    Patiently waiting to be seen.

I now bring all 3 of my cats here as recommended to me by my local esthetician! When I first moved here she told me about this place. I was originally going to VCA because that is where I had taken the cats in Los Angeles. I was not originally aware of different cost level care places. I do have pet insurance but I noticed that the rates at VCA were already more expensive than in Los Angeles AND they were undergoing rate increases for everything. Wellness checks here are literally 50% less than at VCA and the veterinarians are very gentle and mellow. I have been really happy with the service except for one time there was a really loud vet tech who was freaking out not only my cat but also me so now I always request the gentle softer voiced cat-friendly vet techs since the other loud tech insisted that that was just how she talks. This issue has been corrected now since I always request gentle cat friendly techs. I really like that Maxfund also has an adoption center - I've never been but would love to go and the people that bring their pets to the wellness center all seem like neighborhood chill people too. Parking can be intimidating here since it is street parking only but I've always been able to park within 1 block. I also love that this place is so close to where I live so no highways or crazy traffic for my kitties!‍

If we can do the mastectomy of growth.

Standard with all adoptions from the DFL is a paid-for visit to a veterinarian.. they provided a list of clinics near me, GoodVets - GT was the closest. They got me in the next day. Monty & I arrived to the location, the staff was incredibly friendly & the good boy enjoyed several treats & pets from everyone. Unfortunately, the infection in his mouth was still present and I was told that he would need a couple of medications to finish it off as well as several vaccines. They provided several different options for Monty's vaccines at different price levels, which I greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, I didn't have the funds at the time for the medications he needed for the infection in his mouth, let alone any of the vaccinations. I went home bummed out about the fact that I couldn't get Monty what he needed. I got a call later that day from GoodVets, and they had gotten in touch with the DFL, who provides a voucher that covers up to $250 for shelter related illnesses, so it paid for the cost of Montgomery's medications. Earlier this morning, I stopped in and grabbed the meds. Thank you, GoodVets - Golden Triangle for treating & ensuring that Montgomery, got the meds he needed. I genuinely appreciated that. Pros: Location, staff is A+, but the fact that they went through the extra effort to get Monty what he needed was what made me truly happy with the place. I made myself a reminder in my notes to give an honorable mention to Alex at the front desk, who was not only very nice but also incredibly helpful in regard to scheduling as well as any questions I had. A+ communication. I had also told myself that I would mention the Vet Tech who saw Monty, however her name alludes me now.

Well, it isn't up to me is it, because I'm not a vet, haven't studied animal health and have to be able to trust your recommendations. Which i clearly can't. Look elsewhere - good thread on Denver reddit about none PE owned vets if anyone is reading this and wants recommendations for actually good vets. Sometimes you worry about having someone you don't know well super well in your home for a few days at a time, but we never had any concerns with Nick! Nick's departure from DC was devastating to me and my roommate and our dogs. The boys rebelled when Nick moved back to TX. For weeks, they went on a destructive tear on the days Nick's replacement would come by. Seriously, that never happened when Nick was our walker! They loved him AND he wore them out! Hire Nick! Nick treated Charlie like his best bud and would send me pictures of their adventures. Charlie doesn't generally get very excited but when Nick came over to pick him up for walks he'd jump up and down with joy. Nick was also very good about communicating with me. Charlie's beagle instincts would lead him to eat junk off the ground so he regulary had to go to the vet. When Charlie had health issues, Nick would ask about how his buddy was doing (even on weekends and late hours) and reassure me that he would watch over him when they were together. More recently, I had to go out of town unexpectedly for work and Nick switched his schedule around so that he could watch Charlie. He really went above and beyond to help us. I can't recommend Nick enough. Anyone would be lucky to have him care for their cherished pet.

