Well Saturdays for me appear to be babies day out. I had to get another MRI just to see the progress in my leg. And right across from the shields MRI there is a place called stir. Being both hangry we had to try it. Hands down the best appetizer which included chips and a flight of dips, dinner was a steak cooked absolutely perfectly. I had my first drink in a very long time which was a cotton candy martini which was absolutely delish. In for dessert The coup de gras was creme brulee. The service was fantastic. We were seated right away at a good four person low top table. Our server was prompt and super helpful with drink and menu suggestions. Our drinks and food were brought out right away as well as our check at the end. We ordered: 1.) Crispy Brussel Sprouts - 3 stars because ours were almost burnt which gave the brussel sprouts a too charred taste despite the sweet sauce doused on top 2.) Stir Dip Trio - 4 stars - This trio consisted of the spinach dip, buffalo rangoon dip, and street corn dip and was served with fried wonton chips. The chips were the star of the show, very crunchy, just right salty and the perfect pairing for any of the dips. The dips were pretty good. Our favorite was the spinach, then corn then buffalo in that order. To be honest, we came here mostly to try the drinks. The drinks were fantastic as we knew they would be. The food here is mostly American and to be honest, it is pretty basic. We could tell from looking at the menu and then the pictures on Yelp that the food wasn't geared towards our lunch or dinner cravings. I do not know what kind of clientele they are seeking to attract here, but during my recent visit, I ordered a NY sirloin medium rare, it was cooked to order, but the beef of was low quality; I took a couple of pieces and was drinking Saratoga sparkling water. There were two groups of young females at the end of the bar and, after checking in with each other, settled to have lunch. Plenty of parking, bar is high! read more

The feedback on Yelp is binary with many 5 stars and a healthy number of 1 star ratings. My rating is a function of service and a high price point for an average product. It is Boston pricing without distinction. It should be exceptional. I simply don't understand the hype around this restaurant. Dark is the decor with a minimalist approach to design. It is noisy yet void of high quality sound. Most of all, the service was challenging. For the price point, it didn't hit the bar. The server wasn't attentive; more transactional. A manager never checked in with us. We received our appetizers before our drinks arrived nearly 30 minutes after we were seated. Our plates were not cleared before we received our entrees. As a write this, I wonder if Stir merits a 3 star rating... When our drinks were served, my Old Fashioned was an orange flavored sweet mess that I had to return. For a restaurant that is called Stir, it was a big miss. The wine is very pricey. On another visit to the bar, I noticed it being restocked with many bottles of Smirnoff. Is that the default for martinis? Service at the bar was fine, but bar tenders were more focused on closing. For appetizers, we had the spinach & artichoke dips as well as the buffalo crab Rangoon dip. The Cajun wonton chips with the buffalo dip were good, and the dip itself was fine. The spinach dip was ok, and the chips were too few and probably should be something else. The grilled swordfish was solid though a little dry, but well flavored. Our friend found the short rib ravioli fine, but wasn't pleased with his order. The scallop risotto had perfectly braised scallops and a very good overall taste profile. read more

Today my girlfriend and I went to Stir for the first time. Loved the modern atmosphere and the fact that there was not one single t.v. in sight!! I had the white sangria which was delicious, sometimes they aren't sweet enough for me, but this one was perfect. My friend had a glass of white wine and we started with some dumplings as an app which were very tasty. I had the Caesar Salad with chicken and my friend had the Beet Salad with a side of French Fries. We were very pleased. Our server SK was very attentive and friendly. At the end of the meal she brought us a small taste of their homemade Limoncello. It was creamy and delicious. I had never had Limoncello like that before. Stir just went to a new location in Westford, so we thought we would drop in and try it. Love the décor and the long bar that has ample seating. A great Martini list well curated we ordered 2 General Tso's Cauliflower Bites over the one and half hours we were there. We had Manhattan and Dirty Gherkin. The Manhattan at $20.00 a piece was fantastic. The Dirty ($17.00 apiece) needed some spice - so a hot dirty maybe would be better. So, for a Westford bar it is particularly pleasant but for a Martini bar some things need to be tightened up. A chipped glass was soon remedied but should not have made it to the table in the first place. Nice gals behind the bar but let's put on a show right in front ...make the martini right there and pour into a chilled glass. Do not make it over on the side and spill it on the way. Stop the chit chat between bartenders and make it easy for reorders. It is on the pricy side as 4 drinks and 2 Apps was $130 with tax and tip but if they just made some of these professional changes, they would be well worth it. We will be back as the area does not have a lot of competition, but we are not running back. More like 3.5 stars but I gave it 4 as it has so much potential. read more

