Due to health issues we determined it was time for Mom to live in a safer, more socially interactive environment. At Cogir she enjoys a new, safe & secure, beautifully designed, well-lit environment. Each day she receives three restaurant styled, beautifully presented choice of meals served in Cogir's dining room with the other residents. After meals there are a variety of creative daily activities to engage her if she chooses. However sometimes Mom enjoys a fireside chat with her new friends, especially if they have a little dog with them! A small but joyful thing for us, is our family enjoys visiting with the grand kids and playing pool with Mom in the well stocked activity room. Yes, it's a modified version of the game, but hey. Still making sweet memories with her! The best part of being at Cogir is the kind & caring staff, from the Executive Director all the way to the folks who clean the rooms, every person has been so helpful & kind. Our love one( my mother in law) has gone from great condition to worse condition in their memory care system. If you have a love one who's diabetic, this is not the place for you. Not at all. There is no special diabetic diet and your love one could literally die from a high sugar diet because they aren't equipped to monitor a diabetic love one and our love one A1C is hitting over 14.6. If we don't get her out of there she will surely die is what our doctor has told us. It's also hard getting any information out of anyone there. They always seem to pass the buck and the management gets offended and mouthy when you ask questions! I wouldn't recommend this place. I don't care how nice a place looks if it's run incorrectly. The numbers of clients remains low and my mother in law was one of the first clients there and the population has never increased. Buyers beware!

My over riding reason was because Matt went the distance to meet with my Mom and I and spend time describing his business, service and experience and his personal history. He also spent time to bring his care provider in for an interview. All of the information he gave and his actions checked out. SHS Escondido walks the talk. Matt and his team are caring, compassionate, responsible, dedicated, flexible and go well beyond the terms of service to insure my Mom and our family are comfortable and confident. My Mom wants to take her care provider with her when she moves to assisted living. I cant say enough about how pleased we are with SHS Escondido.

Innovative was a wonderful company once upon a time, but sadly it has spiraled downhill quickly…read moresince late 2016 when the founding owner retired and a new owner took over. The prior owner was an RN, CCM, etc., but the new owner appears to have no nursing or care management background. I have had numerous negative experiences with this new owner. I will say the caregivers have been great... but other agencies also have great caregivers, without the nonsense at the owner/business level. This new owner of Innovative seems to be all about "business" and the bottom line. Anytime I've questioned her on something (rate change, etc.), she makes comments related to how she is "running a business". My strong recommendation would be to interview at least three care agencies, and review all three of their contracts so you can see how the terms compare (not just the hourly rate, but what is the late payment policy, the termination clause, the buy-out fee, etc.) I know it's extra work, during what is usually a stressful and/or emotional time, but it is so worth it to take the time and energy to compare several companies. If you've never hired a care agency before, you won't know what's "usual" or "customary" unless you compare several. Also ask for referrals - it's especially great if the agency can give you "professional fiduciary" referrals, as these are people who routinely manage the affairs for elderly/disabled and thus will have a far more broad experience with various care agencies than a single-family client who has experience with only the one agency. Certainly Innovative could be among those that you consider, but proceed with caution, and shop around. These care agencies are NOT all created equal!

Do not speak to Nita who run this place, in fact avoid Innovative Healthcare in Fallbrook. I was suppose to have a nurse coming g to my house after my surgery and she sent someone with no experience and slept throughout the time I needed help. If she wasn't sleeping, she was on her phone, never once did she help me, I asked her to leave my house and she wouldn't. I'm appalled by how companies as this one is in business. Hope my review will help anyone who takes the time to read the reviews. Just awful!
