Absolutely terrible experience at Maxim Honda. We walked into the dealership and were never even greeted by staff. After finally speaking with someone, we agreed on an out-the-door price for the bikes. Later that same day when we came back to finalize everything, they suddenly changed the price and tried to charge more than what was originally agreed on. To make things worse, we were told the bikes would be fully built and ready when we returned, but when we got there they still weren't even prepared. After trying to calmly talk to the salesman about the situation and asking to speak with a manager, the salesman became extremely unprofessional, started cussing at us, and told us to leave the store. Completely unacceptable customer service and very disappointing experience overall. I would not recommend doing business here if you expect honesty, professionalism, or respect. read more

The sales staff was helpful and reasonably knowledgeable. Since the sale, they have been helpful as I work to sort out other interests. Bonus points there and ones I do not give lightly. Finance should work on knowing their product range better and quit being so pushy things NOT what the customer asked for. Hardly unique so - no surprises there. It's so common today I don't even hold it against them. The service staff is not pro-active. Their shop missed an obvious (tho non critical) item, and I felt like they blew it off as a triviality. I won't be back for service or warranty work. I would consider buying again if the deal was right. I don't say that lightly. read more

We purchased a 2024 CFMoto UForce 1000 in December, largely because the salesman emphasized its 2-year warranty (compared to Honda's 1-year). That warranty was a big selling point for us. Unfortunately, the experience hasn't lived up to the pitch. At just 307 miles and 24 hours of use, we brought it in for its first recommended service--plus some issues: it wouldn't start consistently, didn't stay running, and had a serious lag when shifting gears. A week later, we were told the starter, battery, and belt were all bad. Only the belt wasn't covered under warranty. The cost? $1,200 for the "first service" and $600-$700 to replace the belt (which, according to them, was a "crappy belt" from the factory). Fast-forward to April 10th--we get the call it's ready, and they hand us a bill for $2,069.38. Over $2k. For a machine with just over 300 miles. Here's the problem: we bought this machine expecting reliability and reasonable upkeep. Instead, we got vague explanations, unexpected costs, and a 20-hour labor bill for a first service. Why recommend a machine that comes with known subpar parts? Why not explain the real cost of maintaining these units upfront? We even asked if first service was included--like many auto dealerships do--and were told no. Now we understand why. Would we buy a CFMoto again? Probably not. Would we recommend this dealership? Definitely not without full transparency and a clearer understanding of what "warranty" actually covers. read more

I just left list dealership. I have a dealer account for a small business at me and my father run. We were originally told just to call them and order up parts, and they would help us with part numbers. While they recently changed it up on us and told us we have to supply our own part numbers. We did that eln, it ended up being the wrong heart still, so we had them look up the part number and order a part for us. But they didn't inform us that, in order to install this part. You had to buy another $200 with the parts and get this part installed in context. Part is a CV axle. Apparently, when you have to buy it, you have to buy a whole new insert that goes into the transfer case. Well, we were going off of the company. Website and off the receipts, where it tells us. We have 25 days to return parts. We are now informed that since it was a special order. And the box was open that they cannot return the parts themselves.So they're sticking us with the part and telling us we have to figure it out on our end. I'm sorry, but with all the dealerships that I have done business with. They have never had a policy where if a package is open that they cannot return it. From what they have posted online and on their very own receipts. Is that you are subject to a 25% restocking Fe? Well, apparently, we are not allowed to return our parts anymore. And that we are stuck with them, if you open app the packaging with policies like this, you would figure that you would be told about it when you open app an account or it would be posted on a sign or on the receipts itself. But unfortunately, they're throwing this on us last minute. Personally, I don't think I'll ever be returning to the stealership because they never have any parts on hand that you would need even for brand new bikes. And honestly, with the lack of service and professionalism with these people. I am surprised this business is still open if I could. I would give this a 0 sor review instead of one. I am highly disappointed in this dealership.After going there for years and kept on dealing with these problems. read more

Service department is totally incompetent. My friends Wave Runner has 13 hrs and would not start. Purchased new with an extended warranty. Took it in for service. Service manager said the engine had water in it from a broken head gasket. Refused to honor warranty after telling my friend you shouldn't have tried to start it. Hmm, Wave Runner won't start, next step is attempt to start it. Blown head gasket let's water into engine. How is this an operator error and not covered under warranty. He bought two from this place and will do business with the competition going forward. Don't spend your money here as they don't honor the extended warranty. read more