First- 2 visits ago they had him listed as a 2 year old. He's been going there 3 years so it's not possible for him to age backwards. Plus they have his file scanned from his adoption showing his birthdate. I informed them he was 6. My most recent visit I see on his file that he is now 4. I crossed it out and changed it again back to 6. The reason this is serious to me is because they keep referencing his age when analyzing his conditions and saying blah blah "for such a young cat." But he's not 2. Or 4. He's 6. And his name also is not Oliver... I went in on a Monday and had bloodwork done. They were supposed to call the next day with results but didn't. And not the next day either. His vet had gotten sick and called out and it would've been under her specific file to call me, but given I had called inquiring I feel a different professional should've been able to at least convey the results to me more quickly. Finally, today I dropped him off at 7:45 for an ultrasound. I had been under the impression and told that it would occur between 9-12. I just called and the tech didn't even get there until after 11. Now he has to sit there for a bit longer and I had been counting down minutes to get his results. I loved this vet and I'm really sad about what's happening there. Not sure if the switched systems or something but normally they, and especially Kim, are super good at communicating and doing everything they can. Now I feel weird leaving him with them because they don't even know his name... age... when the doctor will be there...

When we had to make tough choices, such as whether to consult a specialist about Claire's cancer, Dr. Andy always explained the options thoroughly and made it clear that the choices such as radiation therapy or palliative treatment were ours to make. I would recommend Dr. Andy and his staff unconditionally.

They are impossible to contact to schedule lessons, their trainers never showed up for the group lessons, and they blatantly lied to us about the location of those lessons--one of the main reasons we signed up in the first place. Just a couple of weeks ago, we went to attend a group lesson, only to find eight other people waiting as well. The trainer never showed up, and nobody answered the phone to explain or reschedule. In fact, nobody ever answers the phone during business hours. It's beyond frustrating and completely unprofessional. We tried for an entire year to schedule lessons, attend group sessions, and call for assistance, and all we got in return was silence. It's maddening. Now, we're moving out of town and are unable to complete the lessons--not that it would matter, since they're unreachable anyway. While we managed to finish the first five levels of training, after that, everything fell apart. To make matters worse, they refused to take any responsibility for the half of the lessons they failed to deliver. When we asked for a refund for the undelivered services, they outright refused. It's shocking how blatantly they scam their customers, with zero accountability. Save your money and avoid this company at all costs. They will take your money, fail to deliver on their promises, and leave you with empty pockets and a lot of headaches. Absolutely shameful business practices.

ABUSIVE and discriminating!!!…read more I was working with this training company for my ADA service dog. I have a paid contract with them. The owner a week ago abused my dog and when I addressed it I'm no longer allowed to work with any other trainer but the owner. They've said they won't let me work with any other trainers, including the one from colorado springs, who was amazing, and not abusive. that my only option going forward was to ONLY work with the owner. Despite this physically and mentally not being possible, they will not refund or offer any other options. I believe this is a direct form of abuse, manipulation, and discrimination. In March '24 they kept my dog through their program and when returned to me he had a bad infection on his neck. He had been bitten by another dog and had infected sores on his neck resulting in an emergency vet bill. After 6-8 weeks of back and forth and promises of refunds etc. I was told nevermind. Worked with other trainers (Fallon and Syndey and Caroline) that were GREAT so continued with the program for public access training opportunities for my service dog. Earlier this month Bert, the owner, and Sarah his wife was present in a group class attendees. Took my dog and turned his stimulation collar up on full until Leo was screaming and spinning in circles and growling. I completely disassociated due to one of my needs for a service dog. Then he said "that'll teach you to listen to me". Other members of the class checked in with me and I had to have a friend drive me home as I couldn't process. When I expressed concerns to the trainer from the springs that was suggested I work with (Caroline, she was amazing) she suggested steps. The Denver group had even worked to schedule her for my final 5 classes. I'm now told she was fired. That my only option moving forward is only to work with Bert (Abuser) or Sarah. Even though I have directly expressed I'm physically and mentally unable to work with them. They have no other trainers they will let me work with our refund any of my training costs. This is not only an animal abuse situation, but a disability discrimination. I have filed the appropriate forms through resources off the ADA website, including the department of justice. The companies response is bullshit and Bert and his wife, Sarah will NEVER be allowed near my dog again. The fact the only solution they had was to force me to work with Bert or Sarah, no other trainer when I expressed triggering and animal abuse, goes to show their abuse and discrimination expands to humans as well. Unacceptable.
