Our poor 12 year old kitty, was diagnosed with a high grade sarcoma on her eyelid. After our regular vet did the biopsy and we received the histology report- it was recommended that she have her eye removed if the cancer hadn't already spread. Our regular vet doesn't do this surgery but brings in a surgeon weekly to perform specialized surgeries. Somehow we found GAV. It took a little bit to get her in, but boy are we glad that we did. Dr Christina took great care of our kitty and the surgery went well. There's instructions for after care were clear and she's checked in on her to make sure ahead is going ok. Our kitty is healing really quick and we are so happy to have found GAV. It was an affordable surgery and therefore we didn't have to think twice if we were going to have it done to save our kitty's life. While we don't know with this type of cancer if they were able to get it all or if it will come back, but the imaging at the time did not show any spread to her lungs. It's hard to tell, but we feel we've given our kitty a fighting chance for some more quality time with our family. She never once acted in pain and the medications given by the vet seems appropriate. She's eating and taking in fluids well and using the litter box. She is giving us all extra snuggles and is gaining her regular spunky self back. I know some will complain about the texting and awaiting an appointment and it's scary to wait and not know. But the staff took great care of her and treated my husband with professionalism and care when he dropped her off and picked her up. They got all the records to CSU vet oncology clinic promptly when we took her for a consultation for next steps. They were completely impressed with the progress of healing from her surgery and commented on how well the Dr. Christina handled this surgery! Having other professionals compliment Dr Christina's work was just a bonus and reassured us that she has done everything she could to help our kitty. I am so glad I found this place. My puppy, Ralphie, needed his shots and neutering. It was super simple to get an appointment online, do the paperwork online. It did take a bit to drop him off with them, but they are doing a lot as a low cost clinic and they should be given that space of understanding. My boyfriend went to pick him up when he was ready after I got the text and the whole staff loved Ralphie and didn't wanna see him go. It made me proud that he was so good and fawned over. Just dropped off my dog to get her spayed, and I am really impressed with the vet staff! My dog Rosie was very very anxious to be there. After being in the waiting room for a few minutes, a staff member came out and gave me some paperwork to fill out. After giving me the lowdown on the paperwork, she quickly comforted Rosie, and it was like Rosie immediately fell in love! And Rosie was able to calm all the way down. I made an appointment online (the only way that one can do so) and made my request for the services I needed. When I went to get my pet, they had only done some of the services. I told them about the form and I was told that one cannot use the online appointment form to ask for services! I had a very rude person named "Megan" who assured me that it was my fault because I did not follow their (secret) process. I am not sure what their process is, but it does not work to ask on the online form and it also does not work to tell the people at the front desk. I took both my Great Pyrenees puppies who just turned 1 year old to them today for neutering and they were super awesome and friendly and then the bill actually came out cheaper then expected. So because of a glitch in THEIR system they will charge me more! All I wanted was his shots!!!! I didn't raise my voice I didn't swear I just left. As a pet parent we should be able to check in on our pets at any time by calling a "front desk" or texting them! This clinic has somebody "Megan" working from home and can't provide updates on pets. I asked for an update and all I got was "if you dont hear back, please come to pick up at 4:30-4:45. -Megan." That's unacceptable to ask for a follow up on our pets! The clinic administrated nausea and pain meds without telling me! It wasn't discussed when I dropped my pup off. I thought it was take home as needed. Also the "lady" at the front desk is not patient friendly she was very rude. When I got there at 4 as they told me she didn't even talk or acknowledge I was standing at the desk for 4mins! She wouldn't give me a break down of charges until I paid! Then walking away to get somebody she slammed the door behind her. They took such good care of my cat after booking him for a surgery he needed only the day prior! They even washed his blanket I dropped him off with after he had an accident on it, which is so much more than I expected. All of the staff I spoke with were very attentive and willing to answer any questions. I'm also a fan of the "texting to contact them" system they have, because any questions or concerns I have, I can just send them right as ai think about it and they reply very fast during business hours! My dog Rhea needed an emergency surgery because she had a large foreign item stuck in her intestines. Everywhere else had quoted me thousands of dollars and I was about to put my baby down. My dog Gilly had to have an emergency surgery for bladder stone removal. I found out at 2am in the morning and I texted their number and they responded within 5 mins. They got her in, despite being short staffed. So much had happened in 12 hours and having dealt with all of this right before I was about to go to bed the night before I hadn't slept for almost 30 hrs. A lot of information without being able to process hardly any of what had all happened, I reached out because her mouth was shut so tight. They called me to check up and said that it was normal after anesthesia, but to reach out