My bike (Yamaha) was showing error messages on the dash and I sent it in to these guys so they could run a diagnostic test. Was told that because my ECU is flashed, it is causing difficulties and the diagnostic can't be done. I hunted down a stock ECU, gave it to them, and they told me that they are still having issues and they were contacting the Yamaha tech line for help. They held on to my bike for over a month, I paid them for the diagnostic (which again told me nothing), got fed up and asked for my bike back, and they brought it out to me to take home with the front end disassembled, and they broke a bolt off one of my mirrors (which they claimed was not them.) I ended up solving the problem myself by literally unplugging the ABS module, which I mentioned to them very well could be the issue. I read a lot of negative reviews regarding the service department, and I should have listened. Waste of time and money read more

Maxim used to be a clean well run dealership. Today it is dirty, broken bathroom and way to laid back... It is in need of a GM that can clean up all areas. The owner is a nice guy but needs someone to run day to day and reenergize the organization. There are a few good people there but I believe there is room for some new blood. Austin, the service manager lied about replacing kickstand switch. The worst part of this situation is now I don't have a service department at Maxim that I can bring my bikes in to service. All I wanted was a 600 mile service. What I got back was a 600 mile service and a compromised kick stand switch. I brought my Honda Trail 125 in for a 600 mile service which includes an oil change and a clutch adjustment among other checks. I rode my bike home and pushed the kick stand down but that didn't kill the engine as it usually does. Upon inspection I noticed the kick stand switch was covered in oil. I contacted them and initially Austin was very responsive and asked that I bring in. I texted back asking if they have that switch in stock because I didn't want to come in, waste a trip and they not have it to replace it out. I didn't get a response for several days. After calling and talking to Austin he said he would get one ordered and that they get back to me when it gets in. Didn't hear anything for a few days on any kind of status. After coming in and talking to Austin in person, he said it would take a week since it had to be ordered from Japan. I called a week later and Austin said it was in and to bring it in and they will swap it out. I brought it in to have the kickstand replaced. After the service was completed, I looked down at the switch and noticed that it was the same switch but was just cleaned off. I told Austin that they didn't replace the switch and Austin got offended and that I leave because I was questioning their integrity. I asked that they show me the old switch. He said that he did not want to go down that road and that I just leave. I said again I want to see the old switch. He then said that he didn't have it and that he lied about having a new switch and replacing the old one. I asked that I talk to his manager. Minnis, the manager came out and said he would get the new switch overnighted to me. Minnis said he would have a talk with Austin but was shaken at the moment. I looked closely after the service to make sure that it was replaced because I felt through out the dealings with service that I was being blown off. I didn't want a kickstand switch that had oil in it that was compromised and would only intermittently work. Its a safety feature. I wanted it replaced because from what I can tell, it can't be taken apart to be repaired. If it was, they didn't tell me that it can be taken apart, cleaned and put back together to function as original. I got the new switch pretty quick from Minnis afterwards. But I did not get after seeing Minnis again was any confidence from him or anyone that I would ever be welcomed back to get my bikes worked on. read more

I'm a long term customer of Maxim Honda even before when it was Central Yamaha. The team is knowledgeable, friendly, and beyond fair with every deal. I appreciate the owner Jason. He says hello, asks questions, and helps out all the time. The staff have been great and there are many long time employees. They are great. You may be happy now but if you try and get service you will be sadly disappointed! My son16 yrs at the time bought his first bike there and had to have a complete motor after only 30hrs. They gave him a quote of 3,000.00 to repair it. Not having the money he borrowed it to pay them. they gave him the run around then after 3months called him with a new quote of 5,500.00 saying they misdiagnosed the problem. He paid 10,721.00 Not having the funds to repair it he told them he could not afford to repair it and he would be there to pick up the bike. I spoke to the owner Jason several times and he was on a long vacation to Hawaii or some other exotic destination promising he would take care of it when he got back. Never any help! When my son arrived to pick up his bike the parts were thrown in a box not marked and a charge of aprox 600.00 for the teardown and another 600.00 for a parts restocking charge. Not exactly what you would expect from a reputable dealership! If you have trouble look me up and let's talk. P.S. keep all your correspondence's because you will probably need them. read more