2 of us arrived around 5:15 on a Friday evening and took the last 2 seats available at the bar. There were still a few tables open. By the time we left, it was packed. SERVICE: Sarah is friendly and attentive. She seems to know all the patrons and made for a very warm experience. BAR: My cosmo was PERFECT! And adult size. Bravo Sarah! I also like you can get either 6oz or 9 oz wine and the prices are very reasonable. Even the coupe glasses are respectable size, not like the tiny ones that are gone after 3 sips. I saw so many beautifully presented cocktails. ATMOSPHERE: As it filled up, it did get a bit loud. There are smaller rooms near the back where the sound quality is likely better. It is very welcoming inside and tastefully decorated. FOOD: The shoestring truffle fries had excellent flavor. Next time I will ask for them extra crispy as after a few minutes they started to get a little soggy. The sauce they are served with is a unique accompaniment which I enjoyed. The were 5 scallops in the seared scallops with risotto dish, $33, cooked well, however needed seasoning. I've had the pleasure of dining at Stir three times now, and each visit has been memorable for both the incredible food and the amazing staff. From the first visit, Erica and Jill set the bar high with their warmth and compassion. We had just said goodbye to our dog, and they made the experience so special with a champagne toast that truly lifted our spirits. On my second visit, I was there with friends, and we had the pleasure of having Fiona as our waitress. Her dry sense of humor had us laughing all night. Erica even stopped by to say hello and check in, remembering me from the first time. For our anniversary, my husband and I came back, and Kailey was our waitress. Her energy was absolutely contagious and made our evening even better. Jill and Erica both came by to say hello and celebrate with us. It's touches like these that make Stir such a gem. We love dining here, and with the attentive, friendly service, two hours always feels like the perfect amount of time to enjoy a delicious meal. Can't wait to come back for more unforgettable evenings! Ok, it's been several months since I was here last, so time for another review. First, the vibe in the place is upscale and with the lighting a bit brighter inside than my last visit. You can see other patrons which I liked as it gives the feeling of being a part of an "in" establishment. The service from our server was excellent - couldn't have asked for any better! We were with friends, a group of 6 of us. I will not go into detail, but I was a bit disappointed with the food. No one in our group exclaimed how good their dish was on this their first time dining here. My wife and I thought an overall score of 3 stars was appropriate. Not sure if they have done anything to mitigate the noise level since my last visit. The room is still noisy, but we were in a corner booth, and we could have a conversation across our table without effort. A quick scan of the room showed that martinis and wine are held highly and enjoyed by many folks that evening. To be fair, I think I still yearn for the initial opening at their first location in Westford where I loved the many small plates on the menu. Considering the place was filled in the middle of the week, many folks are very happy that Stir opened a bigger store. read more

Furthermore for a restaurant that claims to be a Martini Bar you need to absolutely own how to make one. Visit other places, practice and mess up until you prefect how you make this easy a$$ drink. The Hot and Dirty was disappointing. The level of liquor was pleasing, they certainly don't skimp there, but the flavor was crap. Um and excuse me the drink ware?! Please polish them as one should. The picture below is concerning on how little it seems you care about the appearance of the product you put out. This glass is just plain dirty, thank goodness the liquor in the drink killed anything left behind from the last person that used this glass. My sister and I were excited to try this place using gift cards we got for Christmas. My overall rating would be C. Ambiance was nice; little dark and noisy inside but funky lighting. We started out with arancini bites which were really crunchy, not moist inside at all. My sister got a lobster low mein special. The lobster was overcooked, not fresh at all. I ordered the petite double surf and turf. 2 tiny bite size peices of filet that was chewy at best... substituted rice for mashed potatoes which was hard and crusty, cold. The lobster was terrible, overcooked, hard to remove from shell. The shrimp was ok. Best thing on the plate were my glazed carrots. Our server was friendly, no complaints there but I don't think we'd return. Plenty of other better restaurants out there that serve delicious drinks and food, and not as pricey. When you come in from out of town you need to go out for dinner with friends who live here. We have been visiting for over 20 years and we know the area well. But sometimes you find something different. It is a place you normally pass by. But sometimes it is different. Word of mouth is that it is a place that is different and unique. And, since a friend is recommending that you go for dinner, you decide it is a place to try. Plus, they are know for a martini. Or two. It is not a large place as you pull in the parking area. You can see it is small. But the lot is full. So there must be a crowd inside. And with the name above the door how wrong can it be? it is STIR. And if you know the phrase from an old James Bond movie (Dr. No) then you know it is the way that Bond likes his martini: "Stirred. Not shaken." So, we went through the door and met the Sophie, our hostess. We were lucky. There was one table available at that moment. We agreed and sat down there. Naturally, in a place known for a Martini it is the way to start. Especially as you are going through a menu with many entrees to consider. What we know is that everything is freshly made. Nothing is from a freezer or a store. This was all made that day in the kitchen by the chefs. This is what you expect. Sophie arrived with our drinks. Everything was fresh from the bartender. The martini itself was filled to the top. You couldn't even hold it in your hand for the first sip. It was that large. We made our toast and then took a sip. The martini was as I expected and what I recalled. It was dry. Fresh. The vodka I wanted. It was stirred. Not shaken. It had three olives that were filled with Blue Cheese. The first taste told me I had a real martini as I expected. It is rare to have one like this. We placed our orders and it was time to wait. While we did this we enjoyed our cocktails. It was perfect timing since, as we talked, our appetizers arrived. We kept this simple enough. We had a RED BEET AND RICOTTA SALAD. It was made with fresh red beets that were cooked and marinated that day. It was crisp and had a flavor to compliment it. It was also mixed with Ricotta that was sliced and mixed in. This was topped on a combination of lettuce and some spices to give it an accent This also had a vinaigrette on it for an accent. The salad itself was large enough for two individuals. Our other salad was a nice mix of BERRY AND GOAT CHEESE. The berries were fresh. A good combination. This was then placed with fresh goat cheese on top of a mix lettuce with walnuts and apple cider vinaigrette. It was also large enough for two. It could be a perfect lunch to have. Next were the main courses. First we had LOBSTER AND LEMON MASCARPONE RISOTTO. This was an excellent combination of lobster tail and claws mixed with the risotto that has lemon, thyme and mushrooms. We also had an order of LOBSTER MAC & CHEESE. It is a level above traditional mac & cheese. This was freshly made pasta that morning. Once more it was topped with lobster claws and tail. The cheese was excellent and made the flavor nice and melted to have an excellent taste. Next we had to try SHORT RIB RAVIOLI. Once more this ravioli was made that day. It was light and fresh. It was then stuffed with short ribs and some spice to give it a flavor. It was topped with a homemade mushroom demi-glace. This is not a red sauce. It is a compliment to the ravioli and short rib. Naturally you had to have a LASAGNA. How can you not when in a restaurant with a touch of Italian. Only this time once more it is fresh pasta that morning. The sauce was definitely homemade and not out of a can. It was light, gentle and plentiful. The cheese was nice and melty. It had a touch of bolognese in the meat that filled the dish along with some spinach. This was a good dish to have and to remember when cooking at home. Along with our cocktails and conversations, this was an excellent meal before we headed into the holiday season. It was our time alone to enjoy our company, and our dinner, together. We thank Sophie, and the team for their help. Thanks to the bartender for those cocktails, especially that wonderful martini. Chef Thomas is an expert, and the team is perfect in creating these meals. This was a special place where they take a traditional concept and convert it into something new. Something you might imagine but never had. It was a delicious meal. Rightly made and seasoned to bring it a taste you would truly want to have. The portions were right. The prices were fine for what you have to select from. It is your choice. You can also make a reservation if you want to have the right place to sit when you get there. And then you to Randy. He is an expert as the Owner / Operator. He has a great idea, and an excellent team who make this happen. STIR is not a large place. It did stir things up. read more

