, and my friend had the steak & avocado garden salad, they were both delicious, with the steak cooked perfectly. The staff was attentive and friendly. My only minor complaint is that my mock-tail was served in a slender glass, mostly filled with ice and not very much to drink. Additionally, it took a while for our server to return to our table to ask for takeout boxes and our check. Towards the end of the meal, she didn't ask if we wanted to see a dessert menu, which would've been nice, but we were too full to ask anyway. I might try going again, perhaps for lunch on a less busy day. During our meal, it was a bit too loud, making it hard to hear each other talk. Overall, a good experience! read more

You would think a restaurant with 17 locations should be able to get something as simple as steak tips, broccoli and mashed potatoes right. My daughter and I went to Tavern in the Square for our weekly night out. The location we went to was in the Tuscan Village. The décor is very nice and if you are going out for drinks and nachos this place may be alright for you, but a delicious dinner its not. Not what we got anyway. I have to say 99 is better. This place is obviously run by investors that want to make as much money on these restaurants as humanly possible. They have 17 locations, 2 upcoming locations and 4 sister restaurants and 2 upcoming sister restaurants. I should have paid attention ahead of time. I would have known you are never going to get a cooked to order meal out of a restaurant chain of this size. Certainly not your average chef run business. We got drinks to start. It was late so we just ordered everything at once. Sirloin steak tips which are described as in a house marinade which came with garlic mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli for $29.00. We ordered the tips medium. We also got a Chopped Greek salad with chicken at $15.50 and a Classic Pizza at $15.00. They do not serve bread. The sirloin tips came and had no char on them from the grille so obviously were not cooked on the grill. They almost seemed like they were boiled. Even if they were baked, they would have some sort of char on them. They had no marinade taste, were well done as seen in the pictures by not a drop of juice on the plate, and tasted gamey. I only ate one and that was all I needed. The broccoli was literally RAW. It is described as steamed but I think they skipped that step. If they threw it in boiling water for two seconds to brighten it up that's all they did. The garlic mashed potatoes had no garlic taste and were instant. read more

I've been coming to Tavern for so long now, I really enjoy the atmosphere and the FOOD! There is a waiter here named Alec who is absolutely exceptional. I always hope he's working when I come by. The short rib bolognese tortellini with whipped ricotta is amazing. And I love the tavern burgers (especially the black and blue burger). There's a lot to choose from. Tavern In The Square Salem NH opened at Tuscan Village across from the Artisan Hotel & Tuscan Kitchen. This casual restaurant & bar offers two levels with a full service bar with seating & TVs overhead, booths, high tops, and table seating on the main level and a terrace level with rooftop bar and more seating. Like the other locations, this location offers a food menu with burgers, sandwiches, salads, bowls, small plates, appetizers, wings, and main entrees (steak, chicken, seafood, pasta) and a kids menu. The bar offers around 30 beers on tap, wine, sparkling wine, mixed drinks, and cocktails. I stopped by TSQ (that's their chosen acronym and not the other one, wink*) in Salem NH for Saturday lunch (the TSQ in Salem MA closed a few years ago). I took the liberty of making an online reservation before heading here. I got here and the place was getting busy with 15 minute waits to be seated or no wait if sitting at the bar. Since I had a reservation, it took the staff a couple minutes to seat me at a booth across from the bar. The TVs were showing a college football and NFL game at the same time. Before Covid, I used to hang with my buddy at another TSQ location in Northborough (no longer TSQ) to catch Sunday football, where they had an excellent Sunday brunch buffet and good bloody marys. However, this location just opened this week and it was regular menu only (no brunch menu, yet) at the time of this posting. As I sat down reading the menu, a server arrived to take my drink order (ice water) and I started out with Guacamole ($10 plus tax) & chips, which had a cup of fresh smashed guacamole and lightly seasoned crisp corn tortilla chips. For an entree, the Baja Fish Tacos ($18 plus tax) which had 3 fish tacos with blackened grilled haddock, mango salsa, avocado, chipotle aioli in soft tortillas and a cup of cumin black bean chili. The food overall tasted pretty good with two servers checking up on things. I was all set and the check came out to $30.38 with tax and before tip. I used up a gift card I had for several years. In all, I enjoyed a good uneventful lunch and hope to come back to watch some NFL games soon. read more

Last night was our second visit to this location. The food was delicious on both visits, but the service was horribly slow. We waited at least 10 minutes before our waitress approached us for our drink order. The drinks took so long to arrive we decided to skip the appetizer and just order our entrees. Everyone was finished eating, empty plates on the table, and playing on their phones for 20 minutes before the waitress checked in and we were able to ask for the bill. We love other TSQ locations. We eat there often because our son has Celiac. But disappointingly this location is off our list. read more
