I've been to Hot Girl Jazz (various levels) and Music Theatre Dance drop in classes, and have always left feeling happy, proud of myself, and accomplished. What Rachel has created goes way beyond just dance classes. Whether you're completely new to dance or a dancer in retirement, you will find a community that's there for you and whatever journey you're looking to go on. The convenient location on Walnut makes it very easy to work into my schedule, and the classes themselves are fairly intimate. There's classes and camps for kiddos, heels classes, tap, hot girl jazz, music theatre, and more. I am a mover and have never once felt self conscious or "less than" while learning the choreo for the night. If you're looking to expand your community, hobbies, exercise options, or just get outside of your comfort zone, Evolve is the place to do it. Thank you to Rachel, Julianna, and the whole team for making dance so fun and welcoming.

This place is just different…read more I joined Second Chance Adult Dance School in February 2025. I was made aware of them thanks to an annual event by The Philly Movement Foundation. I attended a dance class preview for free & the class was lead by the school's owner Alyssa. I knew immediately that this place was for me. As soon as you walk through those doors, you're not judged by your age or size or background or level of experience. There is a place for everyone. Everyone was so welcoming. The entire place has an atmosphere of community. The class selections are top tier. The teachers are so warm and willing to answer questions. These last 7 months have been so enjoyable and the accomplishments I've felt have been so rewarding. At my big of almost mid-40s, I now take classes five days a week; I take Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Praise, West African, and Hip Hop. I also take PBT (pilates + ballet) & their Stretch class. All beginner level and I moved onto my first intermediate class for Tap. Every week I'm excited to see what is in store for me. As someone who works from home, this place not only gets me more active, but allows me an amazing social connection & networking experience with likeminded individuals. You can tell how much Alyssa loves what she does and she hires & surrounds herself with people who care just as much. I hope I'll be able to participate here so long that I move on over to the "Silver" class for the "more seasoned" crowd hahaha. This place is just different. I would say Rosi as a person is sweet but as a business women she is very unprofessional. After I…read moresent over deposit she answered less, also I had to pay a fee for cleaning and the day of my event which was March 21st it was not clean at all, I had to lift/move furniture around and when I brought it up to her attention instead of working something out with me she told me there's nothing she can do because she paid her "workers" already. And she never told me there was a big customized sticker in her hall floor from a previous party so I had to cover with a big table because she also said there's nothing she can do about it. The hall is nice & spacious but due to how she handles her business me or my family would no longer would ever book this hall again. I even offered some of the cleaning fee back but she rather be money hungry instead of making sure her clients get what she offered in the first place. She also had her daughter come to help her later in the day to clean up the hall and her daughter was very rude to her mother, me and the lady that was there to decorate for me she complained the whole time and that just shows what type of people run this business. With that being said i had to make the best of what was giving to me but no one deserves this type of treatment. I paid $250 for the cleaning fee and it took me from 11-4 to clean/ setup but she said I'm just setting up because she then came around 1 to clean up a little bit but I did most of it. She is lucky I didn't record the bathroom, fridge, and the cooler that smelled from the previous party with old things in it

Closed several times during posted hours. Very frustrating experience. Please don't advertise…read moreclasses if no one will be there.

I kept stumbling with my turns so he went out of his way during the lesson to work with me on them. After an hour lesson, the dance floor opened up until 2am to a spicy mix of salsa and bachata songs! As a first-timer I felt shy and sat in a corner but everyone (even the elite) were so friendly and continually asked me to dance (and taught me steps along the way)! I tend to be very uncomfortable when it comes to physical contact but dancing with everyone felt rather natural! Such a lovely experience- If I lived in or near Philly I would take classes here in a heartbeat. Will definitely be back for more salsa nights!

Our instructor was pleasant and patient, and we had a great time learning basic salsa moves!! The other people in the drop-in class were two other couples...so be warned as that generally seems the norm for classes. I think the academy also does "salsa parties" which are more free practice sessions. The time flew by, and we were encouraged to videotape the last 5 minutes of the instructor giving an overview of what we had learned, so we could come back after practicing on our own! Will definitely come back to use up the rest of our livingsocials....hopefully the classes aren't too repetitive so we'll see!
