Extremely rude staff, Christian in specific. Nothing more than a tourist trap. I will not recommend Maxicat to anyone!

What we really enjoyed about the whale watching trip was how much the staff clearly respected the whales and dolphins. We saw other boats mugging the animals, but our Captain kept a smart distance. When we travel we usually go whale watching and this was one of the best in terms of respect of the animals, information given and then they sent our Guides photos - for free! Thanks to Laura and the Captain for a wonderful whale watching tour. Next time we are in Tenerife we will join another trip. Insider tip - although Tenerife was wonderfully warm, at 9:30am the ocean wind was cool so bring a hat and light jacket.

You can arrange a bunch of different activities, like fishing, diving, water sking, or make up your own itinerary. The options were pretty cool. Basically you can hire them to do whatever you want. We did half and half. We did water sports and a bit of hiking in a remote part of the island that is difficult to get to by car. What was really cool, is jumping off the boat when anchored in the ocean. This is what I miss most about living in Florida... boat life! WSC were friendly, organised. I can't wait to go back to Tenerife and do it again! Next time, i want to go to a remote Canary Island! One way trip of course. he he

WOW! So impressed with the service we received from them!…read more We needed an island tour that could be done by someone in a wheelchair. It took a few days to work out details but a great tour we had with Erik our guide. We of course, wanted to see more but with the wheelchair there were only so many places we could get to. They will definitely make sure you are well taken care of. We also booked a fishing trip with them! So much fun! Highly recommend using them to plan your island tours!
Well priced but I feel that the service could be better. This place was recommended to me by…read moreseveral others as a good company for car hire, especially for those with kids as car seats are provided free of charge. The cars are parked in a nearby car park (the one for the Fañabé shopping centre that Orcar is located within) which is a few minutes walk away so I'm not surprised that I wasn't shown to the car but I did expect the car seats to be pre-fitted or at least come with some help or instructions. The seats were just sitting on the floor in the office and I was told to pick one and take it to the car myself. This was not an easy task with a pram and a nine month old with me, especially as I had 2 car seats booked. After struggling to the car (another tourist helped me down the stairs in front of the office) I had to figure out how to fit the seats, but my daughter wasn't happy to sit in her pram and watch me do this and cried to whole time! One of the seats had no instructions on it so I eventually gave up and fitted the other one for her. Both seats could be fitted rearward of forward facing, as the other one was for my 3 year old I decided to just go back to our hotel and fit that one there (as I figured that I could fit it forward facing without needing any instructions). The car was a Seat Ibiza automatic, fine to drive and spacious enough for us. It's not a big car so you might want something bigger for a larger family or more luggage. I asked about scrapes and they said it's fine as the car is fully insured for that. There were quite a few scrapes on the bumper when I picked it up. The roads nearby have zebra crossings almost everywhere so be aware of this when you set off. When we reached the hotel I was able to fit the other car seat in a few minutes, but not sure how I would have fitted it rearward facing if I had needed to do that. Here's a description of the car seats that they offer: "We only have one model of baby seat from 0 to 18 kgs (group 0,1 and 2) and child seat from 3 to 12 years old (group 3). The baby seat has two positions: one for baby 0- 9 kg, and another for 9-18 Kg" To find the office: Going south on Calle Londres, it's on the pedestrianised road to the left just after Restaurante Hawai. You need your passport or a copy of it when picking up a car, and your driving licence. To find the car park when returning: Again going south on Calle Londres, just after the road that leads to the office there's an entrance to the car park (says Público above it). I was told to park on floor 2 or 3. Don't forget to note the number of the space.
Amazing dive and snorkel company!…read more Went diving with a friend in Tenerife. For me it was the first time, so I was slightly nervous. But the dive instructor understood this and made me feel completely at ease. And their super cool people. All langues spoken. They do very well to teach you what you need. And they stick by your side in the deep to make sure you have no problems. They deflate you when you need to sink, and inflate you when you need to float up. And they take pictures of you underwater so you can take the memories. That was a bonus. The price is good as well. And if you do a dive here, then choose to do your certification within 2 weeks, you'll get a discount. Sadly I had too much work and was unable to get certified within that time. But since they have a location in Gran Canaria where I live, i'll def go back for my certification.

We just returned from the most magical vacation at the Ritz Abama in Tenerife, and honestly, five…read morestars aren't enough to describe how incredible our experience was. I don't think we've ever visited a more stunning resort. The Ritz redefines luxury and sets a new standard for what a resort should be. From the moment we arrived -- where we were welcomed by name at the gate -- we were treated like royalty. The staff go above and beyond to make you feel special every moment. It's the attention to detail: twice-daily housekeeping, swift room service and concierge responses, their own locally sourced water bottle, the car valet guys also being on top of it... the list goes on. The property is simply breathtaking. There are several pools, including an adults-only one, multiple restaurants (including a Michelin-starred option), stunning ocean views, a breakfast that outshines any hotel we've ever stayed at, and even a private beach, where guests are taken down via the hotel's cable car. Every corner of the resort exuded luxury. We mentioned we were getting married during our stay, not expecting much, but the staff went above and beyond to make our special day even better. From balloons and desserts delivered to our room to coming back from the ceremony and finding "I love you" spelled out in rose petals on our bed -- the service was on another level. Thank you, Abama staff, for making our stay unforgettable. We can't wait to return!

I was a bit concerned by the road noise mentioned but...I needn't have worried. I can only surmise that some of the previous reviewers have been very unlucky as the road noise is NOT an issue, or certainly wasn't for us in room 102. As for being overlooked by the walkway outside - again, it is NOT. There is a path that goes past the balconies, but it is below the level of the rooms and not exactly intrusive. I don't know why people were complaining about this! So picky! The complex is clean and tidy and the staff were friendly, helpful and professional. Our check-in process was smooth and quick, and actually, probably the best I've experienced anywhere in the Canaries. Our room was well-equipped, kitchen-wise - including a bottle opener and corkscrew, kettle, toaster, cooker - way more than you get most places of a similar caliber. The beds and pillows were the usual - not overly comfortable but perfectly adequate for resting your head for the evening. We hired a fan from reception as it was quite warm - at 20 euros for the week (plus 10 euros deposit), I found this very good value for money. The room was cleaned every day apart from Thursday and Sunday, towels changed every two days, as advertised on the info sheet given to us at check-in. The pool area was nice and quiet, even with the road going past over the perimeter wall - it did not intrude on the ambience whilst we were there. The pool is slightly heated - just enough to take the chill off. Lovely and refreshing at all times and well-maintained. The pool bar seemed to close very early - I only used it once to buy an ice lolly. The lady on duty was a bit grumpy to me, but fine with my partner - perhaps she just didn't like the cut of my jib! This was the only negative point about the service I encountered all week. We moved to room 202 for our late check-out which was identical to the one below we'd been in all week. Drawback of the location of this place is that it's up a fairly steep hill, so can be a bit weary to climb back up it from the beach. HOWEVER - simply turn right out of the apartments and immediate right again to go up/down a much gentler slope into Las Americas and that problem is eliminated. Vistas Beach is a 5 min walk down the hill - 2 sunbeds and a parasol costing 12 euros a day. Plenty of places to eat and drink within a short walk in either direction, too. All in all, I would recommend this place to couples looking for a quiet getaway. Room Tip: Room 102 is right by the pool!