BUYER BEWARE! Horrible experience. I should have read the other reviews first. They bent my rim and then tried to extort me to buy a new rim. I told them I would buy a tire from them if they fixed what they had done or I would report them to the Better Business Bureau, their choice. They fixed it but it cost me a lot of time and aggravation, not to mention $335 for what should have been a $35 tire change. Read their other reviews, it's a pattern here. I've been coming to Maxim for about 5 years and have always had great experience with Sales, Service, and Parts. With a management change I was a bit nervous about how my experience might change. I can say it did change and I think it got better! I'd like to give a special call out to Josh in Parts for his awesome customer service skills and knowledge. I could not recommend anyone better. I'd also like to call out Storm in Service who has been more than accomodating meeting my requests. Super cool guy! One last call out to Robert who did an ourstanding install of my saddlebags, rack, etc. and he took the time for a walkthrough to explain how it all works. Update- this place still sucks! Gonna send my x-wife here; hopefully they'll give her the same level of service they gave me. I had front and rear tires replaced on my bike here. When I pick the bike up it was wobbling noticeably. I brought the bike back to them and they told me it was probably just my air pressure. My front tire was at 45 psi and it should've been around 36. So why did they inflate it so highly when they put it on?  I ended up taking my bike to another dealership only to find the spokes were loose on the rear and causing the wobbling. Shouldn't that be something that was checked when these outta control donkeys changed the tires? And why wasn't this checked when I brought the bike back? I'd rather stick a golf tee into my belly button and hit it with a ball peen hammer ten times than go back to this place. read more

This was my first time dealing with Maxim & they did not disappoint. I was searching for a Tenere 700 & stumbled upon these guys. Randy DesCamp informed me that while there were none in stock another T7 was scheduled to arrive in May. He quickly gave me the OTD price & told me that I could secure the bike with a minimal deposit. Craig in finance then called & secured the deposit. Randy called on 5/6 to tell me that my T7 was being readied for pickup. These two guys made the whole process very smooth & without any BS. If you want a live person you have to connect into sales. Ask for service and they transfer you to voicemail that goes unanswered and not returned. I don't like being lied to. I work in retail. I understand how businesses operate, as well as how purchasing, reselling, and service tie in together. When a dealer says that they are selling something at MSRP, and that they don't have wiggle room [$4,200 OTD, and was offered $50 off (less than 1.1%)], I know they are lying. I know they worry about their commission, but TO QUOTE THEIR EMPLOYEE (said within earshot of the 4 person group I was in) "4 wolves hunting on 1 acre means there's a lot of meat," I find it a hard pill to swallow. After I was told that there was no wiggle room, we showed the sales manager a group posting on FaceBook of a Grom group and people bought theirs for as low as $3,400 OTD up to $3,600 OTD, his response was "Well, I don't know how they are doing it. We only make $125 (lie) on the bike." I feel very confident claiming I was lied to about their profit margin because A) Nobody discloses that info to strangers, and B) It is HIGHLY unlikely that his margin is only 3.9% of MSRP. Just sayin', his math doesn't make any sense. Granted, when I go shopping, having the knowledge that I do and the understanding of the businesses, I usually keep my mouth shut and listen. I don't buy for the cheapest price, I buy from a person that I can trust. Follow-up:after leaving and going to Al Lamb's Honda (5 Star), 3.5 Hours later, I get a phone call from the sales guy that was helping us, and they decided that NOW there is enough wiggle room and they could sell it. Apparently there was "a tiff between the GM and the sales manager" and they now wanted to discount it. Needless to say, I went to Al Lamb's, told them what happened, showed them the FaceBook posts (which now had people saying they had a positive experience at Maxim...go figure) and within 4 minutes we had started paperwork for my '17 Grom. I will not be returning to Maxim unless I am under duress. read more

