The entire project was completed quickly, efficiently, and professionally, without sacrificing quality. Their communication was outstanding from beginning to end. Everyone--from the office staff and project managers to the crew working on the roof--was attentive, responsive, and accommodating to our needs. They kept us informed throughout the process and made sure everything went smoothly. The completed roof passed inspection with the City of Monterey Park, and I am extremely pleased with both the workmanship and the overall experience. So Cal Roofing is an excellent company, and I would highly recommend them to anyone needing roofing work.

The pricing was very competitive, and the speed in which they communicate is so nice. Installation was quick and painless. But really what stands out is all the little things they did. Before they started, they took a lot of care to cover things around the house and the garage. Our project manager Mike was so communicative during the process. After they were finished they cleaned up as if they were never here. And there are a bunch of little details like matching the paint on both sides of fascia that was replaced, or matching color around our chimney to the new roof color really set things apart for me. I would highly recommend working with SoCal Roofing.

Work we wanted done: New roof and Solar installation. 1000 sqft home with 12 panels. When we started the process: August 15th Cost: 65k Why we chose them: They are not the best priced but we felt like their service level would be better than a huge national company. We were very wrong. Also they were certified platinum through the roofing company and solar we wanted. What has gone wrong in a nutshell: We felt very forgotten and gaslit throughout this process. We were told and notified things were submitted when they weren't. They blamed the city on getting permits on time but in reality the permits were approved weeks before they came out. The process wasn't given to us on how things were going to happen and in what steps, we got different answers every time we asked about this. Then when we follow up we get told that we still have time etc etc. Even when we have people scheduled to come do the install the workers didn't show up, they didn't even know until we called, then said a delivery should have happened the day before. Again, not keeping us in the loop. I would have assumed that through all the hoops we had to jump through they would have given us more TLC, nope. Not at all. Nick Messenger said he was going to personally help me project manage this, but I haven't heard back from him after he made that comment. Not through text not through call. And every time we do talk on a call it's because whatever was happening blew over and he would assume that I'm happy now. So all in all this is just another really good sales team. I highly suggest not going with them and finding a cheaper place that might be a national company of sorts so that you have more protection and better pricing. Anywho feel free to DM me if you want proof and details. I attached some of the communication I have had with them too.

He was extremely thorough and truly left no stone unturned. He found issues that other inspectors could have easily overlooked, and those findings ended up helping me secure a sizable credit from the seller during negotiations. That alone made the inspection worth every penny. We did the full home inspection, main sewer line camera inspection, and mold inspection. Everything was handled professionally, and all reports, photos, and follow-up information were returned quickly and in a very timely manner, which was huge since real estate timelines move fast. He also explained everything clearly and made the process feel a lot less stressful. He was referred to me by someone I trust, and now I understand why. I'll definitely be recommending Brandon and Unique Home Inspections to friends, family, and anyone buying a home. The associate who first came to assess our roof and give us a quote was super informative and respectful. There was no "hard sell" and he patiently answered all of our questions even though we were in the middle of other renovations and told him we wouldn't be making any decisions that day. He said "no problem" and sent us the quote to look over. Two months later we booked the job and were thrilled with the results. The whole process was easy and exactly what you'd expect from a good roofing company. They showed up exactly when they said they would, did a wonderful job and cleaned up before they left. Four years later our gutters started to leak. Mind you, this company sub-contracts out the gutter installation, so it technically wasn't their mistake. Specialist Roofing & Repair sent out a supervisor and fixed the issue-- no charge, no delay. All under warranty. They are a WONDERFUL company that does a great job and treats their customers with respect. Cannot recommend them highly enough.