if anything else came up. They are closed on Sundays, but the vet still checks her phone for messages. This is a LOW COST vet. They do not make the money "normal" vets do, it's a CHOICE not a "lack of skill, knowledge or training". Their care goes beyond the cost. Anyone who reviews them about a "poor" attitude, please remember they are still people at their job. Who of us have had a bad day at work, or are over worked, or are underpaid? They do it because at the end of the day they truly care about our priceless family members. More expensive doesn't always mean better and there is no better care than this place in my experience. This place is amazing. i've been here due to losing a furry friend and just for the basics like a checkup. they were super sweet and gentle with my babies. we brought my grandmothers dog here who passed away a few days ago and the person helping us was very sweet. They gave us his paw print with his name on it, a beautiful wooden box urn with his ashes in it, and the box had a lovely carving design on the top and the death certificate in a sealed envelope. they took very good care of all my animals i've brought in. read more

Paid $750 to get my dog's teeth cleaned and he ended up deaf from the anesthesia. Took him in to get it checked and they wanted to charge me a follow-up fee. Really? Second, when the dr checked his ears she accidentally stuck him with the instrument and I had to put ointment in the ear until it healed. They were very nonchalant that my dog is now deaf. Joked about putting deafness as a possibility from anesthesia on their handout. He licks his lips constantly now and his anxiety is off the charts since he can't hear. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAT HERE!!! This has taken me a long time to write because I needed time to heal from the loss of my 15 year old cat. I had taken my cat into this clinic to get her lungs checked out because she was wheezing and it turns out that she needed a type of inhaler. I was incredibly nervous because my cat was a senior cat and I wanted her to have the best care but I didn't know where to begin. Keep in mind that they gave me some pills did not really educate me on what these pills would've done to my cat and when I ran out they switched it over to a liquid version of that and within two days my cat died. Fast forward I'm learning from a doctor my husband was working with that you don't stop those pills abruptly. What bothers me is that it was eight months of these pills and I never had a follow up on my cat receiving any inhaler's or anything like that and so when I called back they said that I can bring her in and then that's when they switched it over. For a whole f**** year I grieved the loss of my cat with so much guilt. And even now I'm still not fully processed all of this. read more

I would give this place a big fat zero if I could! Please do not take your pets to this vet. We took our poodle for a wellness check and the experience was awful. First of all the lobby stunk of cat pee and poop and was overall very dirty. The room they put us in had blood on the floor and was just dirty. It was like a dungeon. Our vet tech kept telling us that the doctor was running late and kept having excuses as we waited. She also did not look like she knew what she was doing. We waited and waited and waited. Our appointment was at 330 and we waited till about 515 and after two hours we decided to leave. As we left I told the front desk that we had been waiting two hours and that we were going to find a different vet. All she could say was sorry in a very uninterested tone. I brought my senior cat in for a suspected UTI. They kept her all day and didn't examine her until I got there after 4pm. I gave them a pass as I could see they were busy. They did some lab work and a UA and sent us home. Apparently her results came back the next day, unbeknownst to me, as no one called to let me know and they never mentioned that I could view the results on the client portal. Today I tried the portal just to see if anything was there, and there they were. Her labs aren't great. We figured out it was my young cat that has the UTI, but Dingo's labs are concerning (high glucose, neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes are all out of range, high protein, etc). NO ONE CALLED TO DISCUSS THIS WITH ME?!?! Would this be acceptable for a human patient? To most of us, our animals are our babies and deserve the same care and action you'd give to a person. Why be in business if you clearly don't care about the animals? Shame on this dr and shame on this practice. If you love your pet, please take them elsewhere. I took my dog here for an urgent surgery and had a good experience. I give them 4 stars because their best communication is through text which can be frustrating when you're feeling anxious. Although they are a low cost vet, cost was not what brought me to them. I was desperately trying to find a place to perform surgery and time was of the essence. They were the first that would take him without going to a veterinary hospital ER or putting him on a waiting list for an appointment to schedule surgery. I had no experience with this clinic and after reading Yelp reviews I was less than confident in my call to take my dog here. I can't say I had a completely wonderful experience but that was likely due to my lack of confidence in their abilities and an unclear phone call from what I can say was a less seasoned vet. Thankfully, a more experienced doctor called and put me at ease. Afterwards, I can look back at these reviews and say I put too much emphasis on them and didn't give this clinic the chance they were due. The surgery went well, my dog is ok and there were no complications even though they warned me of the possibility. Even after surgery they responded to my text messages and have helped me with my questions and even additional medication. I'm grateful to them for caring for my furry baby. Give this place a chance they will likely surpass your expectations. read more

