I went into their business because my friend knew the family, the dad which has since pasted away. I walked and introduced myself and extended my hand and he said "What are you selling!?!" So rude from the start but because my friend was with me and they came so highly recommended I proceeded to show him my wedding ring that needed to be sized up. My ring was appraised at $8K, so I asked a couple of questions that he just didn't want to answer. As we were sizing my finger he proceeded to complain about how he is SOOO OVER this business and can't wait to do something else. It's so sad, He hates his life, but I still proceeded to leave my ring and my number before leaving. If not for my friend I would have walked out. The next morning I called because I neglected to get a quote, he was so indignant that I had the audacity to ask how much it was going to cost. I was at the very least asking for a range. I told him I would like a quote before continuing and replied "Just come and get it, I don't work with people like you". I drove directly over to pick up my ring and he was just just as rude and miserable. He asked where I was from. My reply was "Dallas" and he said "Well, there you go, we don't service you people." I'm not sure how to take that? I am a white female, 59 year old CEO of a Home Health company, what kind of profiling was he doing here? This poor man, is just hating his life and needs to find anything else to do. His father would roll over in his grave if he saw how his son was handling his legacy. I recently had a new diamond set in my wedding set. I recommend Maxwell Jewelry for all you setting and repair needs. I brought the new diamond into the shop on Friday and was able to pick it up on Tuesday. I was amazed. Jody went above and beyond what I was expecting. I can't stop looking at my new ring. He not only set the new center stone but carefully looked at the surrounding stones. I have a prong setting for all the stones. There were quite a few that had been worn down. He re-tipped and tightened those stones. I will be bringing all my jewelry repair/setting to Maxwell Jewelry. Additional benefit is they are local to Waxahachie. read more

The owners were very rude. As owners of a small supposedly jewelry store they must not want business. They found out where I was from and treated me even worse. Not good at all. I feel bad they do not have love in their hearts. Maybe they should close up shop and stay home. read more

Wish I could give this place zero stars. Went in to get an appraisal on a pearl necklace. She barely looked at the necklace and said "no one wants your pearls". Keep in mind, this is a freshwater pearls necklace with a 14K gold clasp that I bought from James Avery years ago. I purchased it for $400. To which she replied "you'll never get anything for that necklace and we don't want it." I understand not wanting to buy from a customer but the complete disrespect and awful tone she used was unacceptable. Will never step foot in the place again. I called this shop 4 days prior to bringing in an antique pocket watch for a replacement crystal only because the lady (using term loosely) told me it was possible they may have it in their stock. I explained to her exactly what type of watch it was, she said if they didn't have it in stock they would order it and it wouldn't take more than "a couple days". I took it in, this old lady, the one I had spoken with before acknowledged talking with me about the watch. She looked at it and said they probably couldn't get it fixed for about 3 weeks now and she asked her son who I assume runs their business and he said the same. Disappointed at this I left the watch and gave them my phone number and she said she would call when it was ready. After 10 days I called to check on it and she told me they couldn't get the crystal for it and they had tried to call my cell number which I left with them and only received a busy signal, "numerous times". I told her cell phones don't have busy signals, they have call waiting or go to voice mail, she proceeded to tell me to come get my watch and became extremely defensive. Obviously I believe I caught them in a lie all the way around. The next day I went in to pick up the watch and asked her to verify the phone number I had written down, the one she said she had been calling. She showed it to me and of course it was correct. She became very defensive again, calling to her son in the back of the shop to confirm that they both had tried to call me. He proceeds to tell me to just go, that he didn't like my attitude the first day I came in there, which seems odd since when I had left my watch they all told me thank you and to have a good day. He called me a dumb-ass more than once and I was so taken aback by any merchant acting like that I had a hard time thinking of what to say. But I did tell him I realized why there are 3 very bad google reviews for this place and I should have paid attention to those, and the whole time his old mother is standing there making faces at me as I was saying this to him and she even started toward the counter as if she thought she could actually do something to me, a 5'5" 138lb 52 yr old woman!! She must have been in her 70's at least...lol. So needless to say I told them I would post a negative review about them any and everywhere I could possibly do so, up to and including a complaint with the BBB. The business is Maxwell Jewelers in Waxahachie, TX. I wouldn't advise my worst enemy to use them. There were so many other ways they could have handled this, but their defensiveness and unapologetic attitude certainly leads me to believe they were lying to me from the first phone call. read more