I had my 2021 Yamaha MT-09 600 mile service performed at Maxim and they did a great job. Billy in service took great care of me and the tech did an excellent job. I am very particular about my bikes so I was beyond pleased to get it back cleaner than it was when I took it in. I feel like this level of service should be expected but is rarely delivered. I've purchased two motorcycles from Maxim. The first was a Wr450F SM. I've had it for about a year and a 4 months now. The second was a Honda grom a few weeks ago. The purchasing process was incredibly easy and pleasant both times. It doesn't take long at all for the entire process to be done. The salesmen definitely know what they're doing and what they're selling. While you wait there is plenty to look at like other bikes or atvs and a good gear selection. The service staff is one of the main reasons I keep coming back to Maxim. They are incredibly helpful and make you feel like you're part of the family every time you step in. Another key part of my Maxim experiences is purchasing parts at the parts counter. I don't think I've ever wanted to have to buy parts until now. Thanks to Kaitlyn for being easy on the eyes. Even if you get one of the other parts professionals you're parts buying experience will be second to none! A major thing that impressed me was that they convert bikes to street legal supermotos. I don't know any other dealership that does this to non supermoto bikes which is finally getting big in the U.S. Ive been coming to Maxim since they opened years ago and haven't been let down yet! I purchased my Yamaha back in 2006 from Central Yamaha, but would do my servicing at the Richardson Yamaha or Maxim. The service department at Maxim is outstanding and Bob in the merchandise department is considered the "Mayor" of Maxim. I go there sometime to chat with Bob and get the latest scoop on everything. The customer service at Maxim was better then that of Central Yamaha, so it's my hope that Maxim will maintain that level of service. Maxim does plenty for the community and is serious about the charities they support. The Monthly rides are also a great part of the social atmosphere that Maxim provides for his customers, and brings together riders of all levels, expertise, experience, and types. read more

My 13 year old original tank had a few spots of rust in it. Maxim convinced me to replace it with a brand new one for $1000. Now, just over a year later the new one, supposedly OEM Honda is completely rusted through. I've owned many Honda motorcycles and never had any rust issues in the tank even 15 years after production. I'm pretty convinced they sold me a cheap aftermarket tank for the price of an OEM tank. Horrible service. Never ran into mechanics or service/sales advisors in Austin that couldn't care less about my ride or my safety. Guess that's Dallas for ya... Greeeedy read more

Stopped by Maxim earlier this morning to check out the new CBR500Rs, one was in stock and I had several questions. I worked with Jef and he took the time to answer each and every question throughly as well as introduced me to the parts service and accessories folks. Everyone was very friendly and quite knowledgable - even with questions I'm sure they have heard a million times (not to mention I'm new to all this still). The sales process went very well, no pressure and no surprises in the finance office either. Once the bike was squared away I purchased several hundred dollars worth of protective gear (helmets, gloves, etc) and the accessories folks spent considerable amount of time ensuring that this new rider had the proper fitting clothes and gear that complimented the bike. The entire process couldn't have been made any easier, I really feel I received the respect and time that I deserved - and as a new rider that means everything. Way to go Maxim! read more

Got quote for Pilot Power 2CT $215 alone and another $85 to install ($110 if bring outside tire) for out door before taxes ~$300. Good thing a new shop called "Motor Bike Works" opened up near by charging $142 for same tire and $67 install. I put a $500 deposit on a Honda VTX 1800 with Brooke in finance which Cody the supposed salesman said gave me the option to buy for one week. The next business day Brooke asked me asking when I'm coming for the bike because they had other interested buyers. I said you refused my trade so I need time to get different finances, I have one week to do this. It turns out that Cody and Brooke sold the bike knowing full well I still had the option on it. I went there money in hand to finish the sale it was sold. When I questioned Cody in person his lies to explain it away we're pathetic. Then to get me to leave he said another lie that another one much better would be coming that week. Of course never heard from him again. Brooke had designs to keep my $500 deposit, it took several efforts before she gave up and refunded it. Do not do business with these people! They tell you how they are family owned to instill trust but let me assure you it's more of a criminal organization than a family business. read more

Bought two wave runners. Wife took one in because it was not running. Diagnosis over phone was battery. I asked her to have them change the oil and spark plugs while it was there. $530 what is the bill. Ridiculous. Not to mention they told her it would be two hours and so she left and came back two hours later and they hadn't even started. This is less than an hours worth of work. Live in learn. Get your service done elsewhere. I will be buying my replacement watercraft elsewhere too. . read more

Service technicians are either negligent, malicious or both. Took my Shadow for a simple oil change. Had about 2700 miles on it. No issues with the bike at all. After the oil change I noticed a small drop of oil on the ground about every two days. Took it it back to have them look it over. They said to clean the bike and monitor it. Could just be a little spillage. After another week it was still dripping. Took it back to have them look in to it. This time they said it must be an 'O' ring issue. They had the bike for 6 hrs. Said they replaced and because I was patient they wouldn't charge. Sounds a little fishy. Now the bike is leaking oil like a sieve. Puddling on a daily basis. Can't ride it back in because it may damage the engine. Will probably have get it towed. How does a simple oil change turn in to a major oil leak? I'm sure their technicians will find the problem and make it worse. read more