Well, I went to the new location. The reservations are $25 per head as insensitive not to be late. I was like ok food was mediocre at best. Drinks were good, we were told there was a limit to how long we could be there to respect others reservations. However, we were seated late and felt as though we had to inhale our meals. The place looked nice. But not spectacular. A few days later on Westford friends, someone in the town posted. The owner replied. He stated he was running this restaurant like a Boston based restaurant. This is far from a Michelin restaurant. It's overpriced with time limitations. That within itself takes away the fun of going out. I'm sure they have their regulars but charging $25 a head for a missed reservation is obscene. If they are that busy they shouldn't have to do that. It is just another way to extort the customer. In the group many people agreed that it's rulers are not by stand fair, and their are other establishments that would love to have their business. The area of Westford doesn't need an over priced establishment that is just greedy for your money. There are other places you can get the same drink at half the cost thumbs down for this place. The owner even said, you want dessert or another drink go to the bar!!!!! Why would anyone do that while the bar is full. Not a nice way to get people to come back. It's very uncouth. read more

I am new to the Westford area and heard great things about Stir. I ordered the chicken parm for takeout. While ordering I was asked to select a side which I thought seemed a little strange being chicken parm wouldn't normally come with a side but I selected fries. When I got home I was a little disappointed to see there was no pasta included. I called the restaurant and was greeted with great professionalism from the hostess who was apologizing for the error. Unfortunately the call dropped which was on my end. About 5-7 minutes later I received a call back from the manager who explained they are fairly new to the online ordering and that was a mistake on their end and that he was going to fully refund the entree. I am blown away by the customer service and friendly demeanor offered by the manager and entire staff at Stir and will absolutely go back to give them my business!!!! Well, since my initial review on here I have been nothing but degraded and harassed by this business. They keep telling me that they have videos of me. I'm not to sure who is writing such horrible mean messages to me, but threatening me with posting videos and what not, I think they should really think their business model. Not only have they publicly embarrassed me, I would hope that people would take their money elsewhere to a more reputable establishment like Moonstones, Burtons, or even the 99! This business is not welcoming! It is also very small in the grand scheme of things. They present themselves as classy, but behind the drinks is trashy and rude. On Facebook the owner BEGS his friends to write positive reviews on here. There were 2 other reviews after mine and then one from his manager Caitlin that works in the front of the house. I HAVE NEVER had such an ongoing bad experience that ended in harassment and lasted for days because of a review.