I read enough horror stories online about 8 month projects or installers going bankrupt that I needed to make sure my installer will be in business when something goes wrong. Ameco seems to have a good reputation and has been around for 44 years. Plus, our sales agent Rudy was the most responsive and frank of the 6-7 i talked to. Some sales teams tried to strongarm us into a more expensive package with fear mongering or claims of knowing more about the industry. Other companies' (including one i was seriously considering) sales seemed to be sweeping details about the contract under the rug, which gave me a bad vibe. AMECO was not the cheapest, but below average. There were two things that shocked me though, but didn't end up impacting my installation: 1) AMECO is owned by NRG (one of the other companies we were considering, which DID have the lowest price but also some negative reviews) 2) AMECO doesn't actually use its own in house crew as suggested by sales in north bay, but uses contractors. I was a bit pissed about this when I found out since I was specifically looking for installers with in house teams, but the guys they brought in were consistent each time and did a decent job and communicated pretty well with headquarters so I gave them a pass. The installation process: We were assigned a project manager called Ivan. I have to say Ivan was stellar. Prompt in his communications, knew all the details, was on top of my questions before I even asked them, proactively provided updates, chased down issues for me on a moment's notice. He always picked up when I called, always texted back promptly. Every step of the process I felt informed, in control, and understood all the current issues we needed to chase down. Even though the installers weren't in house, he kept a tight leash. The installation itself was blazing fast. I had budgeted 3 months for the signing to installation at least, but they finished it in roughly two including permitting, engineering - maybe because it's not peak season? It was so fast I wasn't even mentally prepared when we cut over to solar power. The installers that came were knowledgeable, good workmanship, showed up a few hours before the inspection and physically walked through every component to ensure it was done right. Passed inspections the first time. I had no complaints. The followup issue: Our system shut down a week after it installed. Our power provider gave us permission to export energy, i turned on the feature in the device and it died. I was freaking out since I wasn't sure who to call or whether Ameco would still care since they'd technically finished the installation. Called Ivan who scheduled to have a tech come out in a couple hours (though it was later rescheduled to the next day). Turned out my system was faulty and had to be replaced by Tesla. Again Ivan communicated expectations clearly to me about how long it'll take for the part to arrive, when the team would come out to install it. Turned out his plan was pretty accurate (off by 1 day since the part didn't arrive on time) and I had a functional system 4 hours after Tesla delivered the replacement part. There was also a billing question I had (because I didn't read the invoice), which they responded pretty promptly and cleared my confusion in 4 hours. Overall, the service I received was great. Every step I knew exactly when the next milestone was, how it was going to be done and what I needed to do. I was never left hanging and I felt Ameco had done its best to ensure my system was installed the right way. Time will tell how the workmanship holds up, but so far so good. Aside from the original dissatisfaction about not having in house teams, there was nothing to complain about. I think if you get a project manager like Ivan on your installation, you'll be in good hands.

I'm currently in the middle of my solar installation process, and while I'm still glad I decided to…read morego solar, the experience getting there has been frustrating. The biggest issue, by far, has been communication, specifically with Stan, who was my main point of contact. He was extremely unreliable and difficult to reach. Texts and calls weren't just delayed, they were ignored for weeks at a time. There was no consistency, no follow-through, and no real accountability. I was given the wrong inspection date, which caused us to miss it while out of town and forced a reschedule delaying the project even further. That mistake alone should have been avoidable. Even more frustrating, after telling me "everything is all set" and that I could reach out anytime, he completely disappeared. I've sent multiple messages about ongoing delays and got no response. At that point, it stops being a communication issue and becomes a breakdown in basic professionalism. The process has taken far longer than expected. I started in December, and as of April, I'm still waiting for everything to be fully cleared even though installation has already happened. I've had to call different numbers just to get basic updates on what's going on or what's missing, which shouldn't be necessary. That said, not everyone on the team has been an issue. Tony, who handled the installation, was excellent, responsive, professional, and quick to address problems when they came up. Jason Anderson was also great to work with during the initial phase and helped get things moving. Bottom line: I'm happy with the decision to go solar, but the communication and project management, especially from Stan, have made the process feel unnecessarily difficult. If those issues were fixed, this would have been a much smoother experience.

Throughout the whole process, I was impressed by Bryan's Professionalism,…read moreresponsiveness, and technical knowledge of details as he had 10+ years of roofing experience and now handles sales for the family business, which gave me a lot of confidence during the project. Importantly, there is no subcontracting unlike some other roofing companies which stated their use in fine print. The entire crew worked seamlessly work together in unison to finish my whole reroofing in 3 days. I was initially skeptical since others stated 5+ days, but I could see how organized and efficient the team was. Since roofing is expensive and stressful, I made sure to get four other competitive quotes from other roofers. The price from ASR came out the best with the same specs, but I would still have went with ASR even if they were more expensive, just because of the trust I had in Bryan. Throughout, I got to meet Bryan's father, Frank who has 30 years of roofing experience and was accommodating to my needs such as when I requested protection of my garden during tear-off. I also met Bryans brother Steven during the shingle installation, which reinforced the sense that this was a family business that genuinely cares about the quality of their work. Finally, after the installation was finished, the team still cared very much about passing inspection for permitting and to ensure their reputation is upheld. Even after payment was completed, they continued providing follow-up support when needed, which gave me additional assurances in their commitment to quality. I highly recommend All Service Roofing (ASR).
