My name is Mark. (Using my wife's account). Im a realtor here in the Mansfield area but was a master jeweler and gemologist for 17 years before I sold my business. Having said that.... I've driving past this family owned mom and pop store (actually mom, son and grandson store) several times while working and decided to pop in today. Their website says they do all work in house and have been around for 35+ years. Having been in this line of work for so long it was important to me to be able to speak to an actual jeweler and not just a salesperson. Apon me entering the store I was greeted by Paty. She was a very kind, welcoming lady that she instantly said she wanted to introduce me to John Pressley the jeweler and son of the founder his mom. John and I talked alot about the jewelry industry, life in the ever growing city of Mansfield and family. John is a down to earth, straight shooting guy. I appreciated him taking a few minutes speaking with me. I brought in 3 rings. My wife engagement ring, my wedding band and masonic ring. I asked if he could throw them in the ultra sonic cleaner and steam them off for me in which he did. I also asked him to reapply the satin finish on my gents band which he also did while I spoke with Paty. My overall experience was amazing. I ended up also meeting Thomas? Which is John's son, their new puppy and his Mother. I cant say enough about their customer service. Their showroom isn't as big as alot of your chain stores but they can make whatever your needing. In closing... stores like this are going away and I hope everyone reading this gives them an opportunity to earn their business like they did me. read more

I have used this store on multiple occasions, usually for small repairs, and I have to say, I think I would go out of my way if I didn't live in the area. Many small businesses like this are more expensive than larger stores. That's definitely not the case here. And they are the epitome of a friendly, small town business. I don't know why I was surprised to find out on my last visit that they've been there for 37 years. Maybe it's because I know how small Mansfield was 37 years ago. The gentleman on the phone said to bring it in on 1/3/2017 and he'd have it done by end of day. I drove down there this morning and I was told it would be Wed or Thursday which was still fine with me. I realized they'd have to be swamped. at 1:30pm, SAME DAY the gentleman called and said, your ring is ready! He remembered speaking to my fiance and it's finished!!!! So I took my wedding rings to be rhodium plated and i will say they came out ok. But I dont think the jeweler John has a clue what a secure prong is. I took my anniversary ring to be checked, I was willing to pay for this, but was told by John that the ring was secure. Well Im no jeweler but I myself felt the middle diamond shift with my finger. Well against my better judgement I wore it and somewhere between being there at the store and on my way home the Middle diamond fell off. Horrible advice and then I called to let him know and he implys SOMETHING HAPPENED TO SHIFT THE DIAMOND. I DONT THINK SO. Bought my wife's ring in to be repaired since the prongs on the crown were loose. I was told that the crown would have to be replaced it would take about a week. About three weeks later I went down to pick up the ring. About a week later the band snapped that's when we noticed that it wasn't the original ring that we brought in. This is a ring that was over 40 years old was still in good shape why it would break within four days is unknown. We indicated to the jeweler that this was not the ring that we brought in he insisted that it was. We insisted that he reset the diamond on a new Ring. Being concerned about the honesty of this jeweler I felt comfortable bringing the diamond to another jeweler to be appraised since he had possession of this diamond for over 3 1/2 weeks.
