If you like being outdoors, this is the perfect spot to enjoy it. There are two parking lots. I parked by the playground and splash pad. There was a porta potty there. The playground had swings, a sandbox, and a playscape. There is a large pond and a short boardwalk that goes through a nature preserve. There is a short paved trail in the middle of the park. There were many picnic tables and benches throughout. I'm betting this is a great spot to go sledding during the winter since there are many hills there. Overall, a nice park and my family and I enjoyed it

We pretty much had the whole place to ourselves today. We walked the park's paths that meander through its 28 acres and connect so many great entertainment and athletic options. We saw an amphitheater, six clay tennis courts, a lighted little league field, a soccer field, a Children's Forest, a huge playground, pickleball courts, a splash pad, a nice pond, hiking trails, pretty scenery, and a long boardwalk over wetlands. That's a ton of things for your enjoyment. I really didn't expect this park to be as awesome as it was, but I was thrilled to have underestimated it.

Energy Zone, located in Cromwell, CT, is the best thing that ever happened to me. I've always been…read morea gym rat- since 1992. However, after a serious back injury in 2011, my life that was once filled with fitness and wellness came to a screeching halt. I wasn't permitted to exercise for a while, but that "while" turned into days, weeks, months, as I gained a large amount of weight. In 2017, I decided that a change needed to take place, and I needed to shape up my life. I looked and sampled many gyms in my area; NEAC, The Cage, Rocky Hill Fitness and tennis, Rebel Fitness, WOW, and LA Fitness. You'd think that one of them would be able to address my needs, but they didn't. Most had "factory-like" atmospheres where people by the hundreds biked, ran on treadmills, and mindlessly peddled away on ellipticals. The classes weren't much better. Some were intimidating with anorexic-like instructors who yelled and taught at their own fitness levels with no modifications or cues. I tried several different classes at many places, but not once felt that I fit in. Then- it finally happened. I walked through the doors of Energy Zone Fitness in Cromwell, located at a small strip mall on Shunpike Road. It looked like most gyms from the outside, but after I entered this place, I immediately felt at ease. Friendly, smiling faces greeted me instead of a dud sitting at a desk playing with his / her phone. I was given a tour and then watched a group fitness class that used trampolines. I peered closer to observe 20+ people, all shapes, all sizes, some young, some old, women and men, etc. I was in awe of the clear modifications the instructor directed them with and watched for several minutes. Behind me, a small group of people were working with a trainer, who had them participate in a series of circuits, which contained cardio, resistance, and weighted exercises for every body part. I continued to view them jumprope, lift weights, use machinery, and work in pairs for some other exercises. It was then that I knew I found my new fitness home. I've been going for over a year, participating in all group fitness and circuit classes and love every minute. I've lost weight, and more importantly- am feeling stronger than ever. If you're serious about starting a fitness regime, I can't recommend this gym enough. So, start your journey today- not tomorrow. They're waiting for you and you won't be sorry... It's Cromwell's best kept secret- and once you're "in on the secret", you'll never look back.

There are public bathrooms at the boathouse and note that there are often events (like weddings) at the actual structure. This happens all nights of the year (or so it seems and by that I mean random weeknights is when I often stumble upon a wedding). It used to be PACKED during COVID. You will almost always find parking in the main lot but occasionally if there are kids sport games on the fields, and lots of kids on the playground, and boats being launched (boats plus trailers take up two spots)... well then you will maybe need to park in the overflow lot. I'm not sure if both of those lots are ever simultaneously full but there is a little parking garage a tiny way up the road by the Glastonbury library (if needed). It's a quick walk up to town & there are some little free libraries (and Poke-stops) nearby! Thank you :)
