While this Planet Fitness is a bit smaller than some of the other Planet Fitnesses that I have visited in Maryland, it has everything that one would need. Then again, I only used the treadmill and stretching area during my visit. So, in a way, this location did have everything that I needed. ;) I thought the gym was pretty clean and had a nice layout. Unlike many Planet Fitnesses in my area, the locker room was pretty well-maintained, but I wish that it was not so dark. But, you cannot win them all. Unfortunately, this Planet Fitness does not provide soap for the showers, so I'm glad that I brought my own. All in all, I have no problem returning to this Planet Fitness for my Ft. Meade excursions.

The facility is massive -- it almost feels like a mall. There's a cafe, indoor pool, plenty of fitness areas, and spacious locker rooms. Everything felt very clean here which is a plus. The Sunday 10:45am vinyasa class was advertised as "medium heat" but it barely felt heated. The instructor wasn't my favorite and the flow felt clunky and disorganized. Her queueing wasn't very clear and if I were a newbie yogi, I'd be pretty confused. Most of the class was spent in child's pose or savasana and I would've preferred more time to flow and play. The studio itself is fairly small for the size of the rest of the gym. As a guest recently, I had to download the app in order to get my guest pass which was pretty annoying. I've never seen another gym do that and didn't appreciate the extra hoops to jump through. Overall, if this gym was closer and less expensive I'd consider it but for now, I appreciate the chance to be a guest here.

It feels like all the money goes to extras like the sitting areas, pickleball courts, classes that cost additional money, etc. The only gym area is the second floor, and even that is taken up by classes. Machines are often broken and dirty, kids are CONSTANTLY running around unsupervised and playing on the equipment, and the gym etiquette has taken a severe hit. You see people filming, reading up multiple machines, sitting for an hour while scrolling, and not putting things back. I had to change my workout so many times because the free weights were missing entire bands of weights. Again, the staff is incredibly kind and nice. But the gym does not deserve the almost $200 a month price point. I would pay $40.

I was BLOWN AWAY!!! Upon entering this 24/7 gym (another awesome perk!), I was immediately greeted with a huge smile and HELLO by one of the owners. He introduced himself and pointed to his co-owner wife, Florence, who was working out. I waved to her as I toured the gym. I felt at home immediately!! They were so welcoming, friendly and super helpful! This "true gym" has everything you need from cardio equipment to the real deal tools to build your body for personal satisfaction or if you're competing. There is wide variety of weights to build muscle whether you occasionally workout or are a serious body builder. They even have a POSE room! If you're within 30-45 mins of this gym, this is the place for you. I was thoroughly impressed. They also have inspirational quotes on the walls to keep you motivated! EXCELLENCE!

I prefer the group and spin classes but this gym also has basketball courts, a dry sauna, full swimming, kids corner, pool and jacuzzi. This year the gym underwent a partial renovation. The old dark carpet was swapped out for hard surface, non-slip flooring. There are also floor carpets in areas where that foam puzzle floor sat before. Old machines were replaced by new floor machines and different exercise products. The floor layout was changed as well. Now there is a turf-style section for stretching, resistance training, kettlebells and the like. And there is a section is separated for personal training. I'm glad they are investing money into the aesthetics and function of the gym. I've watched other gyms deteriorate into oblivion. We could still use a modern facelift and new spin bikes, but this is a awesome start.

I give any and all businesses the benefit of the doubt, even when they do me wrong. Odenton Fitness was my go to gym. I loved it here and loved the people. About a year or so ago I had gotten laid off from work. With my savings being my only source to keep my lights on, a roof over my head, and food in my refrigerator, I reached out to, what I thought was a gym focused on community and informed them of my situation and that I had to put my membership on hold. What I was told was, this is a 12 month contract and it needed to be honored. I absolutely get that, but what you're suggesting was that I opt to pay a gym bill instead of my essential bills? I didn't respect that. Then, I get a letter in the mail a few months later, from a lawyer and a bill of close to $300, with them threatening to sue. So they added monthly payments even tho my keycard was no longer active and I wasn't able to attend. Lol. All because I had misfortune of being laid off. Well the bill is paid Odenton Fitness. And I know you probably don't care, but you lost a pretty active member of your community that brought your business more business as 5 of my friends joined off of the strength of me. And I have been rehired. For about a year now. But I will never visit a facility that treats people in a time of need the way I was treated. I wish Yelp allowed me to give you zero stars.

I also decided to hire a personal trainer, and Patrick has really helped me with my goals. He's very professional and knowledgable, which makes me feel safe at age 63, and for the first time in my gym experience, I actually know how to use the equipment correctly and am seeing results. This gym has new equipment and is open 24 hours a day. You can't beat that. As for the people who work there, they're the best. Whitney works the desk and is very approachable and always has a kind word to say, and James is always friendly and kind as well. He went over and above and helped me find my water bottle, which was very nice.This gym does not make me feel like a number, and it's something I look forward to every week. Highly recommended!
