Suddenly my husband was admitted into the hospital for an emergency procedure. Just as suddenly he was to be discharged -- unable to do anything unassisted. No way was I having him to go a nursing home; but how was I going to get him into the car or into the house when I got home? How was I going to care for him when we got home? I called Scott. Within an hour he had everything set up. Someone would be at the hospital to transfer my husband in and out of car and to help when we got home. Can you imagine my relief??? As it turned out, my husband was held for another day and, surprisingly, was able to walk with a walker. Within a short time, however, we did need help in house. Scott has been terrific working with us and my crazy schedule. We are very happy with the care my husband is receiving and feel very fortunate that there is such high quality service available for us.

While my dad was alive, they were able to live on their own alone as they kind of had complementary health issues where together as a team they could manage on their own. Her and my dad were married over 60 years and the loss of my dad left her feeling very alone and empty inside and there were things my mom knew she could no longer manage on her own every day. I have a full time job and 3 sons, so I was not able to be there to help her out during the day with getting to appointments, making sure she is eating well, keeping the house picked up, and providing some companionship during the day, which were her initial needs. My brother and sister live out of state, but we talked and agreed that we would share in the cost of bringing in a part time caregiver for Mom. I talked to some of my friends who use caregivers for their parents and was not able to get a good reference, so I went on line and found 3 in-home care agencies in my area to interview and compare services and prices. After talking to all 3 agencies, I decided to go with Caring Companions Referral Agency. I spoke with Melissa, who is the owner, and she immediately made me feel at ease. She clearly explained the entire process to me and I liked the fact that her and her husband own and run the agency. I also found that Melissa was able to offer me the lowest rate out of the 3 agencies I called, and that was certainly a factor in my decision as well along with my brother and sister. Initially I started my Mom with 4 hours per day Monday through Friday, and then I was able to personally cover the weekends. Recently this past year however, I had to increase my Mom's hours to 8 hours per day Monday through Friday because it is getting harder and more risky for my mom to get around on her own and do some of the personal hygiene things on her own like bathing and grooming as she is now 92, but she is still as sharp as a nail! Whenever Mom's caretaker is going to be on vacation or is sick, Melissa has always been able to find a capable replacement to cover. I am very happy with the service I receive from Caring Companions Referral Agency, but most importantly my mom is happy she gets to continue to stay at home and has developed a very nice bond with her caregiver. I have recommended Caring Companions Referral Agency to a couple of my friends in the past 3 years, and they also signed up with them for Caregiving services. I owed a bill to this business, and called them to try to pay with card over the phone. A woman…read morenamed Mary answered the phone, and when I asked to speak to the owner, she rudely snapped "WHO IS THIS"?!?!? The rude way she spoke to me was totally uncalled for. There are many ways to get that info without being rude and mean about it. You can say: "With whom do I have the pleasure of speaking?", for example. Or: "May I tell her who is calling?" Anything but for the nasty way she spoke to me! And, when I spoke to Deanna [the owner] about it, instead of apologizing to me for the rudeness, she defended Mary, and basically said that they get so many phone calls that they get tired of answering the phone! REALLY??? So, I guess that they have all the business they can reasonably handle. In my mind the only reason to be so rude is if you have something to hide. That is what I took away from the experience. That this business has something they are trying to hide. I'll never use this service again. And, I certainly would never trust an elder in their care.

She had been attempting to stop the bleeding on her own without success. For approximately the past five weeks, Bridge Home Health & Hospice has been responsible for providing wound care services for my mother. During this time, the nurse has generally visited once per week. Throughout May 10, 2026, we repeatedly attempted to contact Bridge Home Health regarding the wound emergency but were unable to reach any on-call staff. Calls were not answered, and no return calls were received. Despite advertising compassionate, reliable, and supportive care services, there appeared to be no accessible emergency support available that day. This lack of response is deeply concerning and appears unacceptable for a Home Health company entrusted with patient wound care and ongoing medical support. Their published materials state that they are committed to providing patients with the care, comfort, convenience, and treatment they deserve, yet in this urgent situation, no assistance or guidance was available and they never communicated.

Araceli required a two week "up front" retainer so she could secure employee's for our care needs. The retainer fee was over $15,000.00. We did this in good faith, plus her agreement indicated that 30 days after termination we would get our retainer back. Her services were terminated on April 17th, 2023. Araceli's company was paid a 30 notice, when we terminated her services. Per her contract agreement, the retainer should have been paid within 30 days. There have been several conversation's requesting repayment and we still have not received the payment. It's my opinion if you are required to pay an "up front retainer" you may never get it back.

The house I was in we were shoved in little rooms with multipul people on cots that had huge urine marks from previous clients. Ten women shared one bathroom as the bathroom downstairs was broken with poop in it! The bugs were the worst thing though. They were everywhere! I was bitten up so bad I needed medical attention after transferring out of there, plus they charge you 1200 a month to live there! We closed the windows but since they refused to turn the air on at night we had to open the windows which had torn up screens, hence the bug bites! On top of this they don't take clients to any meetings, grocery shopping, doctor's appointments, or even to the pharmacy to get their meds. They have one van for everyone so even though groups start at nine you are picked up at 7:30 and when the groups are over at 4:00, you dont get home until well after 5:00 and Mondays and Wednesday they take people to the gym so everyone has to go, then it's seven or eight oclock. The lunch they cater in for PHP clients is just awful. They spare every expense here and it is obvious they are only doing this for the money. I have stayed and worked at centers and have never experienced such calous attitudes and such horrible conditions. I am currently in the process of reporting them to the health department. All ua's are unsupervised so anyone could pass one with someone elses urine or synthetic urine. This place only cares about the money, they don't care about human beings! Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else if you are serious about your recovery!

I also had issues with my therapist as I saw him one time. I was very disappointed that they knew at least a day before I did of my exit date. They should have communicated this to their peers to relay the message to me so I had more preparation. I gave this place 4 stars all because Katrina, Shae and the entire nursing staff.