I got all three of my baby girls spayed here on different days. The staff was super friendly and thorough with aftercare info even though they were very busy. I also love they do walk in vaccinations every Saturday morning (just have to fill out online form first)! My regular vet was booked out for months for my puppies vaccines, luckily I was able to get their shots done here! They were quick and efficient. I had applied for a vet visit using their online scheduling program for the end of April. The 2 dogs needed heartworm tests and i wanted them to be seen by the vet to avoid any issues with a year supply of heartworm medication. They scheduled them for tech visits. There was no reason for them to have tech visits. 1st dog had been seen in September. They would only provide 6 months of heartworm prevention as she would need to be seen again in September. This made no sense to me as it had been less than a year since being evaluated by one of their vets. Plus that was the reason I had tried to schedule vet visits to begin with.. Explanation given was that it would be the vets responsibility if I stopped being a responsible pet owner and did not continue to give my 13 and 19 year old dogs the prevention. I have always given them their prevention and now I have a 19 year old! Their only solution was that they could see the 19 year old if the next appointment didn't show up. They did nothing to resolve the issue regarding the 13 year old. I requested to speak with the manager multiple times. Did not receive any follow-up from the manager for several days and then by email. She advised she is only in the clinic a couple days a week. Then she offered to take $25 off the 13 year olds next appointment in September. Still did not resolve the issue of the 6 months short of the heartworm medication. I felt insulted to be called an potential irresponsible pet owner by the response and refusal to fill the prescription for the heartworm medication. Both myself and my husband have replied to the managers email advising how disappointed and insulted we were. That we would be searching for a different vet to see our pets in the future. The 19 year olds medication for pain needs to be refilled. I called in on Friday left the message for the refill as required and I ended up contacting them multiple times on Saturday and was told that they would call when they were ready. I also applied to have the prescription moved to chewy so that we could disconnect until time for the pets to be seen again. Tonight, Monday night at 2311, I received a message from the manager that they would not be seeing our pets further as they don't feel they are a good fit. But that they would send the prescription to Costco or chewy. My 19 year old has had to be with out her medication for 2 days so far because of their delay. And will have to be waiting for them to send the prescription. This should have been resolved weeks ago. There was no reason for us to take her to another vet when the prescription was already available here. We would have to incur extra unnecessary charges because of their failures. It is very disappointing to see how they have chosen to resolve this issue they created to begin with. read more

Great place, we had an emergency and they handled it very well. After another place was mean and horrible. This place cared for our pup and showed compassion. Very fair on prices too. No unnecessary charges. Second time we came in was to care for our older pup they explained everything and again showed compassion and care. After a month we had to make a very hard decision and they were so caring and new exactly how we felt. They helped us through the whole process and were wonderful to our family. OK for regular shots and quick check ups. My boy fell down the stairs in my home as he was over half way up them. They couldn't see him for FOUR DAYS! My dog was misdiagnosed for nasal cancer, hence his bulging eye and continual mucus running out of his nose. They claimed it was allergies and cherry eye. Not to mention an issue with his leg. I had to buy my own prescribed medication for his leg because it wasn't something they carried nor mentioned as a treatment. I never got to use that medication. I called at 430pm, bawling. My dog had a severe seizure. He has dying. I was told "I'm sorry we don't have any appointments today". I needed to walk in and they don't do that. We called Community Pet Vet on 123rd and Washington and were told to come right in. We walked in and they immediately put us in a large room where I could get him comfortable and lay on the floor with my boy. My boy died that night. And the staff was amazing. I laid there with him until he took his last breath. I can't imagine GAV doing this since they didn't care about a dog and owner who had been a patient there for years. You cannot call to schedule an appointment and when you do text because it is an urgent appointment, they will reply in an hour and a half, offer you an appointment and when you take the day off work to get your pet there, they will cancel an hour and half before they told you to come in. They do not have drop off appointments within a good time frame (12 days away). I was texted at 9:27 am that they had an appointment, I replied within minutes and said I would be there and then they cancelled at 12:28 pm. This is extremely unprofessional and impossible to address with anyone since they don't take phone calls. I have been a veterinary technician for 14 years and I have NEVER experienced this with any clinics from big to small clinics. My dog is a working dog and money is not an issue but I do not trust this clinic at all. RUN FAR AWAY! There are too many vet clinics in Denver to waste your time or money on