Fantastic bar with a great selection of spirits, beers, and screens for watching sports, plus excellent food. The BBQ Nachos are amazing! We had fantastic BBQ at Central BBQ earlier in the day, and these BBQ nachos topped everything there! Mike is a great bartender.

This post has been in my drafts for months, and for why?? Max's is a staple for downtowners. The bartenders are awesome and the beer is always cold. Be sure to ask to sample the daiquiris before you choose. There are a couple that sound a lot better than they taste. Basic bar food with a twist, like the school lunch pizzas, makes it a great spot to catch a game or end a long day. I've never met and stranger and that's honestly one of my favorite things about Max's During crawfish season, Glaze's Crawfish is there every Saturday; weather depending. Most places in Memphis desecrate crawfish, but these guys from New Orleans get it right. $20 for 2lbs and $12 for 1lb, though it varies vary each season.

Sometimes you just need one of those bars where you can just sit and ponder... This place is a mix between grungy and adorable... I'm not really sure how to exactly describe it. The place is tiny so if there is a game on, get there early! They actually have a patio too! The bar itself is really nice. It even has hooks for your purse on the bar (my obsession). They used to only serve beer and now have a FULL bar, which is great. The bartenders are always hilarious and entertaining. Michelle will keep you laughing the entire time. I really, really love this bar because they are one of the few which is completely covered with Memphis swag. From Memphis State posters to the University of Memphis flags... its covering many decades of history! I will definitely be hanging out here on game days!

This is a great neighborhood bar for those living in the area. The beer selection is pretty stellar (hello, Fat Tire on tap) for such a small place, but that's all that Calhoun's serves. There are plenty of big screens so it's a great place to stop in and chill with a few buddies. If there's a huge game on, say Tiger basketball, the SuperBowl or World Cup, I might pick a larger venue for my outing, since the place can get cramped pretty quickly. This place is awesome, though, for a low-key evening on a slow sports night.

If you are a downtown-er- as myself- this is a cool dare I say "dive" bar to hang in. I hesitate to say dive as it really doesn't look like a dive- it's actually quite cute. Not that any man likes hearing that his local sports bar is cute- but you get my drift. It's about a block away from me, and in a city without an abundance of cabs- you can't beat that location. The bartenders are always friendly- but not too friendly in a "shut up I wanna drink my beer in peace" sorta way. They usually have games on, and I haven't picked up on the "frat boy vibe" everyone's laying down in the other reviews. I am definitely not a frat-guy fan and wouldn't enter this establishment if it was something I picked up on. My only complaint is the juke box- I wish it had a better selection of tunes, or perhaps I wish the folks who frequented this place had better music selection skills, cuz 95% of the time I ain't smelling what their cooking up in the way of tunage.

Stumbled here because Beale Street got old after a night and I wasn't disappointed with Max's. They got plenty of big screens, but only a limited amount of seats inside so get there early. $2.50 PBR's are always on special plus plenty of microbrews on tap. I enjoyed the Cuban. Very filling along with other bar food favorites.

Here's a clean, strong review that keeps your energy: Hands down one of the best spots in town. The beer selection is top-tier--something for everyone, whether you're into classics or trying something new. The food is next level, especially the fries... easily top 3 I've ever had. Crispy, flavorful, and addictive. The atmosphere seals the deal: great music, high energy, and the fact that they're open until 3am is a game changer. Best part? The service is always on point. Unfortunately, we were met with one of the rudest bartenders I've ever encountered. As soon as we sat down at the bar, the bartender--a Caucasian woman with a short haircut whose name I unfortunately didn't get--greeted us with an attitude that immediately made us feel unwelcome. Instead of providing friendly service, she was dismissive, impatient, and rushed us through placing our to-go order. She informed us that we could not eat at the bar, which was completely fine. We agreed without any issue and ordered our food to go. However, when my food arrived, I simply opened the container to make sure my order was correct before leaving. She immediately rushed back over and aggressively said, "Didn't I tell you that you could not eat at the bar?" I hadn't taken a single bite--I was only checking my order. Rather than politely clarifying the policy, she continued to scold us and make us feel like we were inconveniencing her simply by being there. We still hadn't even received my friend's food, yet she seemed more interested in lecturing us than providing basic customer service. Once my friend's food finally arrived, we left as quickly as possible. As visitors in town celebrating Pride, we expected a welcoming atmosphere and basic courtesy. Instead, we experienced hostility, impatience, and a complete lack of professionalism. There's a huge difference between enforcing a policy and treating customers with disrespect, and this bartender clearly doesn't understand that distinction. The food may have been fine, but the service was so unpleasant that I would never return or recommend Bar Dogs to anyone looking for a friendly place to eat or have a drink. Customer service training is desperately needed.

My bestie and I were contemplating on where we was going to eat since it was late and we wanted something in downtown memphis. Yall we are born and raised in memphis and this was our first time walking around near Beale St and Peabody looking like tourist trying to find this spot we seen online. First off when we went in the first thing we asked was "did y'all change the name of this place?" Because the name online was Zacs Bar and Grill but the on the door was Jade's Bar and grill. That was 1 . We then proceeded to ask if they were still serving food because it was 10@nite on a Tuesday and every other restaurant/bar was closing they kitchen. She then said the kitchen was open but they was only serving wings and fries and that was another But guess what we did... IGNORE THEM Luckily the cook was nice enough to let us order another item other then the wings but when I say I am 1000% ecstatic that I got them. WHEN I TELL YALL THESE WERE THE BEST WINGS IVE HAD IN MEMPHIS IN A LONG TIME. I got honey hot ( a memphis staple) as the flavor... I ain't never had no honey hot like that before. And the seasoning on the fries LAWD. that cook did his thing in there! Like everything was made to order and you know the place is when they have they own house made ranch!! All I can say is you gotta try it out for yourselves to honestly pick up what I'm putting down. Ya dig? So if you ever in downtown memphis and looking for some FYE ASS hot wings check out Jades Bar and Grill. Sometimes red flags actually turn into green flags.

The first night I went down to check out the menu and noticed a woman at the bar chowing down on wings. She said the were really good. and came in about 7 different flavors. Cool, note taken. The next night I ordered four flavors. The Buffalo, jerk, lemon pepper and honey hot. The wings were cooked marvelously well done with a lil crisp on the end bits but still delicious on the meaty parts.