this unprofessional one. I found this vet online when looking for a place I could take my kitty on Monday morning without an appt. She'd gotten sick over the weekend and nothing was open (I had to take her to an emergency vet on Sunday for fluids $$$). I emailed GAVC Monday morning and they got back to me before 9am. I got her in that day. The prices are much less than anywhere else in the area and all the employees were very nice and helpful! Yes, you initially have to send them a message via their website for an appt which some people aren't comfortable with. I love it, especially because they're very quick to respond. I sent my message to them at 7:45am which is before they're open and they got back to me an hr later via text and email. They said they had no appts available but I could drop her off and pick her up later in the day. I dropped her off at 10 and they were done by 3. They texted me updates regularly prior to doing any work and didn't do anything that I didn't approve. They give you the prices up front and surprisingly when I got the bill the prices were lower than I was quoted. They give discounts if your animal is spayed/neutered which is great! I felt they really care about animals and do their best to give them the care they need. I have multiple cats and I plan to switch them all to GAVC. SO glad I found them! Highly recommend! read more

Upon adopting my puppy in November 2018, I did extensive research in finding a reliable and safe veterinarian for my new family member. Ultimately, I selected (after careful consideration and a positive recommendation) Guardian Angel Veterinary Care. My puppy had a good first check up and received all her shots. I made her next regularly scheduled appointment for her spay in April 2019. In preparation for her surgery, I dropped her off at 8:30 am as directed. The drop off was rather quick, I wasn't even introduced to the veterinarian who would be doing the surgery and then was informed I would be given a call when the surgery was complete so I could plan a pick up time. At 1:30 pm, feeling uneasy after not hearing from guardian angel, I called for an update. At that time your staff member explained that her appointment wasn't actually scheduled until the afternoon. While I understand that it may be normal practice to have a pet arrive early for surgery, FIVE hours seems a bit excessive. After 3 pm, I finally received a phone call that she was out of surgery and to come get her at 4:45 pm. Please note: this is less than 2 hours of recovery time, which seems completely inconsistent with your practice especially after you observed her for 5 hours prior to the surgery. On my arrival, I was told my puppy did not like the incision to be cleaned, so your staff make the decision to leave the area bloody. I imagine being that you are a veterinary care center, that this isn't the first time you've met a puppy that hasn't enjoyed being cleaned. While I was shocked that she wasn't cleaned (regardless of her sentiment), I was extremely disappointed that no one offered to show me how to clean her incision - at the very least describe how I could clean the incision. Furthermore, with the area being bloody, how was I (not a veterinarian or vet tech) supposed to be able to identify whether or not she was healing properly. Visibly apparent that it was close to closing time, your staff did mention that if my puppy wasn't acting normal, I could take her to the emergency room after hours. Due to limited recovery time, my puppy could barely walk, let alone stand long enough to relieve herself just 2 steps outside the door. She refused to eat, even her treats. I suspect due to the tardiness of the surgery, her schedule being so thrown off, and the pain she was enduring, she couldn't stomach anything. Your staff told me I needed to give my puppy a pain pill later in the evening but instructed she take it with food or it would make her nauseous. After 24 hours of my puppy not eating, waking up and crying with pain, I could not help but blame myself for entrusting your "care center" with my puppy. I actually ended up spending hundreds of dollars at a competent veterinarian due to complications with this surgery. For other puppy parents, please do your research. read more

DO NOT take your animals here!! I've been taking my dog here for 2.5 years as his primary vet and had been taking my cats here for over 6 years. My dog was having trouble getting up from a laying down to a standing position and I was concerned about his shoulder. So first, trying to get an appointment is a nightmare, you can't call and their website is horrible so I was having to text the front desk staff. The front desk staff is always so rude for no reason. They've always been that way. When I told them what was going on their response was "I do not have any openings, so best way to try and get seen is texting every morning at 8." I asked if they could just schedule me for their next available day and they said "I do not have any openings, since we are mostly doing emergency surgeries and regular surgeries, to try and get seen best way to text us at 8 for same day exam and I can not make any promises that you will be seen." So be warned that they ONLY DO SURGERIES NOW and are a surgery center and will not provide primary veterinary care to their clients. I also had been having issues getting an appointment for vaccines because they now only offer them on Saturday at very limited times and they told me I can't schedule an appointment or a different day, so I've been having to take my dog somewhere else for his vaccines. So please do not take your animals here. You won't get seen, they are unprofessional, and it's obvious they don't care about animals. They care about money by only doing as many "emergency surgeries" as they can so they can't even help their loyal customers or animals who need primary services. read more
